The hotel was clean with classic furniture. Even the lady toilet has a nice sofa area. The bed was so comfortable that I didn’t even wake up once ( I am a light sleeper who usually wake up a few times per night). The staff were extremely friendly - special thanks to the Asian young lady. She was genuinely nice and really helpful in recommending places to go for food and transport. If the University house get to read this, pls compliment her and convey my thanks to her again! ||Tips to other travellers who don’t drive - you could walk to national museum of Australia (1.3km) or national film (360m) to catch the free culture loop to visit attractions.

I thought this would be like a dorm, but it is more like apartments. There is a generous living area, and lovely views. It is located within walking distance of restaurants so you need not eat in every day. That being said, the cafe is lovely and I would recommend the included breakfast. I will stay there next visit! Not entirely handicapped accessible, so be sure to check this when you book.

The living area was spacious with plenty of cupboards and storage. The furniture is classic. The bathroom had a large walk in shower and again plenty of space. However, our particular bathroom and a smell of urine so had to leave the window open. The suite of rooms was otherwise clean and well looked after. The accomodation is ideally placed for exploring all the sights in this lovely city. Good value so well worth staying here.

Classy dining with a heritage setting in the confines of a big university. The wine selection is excellent and there is a choice of indoor and outdoor dining weather permitting with cheaper options available. Formal top end dining is also available with excey cuisine. Parking is plentiful and free after 5 pm and all day on weekends.

Really nice, spacious rooms. Not fancy, the buildings are quite old and so are the bathroom, kitchen, etc. But, not expensive, nice grounds, close enough to town. You'll enjoy your stay if this is what you're looking for. Very reasonable prices for what you get.

Old world, simple but spacious & clean. Very comfy bed, nice treed view. Great balcony. The restaurant was superb. The cafe was good though bar service there was slow. Easy to get around & helpful staff. Perfect place for a conference.

Main clientele seem to be visiting academics. Service is polite and prompt, and at the restaurant, the menu covers for a variety of tastes. There is a courtyard with an ornate fishpond that young kids may enjoy. The rooms for accommodation seemed smallish but we're adequately set out for short term guests, providing standard hotel facilities.

I loved this hotel. Ive stayed in various sterile, OK Canberra hotels over the years, all ridiculously overpriced so was delighted to discover this wonderful gem. With its 50s architecture and Fred Ward furniture, old-style university ambience and amazing value, this is an absolute find. Very very cheap and good value for money. PLUS a really excellent gourmet buffet breakfast for $20 if you book it the nights before ($25 if on the day). 10am checkout but then nothing to stop one just sitting in the garden, at Fellows Cafe or just in the very comfortable 50s foyer. Wont be staying anywhere else on future visits.
