First off, I spend at least two $200-$300 a month at Petco, buying my dogs, food, toys, and chews. Also, I am a Petco Vital Care member, and spend an additional $20 or $30 a month on the membership!
Never in my life have I had a worse experience dealing with Petco/unleashed store employee's! The store manager Gabriel, is literally the rudest, nastiest, and most insulting unprofessional boy I have ever come in contact with in a store! A few days ago, placed a curbside order on the Petco app from my phone, and the app was having issues. I have a sprained ankle, and needed to do a curbside pick up, so I didn't have to find parking and walk to the store to get my dogs HEAVY frozen food and carry it back to my car. Curbside pick up is an option you can choose on the Petco app, therefore, I was using it. As I continued to try to finalize my order for my dogs food, I kept getting a notification that the Wilshire and 14th St., Santa Monica store in California, that I was ordering from, did not have enough of the food in stock, so it wouldn't take my payment. I called the store directly and spoke to one of the sales people by the name of VERONICA. I asked Veronica if they had the food in stock and she confirmed that they did. I told her I would go the store to do a curbside pick up, and she concurred. When I pulled up to the store, I called them directly from my car, and I told them that I was sitting in front of the store, and the app wasn't properly working, but because my ankle is sprained, and there was absolutely no parking in the area. Could they please come out to my car, preview the dysfunctional app on my phone, take my credit card, and bring me the food. VERONICA rudely said "no we cannot do that" She said "sorry, but you need to park and come into the storeI told her I have a sprained ankle and there is no parking and could they please accommodate me since I was trying to order a curb side pick up. Her response was "no you need to come into the store and speak to our manager, Gabriel" yes, I was flustered because it's not my fault that the app wasn't working properly, and I felt they should've been accommodating, especially since I had a sprained ankle! the store representatives are supposed to be helpful and accommodating. Instead, i had to walk the store to get my order when I specifically told them that I had a sprained ankle, and it was difficult for me to walk! I requested that they come to the car and I'd hand them my credit card since the app wasn't working. Veronica, a sales person at the store told me she would not accommodate me. When I entered the store, I was accused of being rude to Veronica, by the manager Gabriel. This was not true. I was direct, not rude. Gabriel was rude and accusatory! I asked him if he would honor the discount that I deserved, since I was trying to order online curbside, and he flat out refused! He said "no! I will not, and it's not my problem" I couldn't believe how nasty, and difficult he was l being! He acted like he couldn't understand why at that point, I was so aggravated? I suggested Gabriel was gaslighting me with his behavior, but he probably didn't know what the word meant. He responded "why are you gaslighting me" Then he started cutting me off every other word that I would say, and in a child-like voice, he started to repeat "gaslighting! "gaslighting! gaslighting!" Omg! I I got so upset at how he was treating me, that I actually started to cry, and started screaming at them like they were very spoiled and misbehaved children! Gabriel told me if I didn't get out of the store he was going to call the police? (Really?! I mean Really?)
In my life, I have never dealt with such a rude, immature, and disgruntle employee, such as this unprofessional, awful and childish manager Gabriel, in Petco on 1401 Wilshire Blvd, in Santa Monica Ca. This was the most infuriating, insulting, and abusive experience I've ever had dealing with any sales representative!
I called customer service at Petco, and spoke to a senior supervisor. She was flabbergasted! First of all, she told me that they should've honored the curbside request and gone out to my car. Second, they should've honored the online discount for me, especially since I had proof that the app wasn't working on my phone... and, since I am a paying member of their Vital Care program. Thirdly, Gabriel's behavior was 100% wrong, out of line, and worthy of getting fired! And finally, she offered me $100 gift certificate, plus she reached out to the district manager. I hope the both of them get fired as there are so many other good professional people who need jobs!
