The 8 Best Walking Tours in Rome (Updated 2025)

"For seeing a lot in a short time, I find Fat Tire Tours to be the best bike tour in the city: their three-hour city-center bike tour covers major highlights from the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain to the Circus Maximus and the Jewish Ghetto at a leisurely pace so you won't feel rushed; tours from 39 EUR." - Matthew Kepnes

The Best Walking Tours in Madrid (Updated 2025)

"When I wanted to give my feet a break, Fat Tire Tours provided two different three-hour bike tours that cover history and lesser-visited neighborhoods at a leisurely pace; they also offer a parks-and-rivers route that is perfect for families or anyone wanting to avoid the busy city center." - Matthew Kepnes

Excellent experience with a very knowledgeable, friendly, and energetic guide. Versailles and the grounds are amazing and need to be seen to be understood. The bike tour was a really cool way to see more then you ever could walking. Jen(our guide) did a fantastic job of leading the group, providing tips and specialty gear we needed (like a tarp and corkscrew) for a very enjoyable picnic lunch, and had a lot of knowledge of the history of the events that took place during the French Revolution. Very enjoyable day for the family.

FULL DAY TOUR - Palace of Versailles. Nick led our tour. He was a great guide with excellent knowledge and a little bit of humour thrown in. Very relaxed day. Nick was always checking the group was together. Don’t forget to take cash to the markets. Or bring your cards to withdraw at the ATMs. Market vendors do have cashless but require a €10 min purchase. I found a bakery on the outside of the market that sold pre-made baguettes. I didn’t have a card so didn’t have cash. The fruit is fresh. The Palace was packed at 3:30pm. Really hard to walk around with other tour groups narrating each room. The cycling in the park around the palace was really easy and the picnic on the grass was relaxing. To see the palace garden was another €11/person. Great way to see the palace and hear about the history.

Biking the palace grounds with a guide is the most efficient and pleasant way to experience the grandeur of Versailles. We easily traveled 8 to 10 miles by bike and foot with our professional, courteous and knowledgeable American guide Jenn B…..Private access, small group, interesting tidbits made it a long but interesting day with the SUN KING and the GRANDEUR Of France !

Giverny and Monet’s home and Gardens- Rory and OJ were amazing tour guides - we had SO much fun! No trip with my sister would be complete without me falling off my bike - Rory was right there to pick me up - no harm done. Just embarrassed - Fabulous market in Vernon and a lovely picnic. Highly recommend

Best tour of our Paris trip, highlight for sure! Fantastic and knowledgeable guide, Vlad, navigated the streets like a pro and was great with our 9 year old. We were able to see some of the best sites of Paris in the neatest way. Highly recommend for a unique and fulfilling way to see Paris!!!

We booked a private bike tour of Paris with Fat Tire. Best decision I ever made! We had a group of 8 (5 of which were boys ranging from 10-15). We were so lucky to be assigned Walker as our guide! He was very knowledgeable, super friendly and enthusiastic, and managed to entertain 5 boys for hours! The boys felt like they were hanging out with a friend. This bike tour, I feel, is the best way to tour Paris. The highlight of our trip! I’m also glad I booked a private tour, I’m sure all the tours are exceptional, but we enjoyed the extra special attention. I want to personally thank Walker for being so amazing! Walker you created memories for my family that will last a lifetime❤️

A really joyful way to see the city on a gorgeous sunny evening. The group was small, very well led by Walker (who knew it would take a Texan to tell me the most amazing facts about Paris?!) and we covered a solid chunk of the city in 3.5 hours last night. Just when I thought I’d seen everything in Paris, this tour led me to discover more! Highly recommended.

The night tour was amazing!!!! Soto was our tour guide and we LOVED him! Super friendly, knows ALL the history, and adds a perfect amount of humor. The night tour shows you all the major sites in Paris. When you do the night tour you get to see the Eiffel Tower lit up at night! What a treat. Thank you, Soto!!!
