Had a great time staying there, the lodge is super cozy, super clean, and has lots of guides and information. Such a dream place to stay for a weekend! Martin, the owner, is a great guy, read somewhere, he’s a crazy bikepacker. As a fellow bikepacker, I was inspired, def don’t get shy chatting with the guy. For me, I would come back again.
On another note, I came with a friend, it seems my friend was traumatized that he even asked me, “Are we allowed to use the washroom?” It was my friend’s first time in a hostel, without my knowledge, he moved to sleep on the couch in the middle of the night. Any traveller would know that sleeping in common area is a no-go, but he didn’t know. Martin charged at me at first (when I was having breakfast), I was appalled. Then after I denied his allegations, I remember vaguely he said something like “if you ever come back…” to my friend.
Anyways, this review isn’t meant to badmouth Martin (he’s truly a nice guy), just a friendly warning for fellow travellers who’re not accustomed yet to the norms. If I were to guess, Martin was just prob used to dealing with difficult people since it’s a hostel after all.
