Upper Bar

My experience at Upper Bar was phenomenal. I had heard wonderful things and so I had decided to stop by for a birthday cocktail. The beautiful riverside view of the city paired with the elegant and interesting premium cocktail menu made for an incredible going out experience. I tried the vanilla bourbon old fashioned and it was incredible. The only thing more incredible than my cocktail was the woman who served it to me, Audrey. I have never had a server more attentive, charismatic, and wonderful than she was. Overall, I had a 10/10 experience and I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a wonderful experience and a wonderful cocktail.

Upper Bar is exactly the kind of place you hope to stumble upon—but once you do, you’ll want to keep it a secret. Located just above the river, it has one of the best views in town without feeling touristy or crowded. We were greeted by sweet staff with a great positive energy The real star, though? The patio. It’s absolutely adorable, comfy seating, heaters, and fire pits scattered around so you can enjoy the view even when the weather is chilly. It’s the perfect setting for date night or cocktails after a show at one of Milwaukee's many venues near the Deer District. The drink menu is creative yet approachable. You’ll find everything from well-crafted classics to unique signature cocktails that are clearly made with fresh ingredients and care. Upper Bar feels upscale without the attitude—friendly service, beautiful ambiance, and drinks worth coming back for. Highly recommend stopping in!🍸🔥🌙

Chad, Brendzy, and Hayden created an amazing experience for our date night. They were extremely friendly and provided great drink (alcoholic and N/A) recommendations. We don’t come to downtown Milwaukee often, but next time we do, we will definitely be coming back. I highly recommend the white tea martini. Thank you, Chad and team!!!

We came here twice to have a drink on the same night, once before dinner reservations elsewhere and once after. Our server was extremely friendly. We chose this bar because it had a laid back feel, and it was much quieter than the lobby bar at our hotel in the Saint Kate. It's tucked away and was almost full but a way calmer/quieter vibe. Highly recommend this location. My one wish is that they had coke products instead of their Pepsi products.

What a great change to the place! They are focused in on quality vs quantity. The new cocktail menu has something for everyone. They shortened the food menu just to focus on quality. We haven’t had the food yet but the cocktails are amazing and prices perfectly. The staff is super inviting and friendly. Hopefully the rest of MKE finds the new place and keeps this on the river. A+!

Upper Bar is located inside the Saint Kate hotel with a nice view of the river. The space itself reminds me of the bow of a ship or something nautical perched above the river. It's a nice spot to stop after work for happy hour, and the $7 glasses of red and white wine are a great value Tuesday-Friday from 4-6. They also feature some bites during happy hour like wings, charcuterie, and flatbreads. Choose from bar seating, table seating, or head outside for fresh air and river views with patio fireplaces. The night I was in there was a meetup going on and with all of them arriving at about the same time it was a bit noisy and it caused some delays in getting refills for us, but overall it was a nice time.
