They have a delicious breakfast burrito -- I highly recommend trying it. Their coffee also tastes better than Starbucks. If you want to try something new, you should definitely check this place out. Servers are also kind and friendly. It's like you're at home. Ambience of the patio is also so silence, peaceful to sit and work there.

One of my fav grab n go morning spots. Just tried the mixed berry gluten-free muffin and was BLOWN AWAY by how flavorful it was. Lovely texture, and it was still warm from the oven. I sometimes worry that gf-options might be so-so choices, and I don't have any reason I need to choose those, but this looked so good I had to try it. So happy I did. And the woman behind the counter was lovely to chat with for a few moments. Can't wait to go back again on a future visit to SM.

If I could give the service more than 5 stars, I would. Very welcoming and friendly team. Love all of the house baked goods. Breakfast sandwich was great!

Honestly, I don’t know why this place has such good ratings. It’s a small place, and the menu is limited to mostly sandwiches and a few brunch items. There’s only one table inside; the rest is a bar with three stools (that don’t even reach the height of the table) and two small armchairs with a tiny table. We ordered the omelette and the Easy avocado toast, a coffee, and a bottled juice (no fresh juices available). I didn’t like the omelette because it was basically just the egg covering everything else, with some rustic potatoes on the side. My husband liked the sandwich. There was a variety of pastries that we didn’t try. We also ordered the soup of the day, which was a tomato basil cream. It was a large portion. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t extraordinary either.

Uppers Cafe & Bakeshop has become my go-to spot whenever I'm in Santa Monica. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for catching up with friends or getting some work done over a great cup of coffee. The pastries are absolutely delicious – you can tell everything is made fresh. I'm particularly fond of their croissants, which are perfectly flaky and buttery. Their coffee is consistently excellent, and the baristas clearly know what they're doing. What really sets Uppers apart is the friendly staff. Everyone is welcoming and attentive without being overbearing. The space itself is clean and well-maintained with a cozy neighborhood cafe vibe that makes you want to linger. Whether you're looking for a quick breakfast, a midday pick-me-up, or a relaxed afternoon coffee break, Uppers delivers every time. It's one of those local spots that makes the community feel special. Highly recommend!

Very cute little coffee and bakery shop. Nice servers who were polite and courteous. We ordered the smoked salmon avocado toast, croissant, egg salad sandwich & French toast. Food was excellent and fresh. Highly recommend!

The place is cute, but the parking is a issue. There is no space in the front cafe, and you have to walk all the way around to get seat. But overall the food and vibe is very calm.
