Your priority should be treating- NOT asking about vaccines. That literally doesn’t matter if you’re already sick, especially when there’s no vaccine for said sickness. If you’re wondering why your eyes hurt, you can’t breathe, or you’re not getting better- look at the AC and return vents and even the windows are fully covered in dust. Dirt everywhere, just completely unclean. CLEAN YOUR HOSPITAL!!! CLEAN YOUR HOS

Syracuse Upstate ER is an absolute embarrassment to healthcare. This place is the definition of dysfunction. Hours of waiting with zero communication, zero urgency, and zero concern for patients. You’re treated like a number—actually, worse than a number—like an inconvenience for daring to need medical help. Staff were cold, dismissive, and openly annoyed when asked basic questions. No updates, no explanations, no accountability. People in visible pain were ignored while employees stood around chatting like this was a break room instead of an emergency department. The lack of professionalism was shocking. The entire experience felt careless and chaotic, like no one was in charge and no one cared. If this is what passes for emergency care here, it’s honestly frightening. Coming to the ER should not make you feel helpless, ignored, and disrespected—but that’s exactly what happens at Syracuse Upstate. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. If you value your time, your dignity, or your health, go literally anywhere else

If I would be able to give them zero that’s what I will give them. The administrators of this place have zero respect por their staff and their patients. It is so sad that this is one of the few places that we have in the city. Last night I took my baby to Golisano and unfortunately that’s the only entrance that connects to the children’s hospital. The Upstate waiting room had a strong smell of heces and urine and was extremely hot. They charge to you a lot of money for being in a filthy and disgusting place. I hope the city or the state do something because this is public health issue.

The waiting is the worst part. One tone I saw a homeless person an was waiting for 4 hours for an MRI scan. Why do doctors recommend this place if they can not do something simple. I don't want to go here anymore unless I notify my Lawyer. I was finally Discharged the next day. I do not recommend this place

We were in the waiting room from 6pm until finally being brought to be examined at 4am, didn't speak to the doctor until 6am and was discharged at 8am. Some of the staff were great, but my fiancee was discharged with a ketone reading of 40 as a diabetic, a ketone reading of 5 or higher is considered a medical emergency and they dismissed our concerns of diabetic ketoacidosis. They just said she had a "gastro-infection" and to follow up with their PCP, now we're in a different ER not even 6 hours after our discharge, because her Endocrinologist told us she should've never been discharged in the first place

This is the worst ER experience I ever had in my life I came here. Temperature is 100.6 I been sitting for 4 hours I have not been seened it’s freezing cold they say they cannot offer blankets anymore in the ER all the nurses do is sit there and giggle not really worried about the patience. Keep on checking temperatures like if something is really going to change. It’s filthy. It’s just childish staff working. They need a overseer on overnight because they are not doing their jobs right This is the worst hospital in history for me. I will never return back again.

Negative star if it's allowed me . Sitting in ER waiting room. Trash on the floors and it smells like piss. Been waiting over 4hours on Thursday day night, it's not a busy night. They don't care if you're in pain I ask them how long I'll be waiting no one knows the answers and they told me "its up to you wait or leave" the front ppl are so rude. The room is filthy and smells piss . I'm gagging the whole time. It's the worst ER I've been. I'd leave but I need my eyes checked out. This place is trash! Patient care: zero, cleanliness: zero. If I can leave negative star I will.

★☆☆☆☆ UPSTATE UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL ER – 7+ Hour Wait, Zero Tests, Life-Threatening IIH Dismissed as “Headache” Since July 2025 I’ve had textbook secondary intracranial hypertension (IIH): - Bilateral pulsatile tinnitus (vascular, ENT confirmed Nov 8) - Pulse-synchronous visual obscurations - Lost near vision / sharper distance - Coat-hanger upper-back pain so bad I can’t stand straight at work - Burning inner thighs (crotch to knees) - Left arm pink/swollen, left foot numb + 2 toes pink tips - Cannon-A thump + gurgle on PVCs - Enlarged spleen (normal liver Doppler) - Mixed-venous SvO₂ 52 % drawn HERE Oct 6 (nurse admitted real, then lied “mistake”) - BP 114/71, normal echo/stress test Arrived 1 AM Saturday Nov 9 after ENT confirmation. Waited 7+ hours surrounded by diverted ambulances and homeless patients. **ZERO bloodwork, ZERO MRI/MRV, ZERO lumbar puncture.** Discharged with “headache” on papers. Nurse claimed SvO₂ 52 % is “fine because it’s venous.” Had to drive to **Upstate Community campus** myself to finally get eye ultrasound + CT (still no LP). This campus risked my vision and life through pure negligence. Every symptom, every lab, every ENT note ignored.
