Watching the sunset at Upton Towans Beach was absolutely magical. The wide stretch of golden sand and the peaceful dunes make it such a special place to end the day. As the sun dipped lower, the sky lit up with incredible colours – pinks, oranges, and purples reflecting beautifully across the sea. It felt calm, unspoiled, and far less crowded than some other beaches, which made the experience even more memorable. Whether you’re walking along the shoreline or sitting on the dunes, it’s the perfect spot to relax and take in the beauty of nature. Truly a wonderful place to watch the sun go down. 🌅

Beautiful beach that’s huge when the tide is out. Perfect for walking along the sea, exploring little caves and rock pools, and giving dogs plenty of space to run. We have quite reactive dogs and it was great to have so much room. Just note there’s only one set of steps down to the beach.

Upton Towans Beach is a fantastic spot! The large car park up top makes access easy, with just a quick 5-minute walk down to the beach. Lifeguards are on duty, adding peace of mind. As always, check tide times to plan your visit and avoid disappointment. The beach is massive, with plenty of room for everyone and endless stretches for a scenic walk. Our cat loved exploring the rocks, and we had a blast building sandcastles. It’s also a perfect place to catch stunning sunsets. Highly recommend!

Stunning sandy beach! Dog friendly all year round!! Lots of rock pools. Car park is fairly small for size of the beach and you may have to wait for a space in peak season.

Simply stunning beach. Soft golden sand. Very quiet as a bit off the beaten track, need to drive here and walk down from the cliff. Plenty of parking. Great for surfers, but also walking.

Beach was amazing, lovely soft sand and clear water, the waves get big, which is great for surfers, life guards on duty for some parts of the day and the areas are flagged to show you where you can swim, there are also details about low and high tides. The walk down and up from the beach is quite steep and tricky to walk up.

This was the most beautiful beach we have ever seen! It's quite difficult to find and access, and so unsuitable for pushchairs or wheelchair users. We eventually managed to drive down to the surrounding hillside and walk across, past a freshwater lake and cobbles to this stunning beach. Walking barefoot along this incredibly long and beautiful stretch of beach was how I'd imagine being in Heaven - amazing peace, spaciousness, calm, virtually deserted and so restful and calming, with the sound and sight of the breakers rolling in and the vault of the blue sky above. We enjoyed watching the surfers and picking up rocks and pebbles. Only one bum note - loads of people took their dogs here, not an issue in itself except for the occasional bag of dog poo thoughtlessly and disgustingly left at the entrance to the beach, spoiling an otherwise beautiful area.
