ATMOSPHERE; Looks sure can be deceiving. From the outside, it looks like your run-of-the-mill gas station convenience store, but once you enter, it's a totally whole new world. I was impressed. Bigger than it looks from the outside, with food (bentos & made-to-order kitchen), drink & desserts abound. FOOD: Hamburger Steak Dark brown gravy, 2 scoops of rice & potato mac salad. Patties were home-made. Nice sized portion. Chopped Steak Yowza! The steak was well done but tender, and the grilled mushrooms and onions only added heaven to this salty with a hint of sweetness dish. Portion size is perfect. Potato mac salad is good. I really had a tear in my eye on the last bite. Shoyu Chicken Skin-on, bone-in thighs were super moist with loads of sweet and salty shoyu flavor, a scoop of white rice, and a scoop of macaroni potato salad. Winners!!!! It so hit the spot. They were more than happy to pour some of the drippings onto my rice. Ahhhhhh... Highly recommended. Pastele Empanadilla Let me put it out there - I do not like pastele, but this buggah was ono! Thanks to a friend/co-worker who loves to eat even more than I do, she grabbed one for me to try. The lightly crunchy and moist shell with a juicy and savory meat filling made my tastebuds and tummy smile! The perfect light breakfast or snack. Highly recommended! SERVICE: Food service is quick but some things are made to order so you may have a short wait. The staff are very friendly. OVERALL: Great place to stop by during lunch hour. Quick, close & convenient.

Fuck off

They were nice; however, it smelled like doodoo inside, so I didn't wanna get any food

Terrible service. I got rotten beer from them and they would not return it. Then insulted me as I left. Bunch of ugly people.

It's NOT 24 hours. They are only open for cigarettes at 2 am when I went

Yelp
How have I never posted here?! This spot is prime location in Wailuku town and great for lunch. You can call ahead or even order online. It can get busy so if you're ono for the daily special, you might want to call it in or risk it getting sold out. Top specials are Pastele Stew on Wednesdays and of course their Baked Opakapaka on Fridays. I personally love their tuna melt and philly cheesesteak. So good and so affordable even in today's inflated prices. All the aunties in there are super nice! They even make delicious desserts and baked goods.
google avatar

Cody F.

Yelp
My coworker told me the Pastele Stew on Wednesdays were great. I liked the Pastele Stew. I prefer a little spice to Pastele Stew and it was surprising that this one wasn't a little spicy. It reminded me more of Pork Adobo minus the vinegar. The Gandule Rice was really good. I enjoyed it. Also got other things like hot dog musubi, spam musubi, and breakfast fried rice (discounted since it was already lunch). They have so much selection and it was quite busy inside. It was a good thing I came early enough. I'd come back to try their other specials. Their specials list is on their website. Parking is a little hard to find.

Yelp
Usually has a nice array of food that is tasty: pastele stew, baked opakapaka, adobo fried rice. I'd stay away from the shrimp scampi pasta. That was worse than a TV dinner (soggy soft noodles, heavy one dimensional cream sauce). Towards the end of the day, a lot of food items are half off (and still decent!) Everyone there is and has been nice and friendly, and fast in terms of service. It's a gas station, so don't expect much. Good to grab and go some snack food and drinks too.

Yelp
Came here at the request of one of my employees. They stated the food was great and it was the closest place to Kaohu store who didn't have poke ready yet... Ordered 10 plates of random items for everyone. I ended up with the mushroom gravy pork chops with mashed potatoes. It was cold. Like out of the fridge cold. The potatoes while mashed had pieces that were undercooked. Overall I had roughly two bites and tossed the plate. Will not be back and I can't recommend it as it was the worse plate lunch I've had in awhile.
google avatar

Chelsie F.

Yelp
I just thought it was cool they sold beyond meat jerky. I've never seen this before & wanted to try it. It's surprisingly good, the flavor isn't as strong as your typical teriyaki jerky. But the look and texture is pretty similar.
google avatar

Miriam M.

Yelp
I've had opakapaka for years but today's was the worst. Also the mashed potatoes were so dry I poke my fork in it and it crumbled. I not sure if I'll be back for anything else

Yelp
I like their Hamburger steak. This is my go to Now. Very flavorful and they give very good portion. Nice and hot too. Meat is tender and Delicious. I would recommend check out their daily Menu specials as well!! I first thought it was just a gas station with fast foods but you can actually have good food here for lunch dinner breakfast...

K T.

Yelp
The cashier Vivian walks around as if she owns the place and is incredibly rude. She definitely needs customer service training. Sad because everyone else that works there is always friendly.

Yelp
I do enjoy a hamburger steak wherever I go. It seems to be my go to plate lunch so when I went here and they were out of pastele plate with gandule rice I knew what I wanted. Hamburger steak of course. Das Automatic! It came with 2 hamburger patties with brown gravy and a scoop of rice. The only thing was it was cold. But it was delicious. I ended up eating most of it. Everything but the rice and Mac salad. They were pretty busy which is a good thing you know that they're doing something right. We also go the teriyaki we taught it was breaded but it wasn't. But it still tasted good. The taste was there I like how friendly the purple are here. Truly great customer service. Especially Momi I didn't get a chance to talk with her but the thing that got to me was a we were leaving she said thank you. And "love you family" hey now that's what's going to bring me back that the people working there are friendly. She truly is a gem. I love that. Maybe the next time I will get gandule rice and pastele if I'm in wailuku early to the game.

Yelp
This place is so yummy. I feel like someone fixed me a plate of food that their family prepared. Each dish is made with love. The banana bread is so good. I eat the lil tray myself. Its really good. There are a ton of banana bread options i would pick this over any others. They have lots of yummy things in the hot and cold stations. I love when they have adobo n rice. Every thing here is good. They have a daily soup. Also you can order breakfast and lunch. Big yummy servings. I ate my break fast sandwich before i could take a photo. Its about $10 but it big. The banana bread is about $7 and its a little on the smaller side BUT its delicious and worth every penny. You should get 2.

Yelp
Uptown was my daily go to place for lunch. However, since the new owners took over Uptown has been very disappointing. First, the prices have increased substantially. Second, they are not ready to serve early eaters like me. They tell me it is because they don't have cooks. I would go in on Monday and buy several spaghetti ala carte plates. They used to cost $6.00. Now they cost $9.00 since the new owners took over. The last couple of times I went on Monday they did not even have spaghetti. They said we don't have cooks. Same for Thursday pork chops. They also don't have mashed potato every day, again because lack of cooks. I went five times in the last two weeks and left because they did not have the daily specials I have become used to buying or they were not ready for lunch. Very disappointing from a former loyal customer.
google avatar

Doreen B.

Yelp
They have online ordering now! PLUS you can see the daily specials very easily from there too. You can always count on their usual menu - but the daily specials are always something that are, well, special. Bentos are always available, as are made in house baked goods. You can't go wrong with their mochi, or home made cereal bars or muffins. I LOVE that they are covid safe and strict. Super efficient in how they run the hot bar. Where to stand, where to order, and how to pay and pick up. You know they LOVE YOU FAMILY!

Yelp
Freshly made food from a gas station? Are you kiddin' me??? No ways man..........I ain't gonna lie to you folks! Believe it or not........this Texaco gas station (formerly a Chevron gas station) in the old Wailuku town serves up some pretty ono plate lunch grindages!!! I wouldn't have known about this place if it weren't from my reliable Yelp buddies - Vince N., & Maria P., (you folks really know where to get da good grindages yo!) Once I saw da pics that Vince N., & Maria P. had posted...........then I heard Vince mentioned something about "Shoyu Chicken", Aiyah.........next thing ya know, Bruddah Fran has to check this place out!!!! Upon turning on my trusty GPS on my phone, I head toward old Wailuku town, and as I drive up Main Street.........you will see a pretty large Texaco gas station. There is plenty parking in the private parking lot, as they had parking in front of the gas station, as well as behind the gas station. If for some reason the parking lot is full, there is ample free street parking too. As I got to the Texaco gas station, I parked my rental car on one of the free street parking stalls just adjacent to the gas station. Upon walking into the Texaco convenience store, I headed straight to the back of the store where you will see a little booth marked "ONOLICIOUS", and believe me folks..........this is where all of the magic is made on a plate!!!! How it works - 1. You check out the wall menu posted by the Onolicious booth, then place your food order at the booth. 2. From there, you go back to the front of the Texaco convenience store & pay for your food (that you had ordered from the Onolicious booth). Upon paying for your food, the cashier will give you a receipt where you take the receipt back to the Onolicious booth. 3. When you food is ready, the lady will call your name. You give her your reciept (showing you paid for your food), and she in turn will give you your onolicious plate lunch! 4. Unfortunately this place does not have any seating area, so it's basically a grab & go kinda place.......... (I ate my food in my rental car). There were 3 wall menus posted by the Onolicious booth - 1. One menu appears to be the standard menu (items that they serve everyday). 2. Then there was a breakfast menu - (breakfast is served from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM). 3. And the last menu was stuff posted for their "daily specials" for the day. Upon looking over the menu, I decided to get the regular size - Yakitori Chicken plate with Brown Rice, & Toss Salad from their daily specials menu. I noticed most of the regular plates from the daily specials menu run just under $10 bucks, @ $9.95 per plate. Please note;............if you choose to get your plate lunch with brown rice, there is a extra ($1.00 surcharge), as their standard plate lunch normally comes with white rice. What can I say about the grindages?? Brah, when I picked up my plate I almost dropped it, as it was so HEAVY!!! You know what it means when you get one heavy plate???? Yes gangies.........that means they wen' give you plenty grindages yo!!!! SCORE!!! The Yakitori Chicken was made perfectly........slowly grilled & marinaded to perfection...........just right, nothing was burnt from the cooking process. I give BIG Props to da chef.........UDAMAN!!!! The mixed green salad was fresh, and it was accompanied with some sliced tomato, & cucumber. They provided a dressing on the side, and I got the ranch dressing that was very thick & flavorful. I can't believe this gas station cranks out some pretty good plate lunches! Big props to my Yelp buddies - Vince & Maria.........if it weren't for you folks, I would have never known about this place! Looking for a local style plate lunch??? Check out the "Onolicious" booth inside of the Wailuku Texaco!

Yelp
A few things have happened since my 2016 review... First and foremost, their insanely delicious Chop Steak is now available daily (Monday thru Friday). Secondly, their plans to expand the building to include a sit down area for the takeout counter still hasn't come to fruition yet. Thirdly, they're now a Texaco gas station. Fourthly, I tried a new item! FOOD: Pastele Empanadilla - $3.50 each Let me put it out there - I do not like pastele, but this buggah was ono! Thanks to a friend/co-worker who loves to eat even more than I do, she grabbed one for me to try. The lightly crunchy and moist shell with a juicy and savory meat filling made my tastebuds and tummy smile! The perfect light breakfast or snack. Highly recommended! TIP: Order and pay for takeout food at the main cashier counter then take your receipt to the food counter. OVERALL: A hidden gem to most. I wish they operated on the weekends.

Yelp
This is a hidden local gem, probably not known to the tourist industry. I'm always looking to try burgers from a variety of locations. This cheeseburger was a 5 star home run. Best flavor ever. Cheeseburger and fries for under $8. What a deal. I've found myself a new gold mine. Rates #1 for burgers based on price and taste. Can't wait to try other items on the menu. PS: They even have fresh manapua!!
google avatar

Yelp
Review on a gas station? Really? Yep. Believe it or not, this Chevron not only serves gas to the people of Wailuku, but they also serve up a delicious array of plate lunches each and everyday through their little mini mart. I've been to this location a number of times, but I never actually knew they had lunch options up until a few months ago when my co-worker was passing the menu around recruiting folks to try out their dishes. I'm always down to try something new so it was a no brainer. They have a set everyday menu and have daily lunch specials at affordable prices. Everything was around the $9 - $10 mark if I remember correctly and the servings are large, enough for 2 small meals or 1 really big lunch. I went with the corned beef plate on this particular day and oh my gosh did it hit the spot. Let's just say I had 1 really big lunch and polished off that bad boy as if it were my last meal on earth. The corned was perfectly tender, juicy, and fatty just the way I like it. I think some people might be turned off by the amount of fat in each slice, but I believe that's where the flavor is at and it was so so delish. Mmmmhhhmmmm. Thanks to my co-worker I've made a mental note and added a new spot to the little lunch spot database. I definitely want to try more their dishes in the future!
google avatar

Mary L.

Yelp
This place has stayed a hidden jem from tourist which is great. The prices are reasonable and the portions are just right enough to fill you up for lunch but not make you sleepy. I like the fact that along with the regular menu they also have daily specials so you have a variety of food to pick from. It gets busy especially around lunch time so you might want to call in your order if you're in a hurry
google avatar

Dane K.

Yelp
A frequent stop for me for lunch, a cold drink or a quick snack. They have a food service line/kitchen which puts out some awesome food. Pasteles are pretty good & gandule rice is flavorful. Today got the chicken Alfredo. Chix was tender and pasta was ono. But the best thing about here is Momi and her staff. Always friendly and makes you feel like ohana. I guess that's why their slogan is, "Aloha Families"

Jon C.

Yelp
Sold me skunked beer and wouldn't return it, then insulted me as I was leaving. Horrible ugly people.

Jayme G.

Yelp
I have never been to the location but i have ordered the chop steak twice through door dash. Its the best ive ever had.
google avatar

Julienne G.

Yelp
Great local food and snacks. Always friendly service. I dunno what they are called but the egg & spam wrapped in nori snacks are the best and this is the only place I've seen them.
google avatar

Louis R.

Yelp
Monday: Fill up on Regular unleaded, buy Kona coffee and fried chicken for breakfast. You heard me. Tuesday: Buy Kona coffee and spam musubi for breakfast, and get Jeep washed. Wednesday - Friday: See Monday; Replace fried chicken with teriyaki ribs/chicken katsu/pork adobo, rice and mac salad, and double up on Kona coffee. I can eat at a Hawaiian gas station urrryday, braddah. Mahalo.
google avatar

Deron F.

Yelp
Lunch time is great here when you need to take out. Baked Opakapaka, Shoyu chicken, Pastele Stew, Gandule rice, Corned beef and cabbage....hungry yet? These are only a few examples of what they offer for lunch during the weekdays. Their menu rotates everyday, but I do know Wednesdays got Pastele stew and Fridays got baked Opakapaka. Yes, they are a gas station/convenience store, but when lunch is on...cheee huuu.(yay) ..action! (super great) . Staff is really friendly and they are open 24 hours. Also you can find kulolo here!
google avatar

Tris W.

Yelp
My coworkers told me about this place and we order from here a lot. Their food is so 'ono. They are fast and efficient and their staff is very nice. I was very impressed the first time I went here. I haven't tried all of their food yet but it's nice to have coworkers who try different foods and we let each other sample lol. Good stuff. This is one of our favorite places to go to for sure.
google avatar

Rachael T.

Yelp
Homemade local food, and lots of options. The best spam musubi on island! Delicious tender shoyu chicken where the glaze is just right! The service is friendly. The kind of place you just feel at home in, local Hawaii style.
google avatar

John R.

Yelp
Best breakfast ever from a small kine place. The croissant breakfast sandwich was delicious and fulfilling. Looking forward to trying everything else on the menu. Ono kine grindz!

Kim K.

Yelp
This convenience store has the best spam musubis! Comes with a container of magic teri sauce which makes these musubis so delicious and different from any other that I've tried. You've got to give it a try.
google avatar

Donald O.

Yelp
Ask for the daily specials....the food on the most part is good to very good and the people there are so nice and very friendly! I go there mostly on Thursday for their breaded teriyaki with brown rice and toss salad.... so good and very reasonable! To speed up your order; I would call ahead....within 15-20 minutes time to get there; They will have your order ready.
google avatar

Lawrence S.

Yelp
Some of the best food on maui comes out of this place. If you are local and haven't tried there food you missing out big time. If your a visitor and want to try real local food for a good price. This is the spot. Everyone here from cashiers to kitchen staff are super friendly and the food is awesome. Plus they have so many choices packed in to such a small space. Plus nice to see a locally owned business doing well.
google avatar

Tom C.

Yelp
Was blessed with a Holiday Meal from this place. My dish was a baked "Dynamite Style" Opakapaka with rice and potato mac salad. It was AMAZING... so fresh and prepared perfectly. The filet (almost like a steak infact) was moist and delicious. Don't let the Gas station front fool you. This food is ONOLICIOUS!
google avatar

Cookie G.

Yelp
I love everything about Uptown Chevron , the workers are wonderful and there food and salads
google avatar

Janet R.

Yelp
Yes. Lunch at the gas station for sure. It's the family vibe "hello uncle!" And "thank you family" to everyone in the door, plus the outstanding ribs potatoes pork buns etc... find this place when you are hungry for local flavor!
google avatar

Neal D.

Yelp
I can't praise the kitchen at Uptown Chevrolet enough--from the food, to the service, to its own unique charm, the place is a diamond in the rough. It took me by surprise that a mini-mart would serve delectable food by they do. Their offerings are decidedly local and include items such as breaded teriyaki beef (so good!) and staples like SPAM musubi and fried chicken. And then there's their specials such as baked opapaka and several soups and stews with names I can never remember. May I recommend the Philly Fish, a local take on a Philladelphia Cheesesteak. And, if you have a breakfast hankering, they've got you covered there, too. But let's not neglect the staff. First, a shout-out to Tiffany, who is a total sweetheart. As for the rest, they're kind and work as fast as they can and provide friendly service.
google avatar

Kevin A.

Yelp
EVER EATEN FRIED CHICKEN FROM A GAS STATION? Probably not. But if you're so inclined to remedy this, the Wailuku Chevron is the place to do it. They actually have a kitchen in the convenience store that fries up some mean fried chicken! No really. I'm not kidding. The chicken is prepared fresh and is crispy, moist, and juicy. They supposedly inject the chicken with honey before they fry it which gives it a wonderfully sweet flavor. As a bonus, the ladies who work there are incredibly friendly. I've never seen so much aloha at a gas station before.
google avatar

Beth K.

Yelp
I have nothing bad to say about this place. In my experience the staff is always friendly and the food is always surprisingly good! I bought a breakfast plate about a week ago and was pleasantly surprised to find that they used thick cut bacon and cooked it just right! (They asked if I wanted it crispy or "medium", and "medium" was perfect!) I can't even get bacon cooked like this at IHOP or Dennys. Go figure!
google avatar

Loke Y.

Yelp
Every single day... There's not a day that goes by that I'm picking up lunch from Uptown Chevron. Specials and everyday menu is the bomb!!! It's a must to get your food, snacks, drinks, gas and the FRIENDLY environment from all the workers, especially "MOMI"! "LOVE YOU FAMILIES"!!!
google avatar

Shantal P.

Yelp
Best gas stadium on maui hands down. They have a kitchen in the back that offers breakfast and lunch orders to go. Pastele stew is one of my favorites. Each day their lunch specials change and if your in a rush they always have pre made bentos in the warmers. They also make lots of dessert items. Like their gigantic Rice Krispie treats or pie squares. Great customer service as well!!!!
google avatar

Joella S.

Yelp
Uptown Chevron is the best place in Wailuku for almost all your needs. The staff is like family. They get to know their customers greeting them by name. Gas & grocery prices are affordable. The breakfast and lunch plates are so ONO! Made fresh daily. Always plenty options to pick from. My favorites are the chicken katsu and the turkey burger with sweet potato fries. Yum! Don't forget get your car washed too!
google avatar

Food C.

Yelp
call me a snob but I never eat at gas stations...but recently my valley friend brought over a piece of this delicious pumpkin crumb cake with whipped cream on top that tasted something like my gram use to spin off around the holidaze. Guess this place is a staple over there in Wailuku . Still havent seen this place for for myself, but next time I need to fill my tank when im in the valley I now where im going!
google avatar

Ray R.

Yelp
they always get the best food coming out of a gas station...not once we was like wat we jus wen put in our mouth....there coffee is better than most pit stops.....very friendly staff...
google avatar

Sharon K.

Yelp
I love this place, we eat here everyday. The service is fast, and friendly. I love that they have all different varieties of plate lunch. They have everything. One stop shop. Leimomi, is great, she is so sweet and caring. She is always helpful. I would recommend anyone to go there and just try the food. We order it, so its always ready, and she remembers our names, a greets us when we come in and when we go out. The best place to go. I love it.
google avatar

Estrella D.

Yelp
We go just for Ono Licious. They always have great food. Corn chowder and the Portuguese bean soup are our favorites. The store and gas prices seem to be a little higher than other places.
google avatar

Alan C.

Yelp
Best place for a quick bite in Wailuku. The salads always fresh and the hot food is delicious. Also got the sides, desserts and more.
google avatar

Marilyn C.

Yelp
Favorite place for lunch. They offer a variety of food and never been disappointed. Staff provide great service.

Lee L.

Yelp
Came by because we asked a local cashier where to get good musubi and this was it! We went at 1pm and they were all sold out! Went back the next morning at 7am to get one of everything! Spam musubi was delicious! They add some sort of seasoning to it but it was so good! Something you definitely don't expect from a gas station!

Samuel N.

Yelp
When not wanting to make dinner or need a fast good meal I go here. They have hot food, salads, snacks and more. All the things I have had I really like. Who would have thunk, great food from a gas station.
