As far as I know, Urban Daybreak has been well heard of and well known for, especially for their fried chicken waffle topped with eggs and baked beans. This foodie spot gains inspiration from the Australian brunch concept where I had the privilege to try out their Christmas special menu - Scrambles & Brie Tartine (which is essentially an open-faced sourdough sandwich topped with cubes of apples, brie and scrambled eggs still droopy-wet from the saucepan) and the Avocado Ricotta Tartine slabbed generously with ricotta cheese, some berry jam, walnut pieces and apricot cubes. Both are refreshing and just the right portion of light for a workday brunch shy away from a food coma. Somehow I’d prefer the avocado version due its creaminess from the combination of ingredients, it also gives off a certain tinge of fragrance and sweetness that accentuates the presentation of the dish, as a whole. In any event, we thought the dishes would not be this well done if not for the freshness and softness of the sourdough. I would love to know if they sell the sourdough in-house or if not, the fine ingredients that made up the bread.
