Yelp
This place is flat out tasty.
We came in around 8:30 after arriving into Hobart that evening from the East Coast. Hobart shuts down kind of early so we ended up pretty much shutting the place down.
But back to the food. We did the banquet option, and very course was delicious. The dips with pita were all really good. We had a flight of beetroot, pea, and capsicum dips that came with 8 small pieces of pita. My only complaint is that there wasn't enough of the delicious pita.
The appetizers consisted of a cheese croquette, fried dolma, and a zucchini (corgette) patty. I think the dolma probably would have been better without the frying. The cheese croquette was a little heavy, but the patty was pretty good. In the end, I think there was a little over-reliance on the deep fryer for this course.
The main platter of meats was very good. Both the chicken and beef were well cooked and tasty. And we got some more of the yummy pita!
The dessert of a custard in filo dough was good as well. I don't live filo dough, but I would definitely order this one again.
Finally, the service was off the charts friendly. When we asked for details about one of the wines, they did some research on where we could order it, etc. The owner spent a lot of time talking with customers about Greece and his cooking. Really great.
I would definitely return!
