Walked in, no one greeted me. I was the only customer in the store with about 4 employees just standing around looking. You all gotta change the way you judge people that come in the store.

Google
Weird shopping experience. I thought it was just me until I read the other reviews. The associates are not welcoming at all. They seem to just stare and watch you shop, never asking if you need any help, and very stand-offish. The nicest girl was at the register. So rude. I will not return.

Google
Girl at the register today was really nice but I felt like I was being watched/followed around while I was shopping. It made for a really uncomfortable shopping experience and I don't think I will be coming back.

Google
Terrible customer service. What is this supposed to be Abercrombie in the early 2000’s. Watched your cashier be extremely rude to not just myself but two other customers. I simply asked about a price in your app showing significantly cheaper than online and the only response I got back was “do you want the shirt or not!?” I’ll never be back.

Google
I went here looking for a specific purse, and color for a concert I was going to. Unfortunately, they didn't have what I needed this time! But they always have fresh, cool items in store and online for daily shipping! I occasionally drop in and see what's in store before placing an online order! Nice, clean, and always organized, too! Highly recommend!

Google
I love urban but this store has the worst associates. Their attitudes are disgusting! It was never like this when I was employed there years back. We were so fun, helpful, and friendly. Now, if you ask any of them for help or have a question, mostly none of them are knowledgeable. If there’s a concern, it’s almost like it’s an issue for them to handle it. Also, the associates at the register are the worst! I asked this black girl with long nails at the register that I wanted to use my coupon and she literally was rude when I was asking questions about it. I almost don’t want to spend another dime there Tbh.

I finally made my first visit to Urban Outfitters to redeem a gift card I received many months ago. I tried to see the interior space from outside as I had been in the building when it was an antique store. Let's just say I was not disappointed. What a beautiful space they have created. It seems vast and very open, yet somehow feels cozy and welcoming. The staff was very friendly and provided assistant as needed. The prices were a little more than I usually spend but I could tell the quality was excellent. I purchased a couple pair of fun socks and thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the store.

Google
Weird vibe while shopping with daughter. I decided to run into UO to purchase last minute items to take with me on vacation. While shopping, my daughter and I noticed that there were at least 5 employees...all watching us with vigilance and never extended a hello or any help AND then a security officer magically appears and lingers after we were there about 5 minutes. We finally approached a nice young lady at register to help (reason for 2 stars). We made our purchase. When comparing experiences afterwards, my daughter and I agreed this was an awful and embarrassing experience. Will not return.

Yelp
THIS REVIEW IS FOR UO OVERALL!! I do love the Urban Outfitters products. I believe they have some really cute home decor items as well as some clothing that would be appealing to the self-expressive young adult. Although, I will say their prices seem very extreme for what they are selling. I understand that the 70's to early 2000's styles have been very popular as of late, but UO has been one of the top clothing companies capitalizing off of that. I could def thrift an outfit that looks identical to something you could buy at UO for much cheaper. I definitely think UO has shifted demographics to rich, privileged posers. Not to mention, they have gotten in trouble in the past for selling racially offensive clothing. I'm sure they were trying to give off the vibe of the angsty teen but offending marginalized groups is not the way to go about it. I would suggest they find a better risk management team if they haven't already because some of the controversial stuff they sold in the past was WILD. FOR THIS LOCATION, I found the staff to be friendly. I bought a dress from this location a couple years ago and the staff was so sweet. They complimented my outfit and said the dress I bought looked nice on me. I would go back again!

Yelp
My father went into this store today on his 90th birthday with the e-Gift card I purchased online for $100. When he took his merchandise to the register they asked for a PIN. He had no idea what that was since he had printed out what UO had sent him. They didn't honor the email (e-Gift card) UO sent him. He lost 90 minutes on a round trip and left without the merchandise. By the way, we had to ask UO to re-send the e-Gift card originally because he hadn't received it the first time. Huge hassle which ended with me calling and requesting a refund. Memphis location leaves something to be desired.

Yelp
Want to feel old? Just stop in to shop with some other confused and sticker shocked grandparents. I remember UO on Broadway in NY City. Great fun! Silly things, cheap things, foreign, unusual and ridiculous. Maybe it's just this location or maybe I'm just a lot older, its just not fun anymore. How long can Urban Outfitters survive in the retail apocalypse? Time will tell, but I can't afford a watch from here to notify you.

Yelp
Though Urban Outfitters is a national chain, it's worth noting that their stores are all tailored to their location. Meaning, their stock varies by store and that they try to fit in with the neighborhoods that they move into. In the case of the Memphis store, that meant fixing up a long-empty building at the corner of Central and Cooper. They ripped down the building's gross stucco-y facade and exposed the original brick exterior. Inside, the two-level space is warm and inviting with shiny wood floors, exposed brick and slatted wooden dividers. You would be right to say that Urban Outfitters is something of a hipster mecca. While they have a fairly wide range of clothing for girls and guys, it's definitely targeted at those who are still at an age where taking huge fashions risks is perfectly acceptable. It's definitely trendy (there are a lot of shiny tanks and 1980s-style florals), but there are also plenty of cute basics (think solid or patterned t-shirts, jeans, hoodies, tights). The Memphis shop has pieces from the Urban Renewal line, which upcycles thrifted goods. Also, despite opening last Thursday, there's already a sale rack. While a lot of the clothing isn't really my thing, the store does have some interesting housewares and bedding. They also carry kitschy coffee table books, records (but not the same ones that you'd find at Goner or Shangri-la), Lomography cameras and bar-ware.

Yelp
DISCLAIMER: THIS IS FOR THEIR ONLINE & PHONE CUSTOMER SERVICE. TERRIBLE!! I purchased a pair of skates online and was not notified until AFTER I purchased them from the confirmation email that the skates would not be available until after June 16! So I spoke with someone from the chat line and they are very helpful! They even informed me that a different color of the skates would be available next week on May 11! Unfortunately they wasn't able to put the purchase in for me so after speaking with them I went online and tried to purchase the green pair that would be available! I noticed that I did not receive an confirmation email but I received a notification from my card saying that was payment was made. So I reached out to someone through the chat room again to inform them about my issue. I was told someone would contact me within 24hr. No one had contacted me so I decided to contact them by phone. HERES WHAT ALMOST JUST MADE ME CRY! The lady I had the pleasure of speaking with was completely UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE from the moment we began talking. I am not sure if she hates her job or maybe had just finish speaking with a rude customer before but I never got rude with her. I tried my best to look over her rudeness because my goal was to just get my skates ordered even if it meant I needed to reorder & maybe use a different card or whatever needed to be done. I was prepared to even give them more money. That is just how bad I wanted the skates. But now the green pair are saying they will not be available until June 16 as well and to them it didn't matter that I had tried to purchase it when they were available May 11. I even tried to compliment the lady & tell her to have a wonderful day and she just say "umhm you too" then disconnected the call. I'm not sure if their calls are recorded but if they are they will see that I had more professionalism than their own customer service staff and that is very sorry to say. My experience has been extremely unsuccessful and I feel I just had a whole runaround.

Yelp
I love the actual store but am having a HUGE problem with their online ordering. I just ordered something that I specifically ordered from them b/c it was "in store pick up in 24 hrs." Then AFTER I made the payment it has a bright note under the items stating they are "on backorder and will ship after 12/26/18. Hello??? I wasn't shipping anything. So I try to cancel order. Not having any of it. Unable to cancel order five minutes after hitting 'place order'. Ridiculous. I will only buy form this place IN STORE from now on. Not a happy customer.

Swati P.

Yelp
I typically stay away from this UO due to the reviews, but after receiving a damaged skirt (zipper was broken) from a recent online order, I decided to take my chances and see if I could return it at this location. Not only did they take the skirt back, they also ordered me a new one and shipped it to my address free of charge! I've always been greeted and assisted whenever I needed to find an item, but this is probably due to the fact that I try to visit during low traffic hours. Also, if an item is marked down on the website and you find it in store with a different price, they will match the price (if you let them know).

Yelp
Our family stopped in here on our walk back to our AirBnB. Both kids are teens, so this was right up their alley. It was nice to walk around and look at all the retro items in stock that are apparently cool again. The staff was pleasant and helpful and didn't hover. One of our kids wanted some shoes on sale, but they were out of his size. One of the associates helped us out by discovering we could order his size online. So once we got back to our place, that's what we did. Our other kiddo found herself an item on sale and walked the rest of the way back feeling happy.

Yelp
I'm done with this Urban Outfitters. I've been to many a UO in my life and have had alright experiences. Something about this location is just No Bueno though. I've gone multiple times since we moved here to Memphis and everything I find is just either overpriced or boring compared to other locations. Whoever is in charge of ordering their inventory needs to take a lesson from the Urban Outfitters around Virginia and Washington D.C.. There are always exciting things to find there. And let's be honest, most of us can only afford the things we find in the sale section. Unfortunately there are never any good deals unless you want to buy something that you could have purchased over at Goodwill for about 1/100th of the price.

Yelp
wow! the WORST customer service experience of my life !! have my daughter in from japan, shopping the afternoon away, my daughter trying on clothes so i ask- do you have a restroom?- the dressing room guy tells me - no we don't have one. Strange -what do the employees do? - then we go to check out and i hear a woman ask the cashier - do you have a restroom? - so he calls someone and says you have to walk down the steps and they will let you in. why is that? suddenly a restroom ? because i am 58 and white? because they don't know the state law says it's illegal to not provide access ? and i know because i own retail stores? because they discriminate on age? color? WHAT is it? I am calling the memphis tn store manager tomorrow since she was not in today. name Lindsey Reilly my name - Carol Price also sending this to local news channel contact and friends p.s. just wanted to check my contacts - but glad to find out how you train and treat people pretty pathetic

Yelp
I love this location. I come here all the time for different cool clothes that you just can't find anywhere else in the city. Most of the stuff here is a little overpriced, but if you time the sales well you can get some really great deals. The sales associates are friendly and very well-dressed. I love the interior decoration of the store and the playlist is always on point. I wish I could get that playlist for myself. It doesn't have as many clothes as urban outfitters does in bigger cities, that's for sure. I'm a guy so I can't comment on the women's clothes. The guy section is pretty small and there aren't a ton of options, honestly. However, I think they do a good job of picking out some nice pieces here and there. This store is in Midtown near the Cooper Young area. It's also across the street from the new popular place called Railgarden. I highly recommend this UO store.

Yelp
I love this store, I get a happy hello every time I walk through the door, the store itself is awesome, there always are lots of good sale items and lots of new items! The sales people are friendly but not annoying and the fitting room people are always helpful. I get good quality clothing and shoes and jewelry and home decor items for my money and I always leave happy. I have been a customer for about 3 years now!

Yelp
My last trip to Urban Outfitters! I have been a solid monthly customer (I have a teenager). We had to say goodbye to UO today on principle. They refused to let me use their restroom. They directed me to the service station across the street. I ran across the busy street to the Mapco - their restrooms were out of order (probably tired of allowing UO customers coming over). I came back to UO pleading for mercy- no again, told me to try some pizza place down the street. I couldn't find it! On a Sunday, in that area, there was no where to go. After telling the manager I would never come back there, we left without the things we had come to purchase. My teenager learned a very good lesson on what constitutes HORRIBLE customer service. Thanks, Urban Outfitters!

Yelp
This place has been growing on me. It can be pretty expensive for some basic necessities. Half the stuff I try on makes me look homeless. And not the cute mary kate olsen kind. If i go in there, I usually hit up the discounted rack to justify obscene amounts they are asking for. Still end up spending 100 plus dollars. Oh well.

Happy F.

Yelp
We had been driving by this place since they opened and never stopped in. I'm glad we finally took time to check it out. I like this place. Nice urban style clothes at reasonable prices. No salespeople pressuring you to buy something. The design of the store was nice and urban as well. If you hadn't stopped in to check it out stop in you won't regret it.

Tony H.

Yelp
I've had poor customer service a few times in my life, but this place tops them all. Its not like this store has things another store doesn't. And with so many others to compete with, seems like quality customer service would be on the agenda. If you want some assistance you better ask another shopper. I've been in retail many years myself. And trust me I'm not one of those that want my hand held. Very dirty store, drinks behind the counter...I could go on and on...my point has been made. Maybe the DM sees this and cleans house!! It is needed!

Harmony T.

Yelp
I am from Toronto and when I found out there was an Urban location here I was relieved. I don't subscribe to typical local fashion. This store is awesome for nerdy and quirky home stuffs, drinking parphernalia and accesories. They have a nice albeit overpriced selection of Converse.

Emily S.

Yelp
I guess I don't fit into the typical UO shopper because the last few times I've been in the store, I was completely ignored by staff while everyone around me was greeted warmly and asked how they were doing. I've worked in retail and customer service my entire adulthood, so I'm acutely aware how busy associates are, but that they have time to speak to everyone -- whether they're cool or not. I ended up leaving without making a purchase. I'll do my shopping online from now on.

Lauren S.

Yelp
This is a great Urban Outfitters! Way better selection and sale section than the Nashville store. Even though there was a big crowd, there wasn't a line to check out or to try on clothes. I'll be returning the next time I'm in town!!

Carolyn M.

Yelp
Awesome urban outfitters! So chic inside and I could look around forever

Amelia G.

Yelp
The UO store in midtown is a beautiful, nicely laid-out store. I'm young, thin, and don't mind spending a few more bucks on quality clothes. However, this store employs rude, unhelpful jerks who cannot be bothered to do anything but look at you sideways when you ask for anything. I was super excited to have this store here, but I find myself shopping on the website more often than not. At least their online customer service is good. So, I would suggest they ditch the snobby kids and hire some people who, you know, ARE NICE.

Arthur H.

Yelp
The First UO in memphis!!!! I think memphians are happy to see a big chain stylish clothing store open in mid-town, memphis. However, the store is still lack of new clothing since the store just opened today. Will see how it goes.

Monica M.

Yelp
Bought blue jeans a week before Christmas, wrong size so took them back day after Christmas and they were on sale 30% off. Urban Outfitters Memphis would not honor the sales price on the exchange for the same pair of pants but different size. Okay in theory I could have returned the pants and come back 5 minutes later and buy them on sale and beat the system but I expected this store to be legit. HUGE ripoff - every other big box store lets you have the sale price. Especially when you are buying yet more items on the second trip there. Will never shop here again. This is bad business.

Tiffany H.

Yelp
Customer service in this location is horrific I am a store manager myself for another retail corp and have 17 years experience in customer service the employees at this location are too worried about talking to each other than to customers and they treat everyone who walks in like they are a thief this is why urban outfitters has been struggling, hire top talent for your stores who care about the customers and maybe people will want to shop there I will Never go back !

Danni B.

Yelp
Okay so I will start by saying that UO is one of my top 3 favorite stores to shop. Now when I visited the Memphis location the vibe was cool at first. But as I started to walk around and look in the womens section, the clearance section, the mens section, near the dressing room, and towards the front, I noticed this same employee lurking no matter where I went. I could be sensitive and say she was following me around thinking I had bad intentions but I will be nice and say that she was just close by in case I needed help. I felt a bit uncomfortable though. But I bought accessories, and a couple books, a journal and wanted to buy a couple pairs of shoes but I didn't. They have cute clothes in the store but the most variety is online and there is a better chance at getting your size online too. My total was right around 100 dollars just for the minor items. They are a bit pricey but to me their products are worth it. They just needed nicer and welcoming employees at that time.
