Urban Outfitters in Tyson’s Corner mall, VA is a specialty retail store for Men and Women with an emphasis on lifestyle accent. Most of the men’s selection is casual, sporty, trendy and edgy. Urban Outfitters inspires its customers with a distinctive products that have unique designs. The staff is helpful.

Lexy was extremely helpful in finding the articles I needed. Her positive attitude and great spirit made my experience truly enjoyable.

Only sells clothes for tiny people, apparently. Do better

I purchased Asics sneakers from the UO website. It was absolutely NOT clear it was a 3rd party sale. Even the link to return says return in store. ALL my confirmation emails were from UO. I read. I’m not stupid. I went into the store per the link to return. The link UO SENT ME. I couldn’t return In phone with supervisor for UO for 30+ minutes with no resolution. They submitted a return request (unknown if it’s fulfilled) for 3-5 business days. No confirmation of any of this My time to drive to Tysons. My time in store. My time to return again Others will give up. This is ridiculous. It’s fraud. Pure fraud when my links show to return in store So buyer beware of anything 3rd party. The manager was great and patient. I was very unhappy. I can’t say enough about her even though she couldn’t resolve

Nice, big selection of clothes and accessories. Knowledgeable and attentive staff.

I love shopping online at Urban, but the in-store experience isn't my favorite. I did an in-store pickup once but it took longer than shopping in-store myself would have. I got an email that my order was ready, but when I went to pick it up I was told they were still putting my order together and ended up waiting longer. I would highly recommend not doing in-store pickup.

A very popular clothing store for the modern person. They sell small little trinkets and keepsakes as well Very busy store. Experienced long lines during the holidays but the item purchased was worth the wait in line. The price was reasonable and it was just the right fit for the person it was gifted to. Would definately return again.

Google
The store looks nice and many of the clothes look good, but if you buy stuff you're paying a pretty hefty premium for brand name. The store does a good job and matching with modern trends, but I can't bring myself to spend $45 on a normal t-shirt

Yelp
store hours on site arent accurate or the workers close early on their own and rush people out

Yelp
My Urban Outfitters order was contracted to Ryder, which contracted to JW Logistics. JW contracted this again to another delivery contractor. According to tracking information they have had my delivery for over 2 weeks and have not even attempted to contact me to schedule delivery. I had to contact them. They now say it will be 8 days until I will get my delivery because they "have no one in the area" but the delivery person will deliver it on a day next week. I inquired further and asked if it was an employee and they stated it was a contractor. This is a horribly inefficient business that has no communication with the customer. It took multiple unanswered calls, over 5 days to get into contact with them because they don't answer their phones.

Yelp
So to echo what others have written, Urban Outfitters (which thankfully isn't as "hot" as it used to be with the younger set) is nevertheless still fun to browse and get some neat gift ideas. But seriously, the quality isn't great and it is REALLY OVERPRICED. Even for items that are sold elsewhere, UO believes it can charge a premium just because they'll give you a fabric bag to carry it out in. No thanks.

Kenicia T.

Yelp
My biggest pet peeve is when sales associates walk up to me and tell me they are closing in 15minutes. It's like the opposite of what a "sales" associate was hired to, right? The most kind way to tell people that your store is closing is to turn the music off, start closing registers, and half way close your overhead gate/door. But to spend time rushing people out of your store because you want to go home is the most unprofessional and annoying skill. Sales something sales associate....

Yelp
Helpful tip! the store hours posted online and in store are wrong. Im not sure what time they do open but its not 11am. Hopefully they get that sorted soon!

Yelp
First off, this used to be my favorite store in high school because they had unique clothing. Now it's all just boring and basic and ugly. The quality has also gone down through time and prices remain the same. I have been disappointed with Urban Outfitters again and again to the point where I almost debate walking in or not now. Now, for THIS LOCATION specifically: I like the selection, they are usually well stocked but then again, I haven't bought anything because they're clothes usually suck now. Everyone I have EVER encountered here in my 6+ years of shopping at this location ALWAYS seems high. I don't know what it is, but they're service is lackluster and so is their demeanor. Terrible, but not something I would care too much about if their clothes were unique.

Yelp
This place is so cool and so weird at the same time. I'v never really understood this store but love to occasionally walk in. They have very "out of this world" cool gadgets for sale. I just saw a record player that I almost purchased and not to mention the million actual records they have. I mean, WHAT? who has that anymore now-a-days? I thought it was totally cool and will be going back this weekend to purchase one :) They also have those cool polaroid cameras, remember those? well if you're old enough i'm sure you do., snap and the picture pops out? AWESOME! Also going back for one of those. I'm not a fan of their clothes though, but then again, I guess I just never really paid attention to them much? hmmm, maybe i'll try that next time. I'm only giving them 3 stars because they didn't have a large collection of fun toys to play with this time around, but I'm hoping the 3 stars turns into 5 when I get my Record Player and Polaroid Camera :)

Yelp
Ducking worst. Tell you to go self checkout and you prep to wait forever to go back to the line

Yelp
In my opinion, UrbanOutfitters is an overpriced Forever 21. Most of the brands sold at Urban are unknown. I bought a gorgeous off- the shoulder royal blue (my fav color!) top 1 year ago. I was absolutely psyched to wear it out for the night. Sadly, that was the one and only time I wore it :( Tag said machine- wash so I threw it in the washer inside a laundry bag, and what did I get back 40 minutes later??? A dis-proportioned, stretched width-wise, shrunk length-wise, top with a huge hole near the shoulder area. I was SO disappointed. For the price I paid, the material could be at least somewhat durable to last through ONE wash! The once- gorgeous royal blue top went straight to the trash :( Sad sad life... Ever since that experience, I've been very wary of what I buy at UrbanOutfitters. Material (clothes AND purses) is EXTREMELY cheap. However, they do have some of those eclectic, quirky items that you probably won't find elsewhere. Fun books. Chic Furniture. Weird Gadgets. If you're into those kind of stuff, I'd say go that those items (which would last longer) than the clothes.

Yelp
This place sucks. They sold a defective vinyl album, given to me as a gift, with a $30.99 price tag and when I tried to exchange it they said they would only credit me $1.99. I told them they could keep the album. Never shipping here again. Did I say this place sucks?

Yelp
What do I love as much as meat? 5 points if you guessed shopping for bargains. Mid-afternoon yesterday, the hunger pangs set in for kabobs but it was so many hours away. When the clock struck 5:30, I couldn't concentrate at work any more so I skipped on over to Tysons' just to see what I could find in an hour's time to take my mind of lusting for kabobs. After playing "Let's see what I can find for $5 or less" at Old Navy and leaving empty-handed, I went over to U.O. to play "Let's see what I can find for $10 or less". I'm not angsty, hipster or emo enough to wear U.O.'s overpriced made-in-India rags so I usually focus my trips there on the funky housewares and decor. Most of the contemporary, mass-produced wall art in my apartment is from U.O.'s sale section. The sales at this location are not as good as the ones at Georgetown on the lower level. For whatever reason, I did a quick once-through of the scattered sales area. I couldn't believe my eyes when I landed on a pair of Mavi jeans for $10 (down from $100!). I owned one pair of Mavi jeans previously that I loved after agonizing over and paid the sale price of $50 for a Nordstrom and within a few months my paunch-gut-food baby-inner tube expanded to the point I couldn't button them. It was a bittersweet day. But now I have a replacement pair that fits perfectly and I don't need tailoring. Yay! Mavi is a brand out of Istanbul, Turkey that makes the best already-broken-in jeans in my opinion. The designs tend to be basic with clean lines as I prefer a minimalist style. I loathe ornamental crap on the backside of my jeans and I don't need to walk around looking like a haberdashery threw up on my clothes. Let's face it ladies, most of us have enough going on in that area, do you really need that bedazzler jewel-encrusted design/script to augment your badonk-a-donk? Just sayin'. If you're into spending $100+ on a nice fitting pair of comfortable, well-made jeans, you should check out http://www.mavi.com or go to a major retailer.

Yelp
There isn't anything too special about this store. It's your typical UO location. Caution: If you're buying a t-shirt from this location, inspect where the sensor was pinned-in. This store has sold me three $35 t-shirts with the leftover holes in the wrong place. Trust me, you probably will want to wear that $35 shirt more than twice, so make sure the sensor was pinned-in correctly!

Yelp
Clothes are just okay, but probably won't last you an extremely long time. If you're into that scene, go for it, I guess. I can always find some cute things for my apartment here: random Hello Kitty things, weird grow something or other out of something or other. Salespeople here are hit or miss. None are uber helpful. Most range from spacey to apathetic to "I don't care, I'm too cool for you". Meh.
google avatar

M B.

Yelp
How could you not love Urban? They have the cutest, coolest, most unique things! They really have a great selection of things for everyone, whether you're more unique, or go with the flow fashion-wise. They also have lots of great accessories, too. And really fun things for your household that can be used as gifts. They're definitely on the pricey side, but they also have a lot of stuff on sale too. This particular location is about the same size as the Georgetown location, maybe a little smaller. It's in a convenient location too, right in Tyson's.

Yelp
I've loved Urban Outfitters ever since my first trip in Philadelphia. A lot of my clothes are from here. Sure, call me a hipster. I really don't care. This store is pretty great. Its big, though not as big as the one on Walnut St in Philly, which is what I've grown accustomed to. But still. Its big. The selection is decent but not up to UO standards. One annoying thing is that a lot of the clothes aren't out in the open. I found a bunch of cool crew neck sweaters by accident on my last trip that were on the bottom shelf of a stand and behind a rack of other shirts. So while the store is big, the layout isn't well designed. I don't ever recall seeing any home goods at this store, which is something I've actually really come to like at UO. I want to put a lot of their merch in my apartment. This store doesn't have any unfortunately. The staff here is friendly, when you actually talk to them. I've never been approached by an employee here asking if I needed help. Its nice being able to shop without being approached, but I will admit in the current store culture where I'm always being approached, its weird. They're all pretty young too, about the same age as the average of people who shop here. I'll say 22. Check out has always been fast. So yeah, great store if UO is your kind of thing. I just wish it was bigger and better laid out and that it had a home goods section.

Yelp
Urban Outfitters was made for my boys. Both are very slim and have a difficult finding clothes that fit. This location uses about 75% of their store for women's clothing - which is why I only gave 3 stars. The men's section was quite limited and a tiny sale section. The locations in California have more options for guys.
google avatar

Kris L.

Yelp
The service at this urban outfitters was surprisingly notable. They staff was friendly (but not overly friendly) and very helpful. Staff in the fitting rooms were constantly assisting and someone who was folding clothes came over to open another register when we showed up to pay. I rarely yelp about stores, but the service was just that memorable :)
google avatar

Alicia R.

Yelp
Urban Outfitters gets a lot of hate from people who say their clothes are overpriced. Well, they are. BUT their sale items are marked down a TON. I got this jacket for 10 bucks that was originally 140. Need I say more? I only go to browse the sale items but I have to warn you, the quality of a lot of the clothes they sell there will NOT last you. If you're looking for an item to wear around a few times, fine. But if you're looking for a staple best to head over to Macy's and pick up some Ralph Lauren or something that will last.
google avatar

Katie F.

Yelp
Whoa! Hit up the woman's 50% off sale this weekend, and now I can look like my hipster students for 10 dollars a shirt. Its like a gosh darn guilty pleasure.
google avatar

Yousi F.

Yelp
This is one of the smallest urban outfitters I have been to, and yet- despite being small and appearing to have more staff than customers, the customer service is horrible-- i asked one salesgirl for a "fair Isle" style sweater and she didnt know what a "fair isle" print one-- working at a store in winter that is full of fair isle style merchandise! the lines are long and i dont understand why checkout seems so unnecessarily complicated here. Unless you absolutely NEED to buy something from this location, you are better off going on line or to the china town or gtown locations.
google avatar

Maddie R.

Yelp
Huge selection & a very friendly staff! I would give it 5 stars but many of the items in the sale section are damaged (ripped, sewn wrong, etc) and there is no notification of this on the tags. I've been close to buying a few items until realizing upon trying them on that they had snags or missing buttons.
google avatar

Princess A.

Yelp
Ehh not my type of store, I go in here because my friends like it otherwise I prefer not to shop here; way overpriced and the clothes are not that great.
google avatar

Sara D.

Yelp
Are all of these other reviews a joke? Urban Outfitters is amazing. If you know full well from the windows that it doesn't suit your style, then don't go in. Yes, shirts are not $20...it's not Target. Altho, you can usually find some sweet sale items for $20 or less. Urban is great, and this year their style is just as good as ever, if not better.
google avatar

Yelp
I love Urban Outfitters, they always have such cool stuff and great clothes. I also love the fact that they sell Munnys here!!!

Kaz I.

Yelp
I'm giving this place 2 stars because they do have some nice stuff with interesting patterns that you don't get elsewhere. It's also about the only place you can go in winter if you don't want to wear black or gray. However, this particular store needs to get it together. My gripe is mostly with the exceedingly bad customer service. I've been in there twice recently and I've had terrible experiences both times. The first I was accused of shoplifting because I walked past the security gates and they beeped. At the same time another person was walking back in because someone had clearly forgotten to take the tag off one of their items. The person at the door asked me repeatedly to walk past the gates (which I did) and she couldn't figure out why it wasn't beeping this time. Then she wanted to search through my purse even though it clearly wasn't even me that beeped! This was a humiliating experience to say the least. No apology either, of course. The second time I came to bring back a pair of shoes that I'd bought from there several weeks earlier. I'd only worn them once and they practically fell apart. This was an expensive pair of shoes! The person at the counter looked at them and insisted that they had been worn a lot more than once because of the scuffing on the bottom. I explained that the scuffing was clearly caused by the poor quality of the shoes and I'd only worn them for maybe 2 hours walking around. Knowing this place, of course they didn't give me a refund for their faulty merchandise, but store credit instead. All of this done with a horrid attitude. My suggestion would be to avoid this place and go to Georgetown instead. These people need to get over themselves if they're going to work in retail.

Cedar W.

Yelp
Urban Outfitters is not a good establishment. Terrible quality clothing for exorbitant prices, capitalizing on "hipster" trends. Some of their wares would be cool - if they were priced much, much lower. It's great to see a store in a mall selling vinyl, but not for the prices they charge.

Matthew P.

Yelp
Though i always find stuff at this location, the customer service is terrible. They are rude and many of them look like they rolled out of bed. The store is small with only one floor and is half the size of both of their DC locations. The employees fail to explain the return policy or end up charging you wrong especially on the sale items. Next time take a little time out of your day to go to the cleaner, bigger, and more professional urban outfitters in either Chinatown or Georgetown.

Alexis C.

Yelp
Customer service is terrible! Busiest day of the week(Saturday) and they have literally just one person working the register. Floor people were extremely rude and unknowlegable as well! If I didn't like UO's clothing so much, I would definitely not shop here.

Odile D.

Yelp
Okay so clothes are sweet ass, sale selection is alright, nice boy selection; which I look at to plan the perfect outfit for the perfect boyfriend. So it's really the employees. You saw my one for Georgetown and I raved and raved about it. So, a majority of the employees here are really sweet, fun, funny; there's this one guy who I always have conversations with because I just like talking to him. BUT then, there's a handful that are so sassy and bitchy, and you don't treat costumers like that. Sorry that you're flamboyant and even more feminine than me "Asian Barbie," but really turn that bitch-tude off. Then there's this one girl who always looks like she has a sour face on. So really, they just need to turn that sass off, which is why I prefer Georgetowne's and only go there because it's more convenient for people to take me/go with me.

Princia M.

Yelp
Terrible customer service! My friend and I went to Tysons Corner Mall looking for my birthday outfit and was treated very badly! The manager was very mean to us and the cashier working there told us he did it to all of the minorities that walk in! I felt very sad because I'm not from here and I've never been treated so bad at a store especially urban outfitters! I actually wanted to cry! I WOULD NEVER COME BACK! GOING TO GEORGETOWN

Doris B.

Yelp
I came here recently to make returns. I had purchased some things for my daughter and the quality first of all was very poor. But worse than that, when I tried to return the things, it took them FOREVER. I can't even understand why it took so long. 15 minutes to return 3 shirts? Why? Simple things like this will probably prevent me from purchasing things from this store again. It's not worth the hassle.

Lynda J.

Yelp
i LOVE this store. does anyone know where you can buy the wallpaper that is outside of the store? the navy wallpaper with chandeliers on it?

sarah j.

Yelp
I love this store! My only complaint is that the staff was a little rude. But as far as the merch goes I'm a huge fan! reasonable prices for some cool stuff you can't find anywhere else!

Attilio S.

Yelp
I do not understand how Urban outfitters is able to sell such cheaply made clothes for such ridiculous prices! I know that this is a common theme in these clothing retail stores marketed towards the younger demographic, but Urban outfitters is the most prolific perpetrator i know of. Poor parents don't know what there kids are spending their money on. Cheaply made clothes for ignorant buyers with distracted and patronizing customer service. No thank you

Erin R.

Yelp
Urban Outfitters is a fun store. I love all the quirky books they have and all the little gadgets like hamburger phones and what not. The cameras are awesome too. Love the clothes!

Wolvie B.

Yelp
Ordered items online. Two items, a sweater and a bag. They used "Laser Ship," and as I was tracking my package, it showed "delivered, front door signed." We never received it, never signed for it, and were confused. So we called Laser Ship, and Laser ship said the carrier put the package back in the truck. The next day, it said delivered again, but of-course it wasn't. So, I called Laser Ship, they said they lost the package. Called Urban Outfiters, spoke to the same lady I spoke with yesterday when I called, and she said they will send the items again. I must of asked about 3 times, if they would please use a different shipping company rather than Laser Ship, and she said yes of-course. Come-today, I see that they used Laser Ship yet again. Look at the reviews of Laser Ship, they are horrible. They are stealing our stuff guys, and Urban Outfitters is not doing anything about it.
