Urban Residences Rotterdam

Stayed there for Valentines Day and I must say the service of the hotel is very nice. Although the rooms where not very nice and neat and had some problems due to maintenance issues I have never met such a nice gentleman in the reception during the night. This gentleman, his name was Joy or Joe, was a very nice gentleman and he was very professional. On the questions about the location and Rotterdam city he helped with it all. My compliments to this nice young man. If the hotel would update the appartements we will return but if not we would rather search for a different location for our next visit to Rotterdam.

Do not recommend. Consistent with other reviewers, corner studio room on 7th floor was dirty, had a strange sewage smell coming from the shower drain and is very worn. The shower leaks and the floor has cracks throughout. The white kitchen counters are permanently stained with wine and other items. The curtains are dirty and the unit is not well maintained. Customer service is non existent and the front desk staff are rude. I am sure they are doing the best they can with a poorly maintained unit. I would recommend another lodging option. The view and location are stellar, which are the only benefits.

Location: Amazing! The hotel is in the center of the city right in the middle of the shopping district, so it doesn't get any better than that. Everything you need is within walking distance- shoping, groceries, restaurants, sightseeing. Parking: Having the paid parking garage on premises was a huge plus. Very convinient to have the car elevator to take you the the parking garage from where you can take the elevator to take you to the front desk or your designated floor. Rooms: We stayed at the 2 bedroom/1.5 bathroom apartment on the 14th floor and the view from the floor to ceiling windows was amazing, unbeatable! Great, modern design, huge comfortable sofa. There was also a huge balcony to enjoy the view and the fresh air, although it could be a little windy as expected on higher floors. Huge living room with fully equipped kitchen and washer/dryer in the room were provided and proved to be very useful for our stay of 2 adults and 2 kids. However, the bathroom and the toilet definitely needed some attention from the cleaning stuff and maintenance. The bathroom was very bare, paint was peeling, there was mold in the shower and around the sink. There was no carpet/ rugs on the floor , so the cracks on the concrete floor were visible. Front desk: friendly and qvailable 24/7. Overall very good stay!

The location of the hotel is the only good thing about the hotel. Front office sucks an they try to charge you for late check out. There are only 2 elevators in the hotel and you will not be able to check out on time as the elevators are always full and the front desk will force to charge you a late check out fee. Such a stupid hotel policy. I stayed at the James hotel less than 100m away and its way better in the service and comfort of the room. The urban residences is dated, old and the glassware are chipped ! Will never stay again

Everything in this room that could possibly be broken is broken. The level of service is beyond unacceptable — I would have received better treatment sleeping under a bridge. The heating does not work at all, despite outside temperatures of -1°C. We were forced to stay in a freezing cold room, which is absolutely unacceptable. The reception staff is completely useless. No one is willing to help, no one takes responsibility, and the staff clearly has no interest whatsoever in assisting guests. The bathroom is disgusting and completely covered in thick limescale, clearly showing a total lack of cleaning and maintenance. We stayed here for 4 days over Christmas, and it was an absolute horror from start to finish. This was by far one of the worst accommodations I have ever experienced. Charging 480€ for a dirty, broken, freezing room with zero support is nothing short of a scam. Never again. Avoid this place at all costs. Room 182

Here at urban residences Rotterdam they do not treat you like an actual human being. If you want to be treated like straight up garbage then choosing to stay here will fit. Ima be fully transparent, me and my friends came back from a night out in Rotterdam and wanted to continue our hangout back in our resident housing that we booked. The reception came up and told us that only 4 ppl are allowed to be in a room at a time and we were unaware of this rule prior to booking. We said okay we'll wrap things up and call it a night but he came back a second time when there were only 4 ppl still in the room and said we were being too loud and turn off the speaker. Our speaker was on a respectful volume but we said okay sorry we will turn off the speaker. Then he came back up a second time and said we were talking too loud and if we don't go to sleep then he will call the cops. We feel as though if anyone books a room to stay anywhere, they are allowed to stay up and chat for however long they want to (we were even whispering to be polite). He said there were noise complaints which I asked did people call in and he said no but they did let him know and I felt as though he was lying so I asked him can he show me proof of this but he said no he won't. I felt as though this was a hate crime situation because we are Asian. We heard other people partying within our floor and they were being way louder than us and he just told them to stop and let them slide. They did not get kicked out although we still heard them talking as well. He ended up calling the cops and saying we were being loud and disrespectful and not complying. We tried to talk to him one more time, apologized for a mistake but he would not allow it. He really wanted to kick us out so bad and it felt like he did it out of spite of our race and not for the sake of other guest. He then kicked us out at about 4am, yes he kicked us out at 4am to the streets and gave us no time to find a hotel. When the police came they said give them some time to pack up and leave but when we were in the lobby he said 5 mins and you guys have to get out before I call the cops again. At this point we did not have a hotel secured yet and we were scared to get in any more trouble so we listened to him and left. The weather outside was cold/windy and we were left stranded. If I could give this place negative stars I would. My rug also smelled like rotten onions, showers were dirty and my friend got bed bug bites. If you don't believe my experience, I'll at least provide pictures of how dirty the place is and my friends bug bites

The apartments show some age 🕰️, which is something to consider. Service was adequate, neither exceptional nor poor. The location, however, is a definite plus for exploring the area. 📍 It's quite convenient. 🚶‍♀️

Rented an appartment last week Friday for €429 euros a night with a €500 deposit ! When I got there I was told that the previous people had left the appartment smelling of fish and that they that to open all the windows and doors in the appartment. Mind you this appartment was on the 14th floor with an amazing view but it was absolutely freezing in Rotterdam and the appartment was really cold because they tried to air out the bad odour. The heater wasn’t working ! And we was forced to spend out evening in the appartment with a fishy smell and with our coats on because it was super cold ! The reception couldn’t help me get an electric heater either ! When we checked out I asked if someone could come inspect the appartment while we was still there to make sure we would get our deposit back and they said they was 2 busy ! I later noticed they deducted almost €200 from the deposit because they said we didn’t put the cups on the dis washer and smoked! Which wasn’t correct at all ! Send an email on Monday and still no reply! I

I stayed at this property for a conference I had in Rotterdam. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are very generous in size, plus a great balcony overlooking downtown. The price of the room per night is great value and it's right in the heart of town. If you rent a car or have a car, you'll be thrilled to try out the car elevator! It's a weird sensation, but cool nonetheless... I'd give this 5 stars, but the shower was horrible, with the water dribbling out at full blast. Allocate 30 minutes for a simple shower. Based on bathing, I'd give this Hotel-Apartment 1 Star, but again, the property is great and the staff are great.

No A/C, we had a very difficult time staying at the apartment it was pretty hot, and the bathroom sink was not draining properly. However the staff was friendly and the place was clean and in good shape.
