"Specializing in richly aromatic Indo-Persian Awadhi cuisine, Tushar Tondvalkar’s terrific ghost kitchen Urban Tadka opened in early 2020 and seriously upped Vancouver’s takeout game with offerings like slow-roasted chicken thighs smothered in almond paste and marrow-heavy goat shank."

I had their food during curry cup and they made a really delicious dish in that competition. So, i was really excited to try them. I ordered their goat combo yesterday. I am very disappointed to say that the goat salan was not fresh. It had a weird taste to it, i was sure that the onions went bad. It had throw it out. The chicken tikka kabob was not bad but it could have been made more flavorful. I had high expectations from this place but now i am only disappointed

Google
Horrible! I was looking forward to trying this place since I've been following them on instagram and food looks amazing but let me tell you this was the worst experience with food delivery I ever had! First if all took an hour to prepare my food. Then when it finally arrived it was cold, ordered butter chicken which tasted like canned tomato soup it was watery and no flavor. The nasn was clearly store bought and tasted like the stuff u get at superstore. I also ordered goat curry which was flavorless and the meat was tough and tasted like it had just been thawed out from tbe freezer. The chicken kebabs were burnt and chewey. The whole meal was inedible. So disappointing.

Did takeout from Urban Tadka today. I love East Indian cuisine and have had lots but oh boy the food here is really something! My chicken dish had caramelized onions in a deeply complex flavourful sauce. Like nothing I’ve had. I’m a fan now!!

Google
One of the best butter chicken in the city. Also love that they have curry offerings that I have not found in other traditional restaurants. I like ordering a bunch of frozen curries and chapati to have around for when I'm tight on cooking time.

Best authentic Indian food ever. Feels like I was eating in India for sure. I recommend the Goat Salan, Nalli Nihari and Goat Bhuna. Delicious! Always order from them when my GF is nostalgic of home.

Google
Average experience. Poor service. Mistake in order. Delivery thought DoorDash didn’t work and we had to pick up. Dal, veggie Khorma, chicken tikka and paneer tikka were just ok. We really liked the chicken Khorma. Naan was store bought. Over all the dishes lacked sparkle.

Best Indian food I've had in Vancouver, hands down!! I've eaten here twice within the last week and can't wait for my next meal with them.

Yelp
Only for delivery they should mention that in the ad. Drove all the way over for nothing. It's not that hard to make a spot for people to eat there

Yelp
Urban Tadka specializes in Awadhi cuisine (a.k.a Royal Indian Cuisine) delivered right to your door via Uber Eats, Foodora & Doordash. They specialize in slow cooked curries and charcoal grilled kebabs. Last night I ordered Chicken Hariyali & Murgh Mussallam. The chicken hariyali is chicken marinated in cilantro, mint and green chillies and then char grilled to perfection. The meat is soft and juicy. The Murgh Musallam is 2 pieces of chicken legs, slowly cooked in an almond & onion paste with house-made spices. The chicken is tender and the sauce is delicious. Also the takeout containers are compostable / biodegradable. Can't wait to try other things on their menu Food : Delicious Worth the price : Yes

Yelp
Finally! Great Indian delivery in East Van. Since moving to Strathcona (and away from our favourite place, Tandoori Fusion in Kitsilano) we've been struggling to find our go-to place. Our search is over. Lots of spices, no skimping, and they have three dishes with goat. Delicious delicious goat! The only downsides, there is a slightly limited menu, and given that it's a ghost kitchen, I'd expect prices to be a little lower. That said, worth the price given the crappy options we're facing elsewhere!

Yelp
Uber eats. I ordered the goat combo (chicken tikka kebab, mutton salan, rice, and naan). Chicken is juicy. The mint sauce is bitter but tasty. Mutton salan is sweet and spicy. Naan is soft and doughy.

Yelp
I heard a lot of good things about Urban tadka from a friend and Wanted to try it myself, indeed it was a good decision. I ordered for Nalli Nihari and a chicken combo which was plated very well. The aroma of Nalli Nihari was subtle, beautifully tender meat, the sourness of the lemon, that bright leafy cilantro, the ginger spice Everything so perfect. Chicken combo came with Chicken korma, chicken tikka, Rice and Naan. Portion size was great. The chicken korma was flavoured with cashews and had a richness in itself, nice and thick golden retreat it was with juicy chunks of chicken, had a few notes of garlic, cumin and creamy texture. Would love to order again. Chicken tikka marination was perfect and the smoky flavour from charcoal was fabulous, chicken was nice and juicy. I am sure the chefs are so creative with the garnishes as the chicken tikka was served on a bed of purple cabbage which had different notes of flavour to it, sourness of lime, sweetness of dry mango, spices like coriander, cumin, chilly powder, wow never imagined a cabbage would taste so good. Super soft Naan and rice was cooked to perfection. Overall it was one of the best meals I have ever had in Vancouver. Flawless taste.

Yelp
New favourite spot, amazing food. This level of Indian had been missing in van until now :)

Yelp
Ordered the chicken combo last night, I gotta say the best chicken tikka kebab I have had in Vancouver. The chicken was very moist and flavourful, the curry was delicious as well. Great value for money. Definitely will order again soon.

Yelp
Was craving some Indian food while stuck at home. Ordered the butter chicken, rice, naan and nahari. Awesome! Surpassed my expectations and then some. Gonna order again, my friends will totally dig it.
