The Urban Valley resort was good in many ways. The staff are very helpful and there are lots of them. The pool, bar, restaurant are good, plenty of sunbeds, no rush for beds even when busy over the weekend time ( more busy over the weekend), lots of umbrellas. Breakfast is good, good selection, hot and cold options ( can sit inside or outside). Be aware there are no restaurants/ shops nearby so having bed and breakfast is advised. Room was nice but a little worn in the bathroom. We were initially allocated a room with wheel chair access but had no patio or balcony area which is what we had paid for ( double superior room) . We had arrived late at night after a delay but next day we asked reception about this and they happily changed our room which was much better and what we had booked so not the best start. Hotel is located in a residential area but you can walk to Sliema seafront in 20 minutes where all the boat trips, restaurants etc are. We ate out in several here. Would highly recommend Il- Merill for traditional food just up a side street off the main stretch. Used the hotel free shuttle bus to get into Valletta on a couple of occasions which was good- booked day before. Did the two harbour boat trip, caught the Sliema- Valletta taxi boat - €2 and would highly recommend the Lascaris War rooms- went on a dull day so wasn’t too hot in there. Over all a pleasant stay.

We booked a Superior Room with Valley View - Continental breakfast. ||The staff were friendly, all areas were clean, and the shower was hot and powerful. We enjoyed a very nice massage at the friendly spa, although we didn’t use the sauna and indoor pool. We only ate breakfast but it was enjoyable with plenty of options. ||The fridge in our room was noisy during the night. Some of the accommodation consists of suits which have chairs that scrape on the floor, meaning that our nocturnal friends above kept me awake. A simple and effective solution would be to stick some felt pads on the bottom of the chair legs. As it was, the staff kindly moved us to another block, but I did lose a day of exploring the lovely island.||A minute's walk away is an aviary and a donkey in a pen, which was a nice distraction. There are chickens running around and some geese and ducks. Next to this is an archery range which we had a go at. We booked in advance, but needed to change the date, and the chap got back to us very quickly to confirm. We also booked the tennis court and had a knock about. Further down the road is a little nature reserve with a few friendly stray cats lazing around.||If you want beach, then this isn't necessarily for you, but we were very happy to walk into Sliema and hop on the shuttle to Valencia, although we did use the Bolt taxi service most days. There is nothing much nearby – no shops or bars, and the hotel bar closed at 11, but we usually stayed in one of the bays, which weren’t noisy or overcrowded at the time of our visit.

Our recent stay at Urban Valley Resort & Spa was a truly relaxing experience, ideal for travelers who want tranquility without being cut off from the rest of Malta. Although the hotel is situated around 2km from Sliema and 4.5km from Valletta, this slight distance actually worked in our favour.||🚍 Great Connectivity & Local Amenities||A short 10-minute walk took us to the University area, where we found a high-quality supermarket (Wellbees) and four bus stops offering access to nearly every corner of the island—thanks to its status as a student hub. The hotel itself also offers a free shuttle to both Sliema and Valletta, although note that only the Valletta route includes a return service.||🏨 Hotel Experience & Service||The hotel is beautifully maintained, and the staff are a standout feature—friendly, professional, and always eager to help. The manager’s presence during evening meals, personally checking in on guests, was a thoughtful touch that didn’t go unnoticed.||🍽️ Dining: Satisfying, If Not Spectacular||While the food may not chase Michelin stars, it’s reliably good. Each night we had a choice of two to three main dishes, alongside a soup course, fresh salads, and dessert. Even my wife, a self-confessed picky eater, found herself indulging—and may or may not have returned with a couple of extra pounds (though that's strictly between us).||🛏️ Spacious Rooms & Excellent Amenities||Our Supreme Room was superb—spacious, quiet, and well-designed, with two balconies and a separate sleeping and living area, each with its own TV. The free electronic safe, strong hairdryer, and excellent WiFi (a stable 90 Mbps) were definite bonuses. Streaming evening shows was effortless, which brings me to one caveat…||🌃 Evening Entertainment: Serene or Sparse?||The resort’s peaceful, out-of-the-way location is ideal for early risers or those seeking downtime. But if nightlife is your thing, be aware there’s little to do on-site after dark. We didn’t mind, as our days started early to beat the midday heat, but this could be a drawback for some.||🚕 Easy Transportation||Getting around couldn’t be easier. Ride-hailing apps like Uber, Bolt, and eCabs are all in use here, making spontaneous evening trips into Sliema or Valletta hassle-free.||🇲🇹 Final Verdict||Would we return to Malta? Absolutely. The island is breathtaking and well worth exploring further. Would we stay at Urban Valley Resort again? Yes—though next time, we might visit earlier in the year and plan a few more evening outings into town.

Great hotel, well located (15-20 minutes taxi ride from the airport, 3 bus stops nearby with several lines), professional and considerate staff, plenty of amenities (2 swimming pools, one spa, archery range, massages, etc.). The hotel proposes a shuttle service for free which can drop you out pick you up in Valetta, Sielma and a third place whose name I don't remember. |The food served in the "Bistro" restaurant near the pool was delicious. The one served in the main restaurant was good. |Spacious room with everything you need (clean sheets, air conditioning, kitchen, comfortable bed, bathroom with tub, TV, plenty of plugs for your devices).|We had two problems when we moved in : the flush button for the toilets and the clothesline were slightly dislodged. We signaled it to the reception and, within hours, everything was repaired (Thanks Martina for your prompt reaction).|We particularly appreciated the contract with the staff by the "Bistro".|The only negative experience we had concerns the spa: the hammam was out of order the whole week we spent there, the sauna took ages to warm up and the jacuzzi could use a little bit more powerful jets. Nevertheless, we still enjoyed the facilities and had a great time.

First time in Malta and some family friends recommended to us this hotel and I am glad we chose it! Absolutely amazing!! 😍 I wont say room cause its a whole apartment, the place is so spacious (I think its the first time we had such a big place). All the staff members from the receptionists to the waitresses at the restaurant were polite and friendly. Martina the receptionist during our check-in she was so helpful and asked the security to escorted us into our room. Respect to the cleaners, massive thank you🙌 one of the most important things for me is the place to be clean. The room was cleaned every day and we have been provided with new towels as well.👌Variety of breakfast with good selection. Large balcony. We havent used the kitchen however, is fully equipped. Free parking. Location is good and close to the airport.😊 Didnt get the chance to use the rest of the services like sauna, pool etc but we will be back for sure! 😎Thank you very much! P.s. the Passion Colada mocktail from the bar is amazing:)

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel. The staff are welcoming and friendly, and we were so lucky to be upgraded to a junior suite free of charge. The staff work very hard to keep the hotel clean including daily maintenance of the outdoor areas. It is easy to get fresh pool towels too. This was a very relaxing stay and we booked in for a massage at the spa which is on site. The location is a short drive away from main areas but the hotel do offer a shuttle service, or Bolt app is very cheap. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a relaxing stay in Malta. I would 100% come back.

Amazing stay. The staff are so lovely and helpful. The food and service is great. Rooms are very spacious, beds very comfortable and well maintained. Location is perfect. 15-20 minute drive to Valletta and 5-10 minute drive or 20 minute walk into Sliema which has plenty of bars and restaurants. Close to everything but far enough out that it is nice and quiet and perfect for relaxing. All round perfect stay. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

It was one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Everything was perfect. The room was lovely and spacious and clean. Food was plentiful and a wide variety. Friendly helpful staff who make you feel welcome. Two superb pools with plenty of sunbeds. The location was perfect for us as we didn't want to be in the bustle of Malta , a 10 min walk into Salema where there were plenty of bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.
