First, I am a bit surprised that the reviews aren't better on Yelp for this place. It was one of the better meals I feel like I had in Rome. I love the tucked away street that this restaurant is located on and the decor is very cute. It is a lot bigger inside than I thought it would be when I peeked in from outside. We came by after spending a few hours at the Colosseum and Roman Forums and were looking for a relaxing meal.
The fried zucchini flowers were okay, but not something I would order again. Wasn't really sure what to expect when we ordered it since this isn't something I've seen before. We didn't try any of the pizza, but had 3 different pastas: cacio e pepe, pasta alla gricia, pasta all'amatriciana. All three were solid choices, but the we all agreed that the pasta alla gricia was the best, followed by the pasta all'amatriciana. We think that the pork added to these two dishes and the cacio e pepe, although good, didn't have that. Portion sizes were standard and fair and we had enough space for gelato somewhere else after. Who wouldn't want some room for dessert after?
we ordered aperol spritz here as well, which I found to be on the sweeter side. It didn't have as much of the bitter tang to it, which some people like but it was refreshing.
