Uretiti Beach DOC Campsite

Nice getaway from everything for yourselves or with the family. Good way to chill and reset. Enjoy the sunrise or sunset on the beach. Water is clear and blue with waves. Within a short walking distance from the campsite. Enjoy the clear night sky where you can clearly see the stars and moon. Also love that there is now hot showers.

Lovely spot for a camping mission. Close to the beach and not too far to drive to activities or to Whangarei if you need supplies. The motorway gets loud in the morning but generally a very calm vibe.

Excellent campsite with everything you need. Wardens are so welcoming, facilities maintained well and very clean. Went in peak season and still managed to find a lovely spot to set up our tent. Overall great vibe and all campers were respectful as well.

Uretiti Campsite is well maintained, with a spacious camping area and a short walk to a beautiful beach. The hot showers are great value too, $2 gets you 5 minutes. On the downside, it’s very close to the highway, so it can be quite noisy at night. There also was a designated rubbish drop-off point that we can’t use when we stayed. Unfortunately, our neighbours were talking and laughing around midnight, which made it hard to sleep. Overall, it’s a solid spot, but if you’re staying here, I’d recommend bringing noise-cancelling earbuds (or earplugs).

Easily one of the best DOC campsites we've stayed at. Facilities are great and wardens were super friendly and welcoming. The beach is so close so a swim every morning is a must.

Near the beach and lovely places to camp. Even has hot showers available. It’s close to highway 1 and traffic noise might be an issue unless you’re camped nearer the sea.

Lovely campsite with access to the beach, nice hot and cold showers. Went there in September so not the peak season which means you can easily have no neighbors so quite a quiet spot to relax. Only downside would be the access from the road (highway) which can be a bit scary as cars go fast. But you just need to be patient and wait for the right moment 😉
