This is the second hotel we stayed at in Ulaanbaatar and, honestly, it was the _only_ one we should have stayed at out of the two (but hey, live and learn). The lobby and elevator bay are cozy, if not a little squeezed for space, but the rooms themselves are comfortably spacious without being vistas. The front desk was extremely helpful even when we had unusual requests such as "may we have some tape to seal this envelope".
While we were there the desk staff seemed limited to a middle-aged woman, who spoke English, and a young man who did not. Both were very helpful and could get the other if necessary; I wouldn't worry too much about language barriers as long as you yourself are friendly and patient.
