Urgoo Boutique Hotel

Very centrally located older hotel just two minutes walk from the main square. We used the hotel’s transport to and from the airport which was reliable and fairly priced.||Our room was large albeit with two narrow single beds. These were comfortable. Large bathroom. Rooms well equipped, with a fan but without a/c, This was fine given the local climate.||Breakfast was from options agreed the night before with reasonable choice. We were even given a packed breakfast when we left at 5am for the airport.||Staff spoke good English.

STAY AWAY! Room serviced once in 5 days. Breakfast constantly late, or items not available. Towels have rush at appears to be rust stains. Staff friendly but management horrific! Charged extra than the booking cost. When challenged, got defensive and rude. Communication not great. Room large, fairly comfortable and good location however so the other factors let it down!

Like what another reviewer said, hotel charged more than booking said. No one at the reception desk so we had to wait a while to check in. Breakfast was late, they only started preparing when we went to the desk to ask about it. Room was spacious, but shower was poorly designed. The shower head was facing straight towards the curtain/bathroom wall, so you need to hold it all the time otherwise the water will go everywhere.

This is the second hotel we stayed at in Ulaanbaatar and, honestly, it was the _only_ one we should have stayed at out of the two (but hey, live and learn). The lobby and elevator bay are cozy, if not a little squeezed for space, but the rooms themselves are comfortably spacious without being vistas. The front desk was extremely helpful even when we had unusual requests such as "may we have some tape to seal this envelope". While we were there the desk staff seemed limited to a middle-aged woman, who spoke English, and a young man who did not. Both were very helpful and could get the other if necessary; I wouldn't worry too much about language barriers as long as you yourself are friendly and patient.

I stayed at the Urgoo Boutique Hotel and found my stay to be pleasant. The rooms were nice with a large space and spacious bathroom. For the most part the bed was comfortable and everything in the room was useful and clean. The front lobby was my only negative about the hotel, there was hardly any staff there. When I checked in, I had to wait like 15 minutes for someone to show up. Then often times, there was nobody there. Breakfast was included, it was just ok, don't expect much. I recommend this hotel for their rooms and location.

This was a fantastic hotel for our 8 days in UB. ||The rooms are large, clean and the hotel could not be any more ideally located.||One receptionist (during the daytime) has great English and is amazingly friendly and helpful. Sadly this drops off when she goes home at 7pm.||The restaurant is good, if a little variable. ||My biggest issue was that the restaurant staff have their meal, together, in the middle of meal service. This meant for that 30 minute window we could not order our drinks or meals as they 9all) sat around eating while we sat waiting for service. If they had staggered this it would have been ok…but they didn’t. ||Despite this I still recommend the hotel.

I stayed in Urgoo Hotel in Ulaanbaatar in August 2024. This boutique hotel offers great value and an ideal location near key attractions. The rooms are spacious, but issues like a broken elevator, limited English-speaking staff, and inconsistent breakfast quality detract from the experience. We had a great stay here on two separate occasions. The rooms are clean and comfortable, especially compared to other spots we stayed in UB! Our room even had a small kitchenette with small portable stove which was pretty handy. Our room had its own hot water heater (and it worked!). We didn’t test the AC as we didn’t need it while there but overall great stay. The service was friendly as well!
