Amazing! Saw this gem on instagram and knew when I was visiting the area that I HAD to find it and boy it didn’t disappoint. Amazing quality of both coffee and bakes. Shame it’s not open on Monday (our last day) but glad we made it in just before closing on Saturday. Definitely recommend 😊

Certainly the best bakery to visit in Ballycastle. Great selection with something to suit everyone. My only gripe with this place is that the staff are a little chaotic. This can hinder the atmosphere, when cutlery is routinely dropped or coffee is spilt when being served. We've made this observation on a couple of occasions now. A little polish round the edges will keep Ursa Minor as the best establishment on the north coast.

Absolutely fantastic focaccia sandwich with an unusual combination of fillings! Also the mini quiche was fantastic. All so tasty. Lovely shop- wish I could have spent longer sampling all the different options! Plenty of vegetarian things on the menu.

Food wise there were two plant based options. Both were sweet pastries. It is a cool spot and they should definitely step up the game when it comes to plant based food. It is 2025 and there are tested and proven recipes to bake delicious food that is free from eggs, dairy and honey.

Went here in search of artisan bread. Definitely found that... And a whole lot more! Thought it would just be a bakery, but its actually a bakery and a great cafe. Owned by a lovely husband and wife team. All the sourdough is made by the owner, Dara, who I had the pleasure of speaking to about his process. He even showed me around his kitchen and let me handle some of the dough. He's spent the last 4 years perfecting his technique. As a sour dough maker, I was impressed with his knowledge and skill. The menu is fantastic. Uncluttered and provides a great selection of wholesome food, mostly based on sourdough and fresh local produce. The soup in particular was the best I've had! Great for kids with a play area full of wooden toys and lovely pictures. Full baby changing facilities available too. Wasn't expecting the broad selection of delicious cakes. I had the cinnamon roll, which unlike its American origins, was not sickly sweet, but perfectly formed with a great cake like crumb and a delicate cinnamon flavour. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Wifi was available, although I didn't use it... Spent too much time admiring the food and selection of books on sourdough available to buy. Only minor criticism was that the coffee was good, but not great... Certainly very drinkable, but not as good as my favourite cafés. Thanks for a lovely time today. We will be back! Update March 2018 We did indeed return today to find Ursa Minor doing wonderful business. Warning: if you want some of their now award winning bread to take home, you need to get there early! They were sold out by 12:30! Food just as good. We had the soup, toast (with rhubarb and vanilla jam), the 'Tartine', which is cheese and mushrooms in sourdough and a bed of greens and also the 'Bowl' which was a great fusion of noodles, Thai spice and fresh greens. Pleased to report that the coffee was wonderful today. Best I've had in ages. Also delighted to learn that Dara is now doing 'Sourdough for Beginners' classes to pass on his great skill to others! Bravo. Keep up the good work guys.

What a place! The world needs more places that this. Veggie, ethical and very tasty! Fresh bread is made here daily, with a focus on Sour bread (you can attend classes), there are pastries and cakes as well. Good options for breakfast and lunch, cozy atmosphere, very relaxed, place for the Kids to play and a good variety of books to read. Light, airy and good views from the back. If you go downstairs to the loo you can see people baking and preparing the bread in an open bakery.

A great local bakery and café, with a large selection of sourdough bread and pastries. The best coffee we've had in the area too. The cafe area has lots of seats in a bright, airy space which feels chilled. Definitely a local gem and well worth a visit

Delicious pastries and a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. We got the regular and chocolate croissants which were light, flaky, and crispy. The chocolate one was mostly plain, as in maybe 25% of bites had chocolate due to how it rose. But the rest was so buttery and tasty it wasn't sorely missed.
