Ursulino Valletta (Valletta, Malta) 3 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Malta’s capital city of Valletta may not be the commercial nexus it was back when the Mediterranean’s business was conducted by ship. But this beautiful Baroque city, with its harborside island setting, remains a tempting leisure destination, not only for its ancient sights but for contemporary boutique hotels as well — hotels like Ursulino Valletta, a classic townhouse that retains its historic façade but whose interiors have been transformed into something unmistakably modern." - Tablet Hotels

Location is great, right next to the ferry terminal (you do have to take a lot of stairs) and within minutes from the central plaza. Staff very helpful, prepackaged our breakfast and arranged for our 4am taxi. Room was also clean and spacious. And the breakfast was good too, you can enjoy the food on the rooftop where you can see the city wall

We had a wonderful stay in Ursulino Valletta on our first visit to Malta. The location is fantastic - right in the heart of Valletta but slightly off the main, busier streets. As two women, we felt so safe wondering round the streets and even managed a few cocktails at a bar round the corner upon our arrival at past 11pm on a Saturday night. Entry to the hotel went smoothly - our late hour meant there were no staff on but we were given a door code and our key was waiting for us on reception. Our room was lovely - spacious and cool with a large bathroom with double sinks, bath and shower - lovely shampoos and hand wash too. Beds were very comfortable. We were up and out most mornings before 07.30 and the hotel gave us a little package of pastries, yoghurt, cereal and fruit for the days when we couldn't take breakfast on the terrace. The days we could eat on the terrace were truly memorable. The staff serving the breakfasts were really lovely and the choice of food was amazing. Eating breakfast with such a fantastic view of the harbour was wonderful. All the staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful. We were allowed to leave our luggage at the hotel after check-out on our last day, which was greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend Ursulino Valletta for its location, interior, comfort, breakfast, helpful staff and value for money.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at this wonderful hotel. Our room was spacious, the bathroom was huge. We had the downstairs apartment with a private courtyard. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and we ate on the rooftop overlooking Valletta's harbour. The location is sensational, literally just around the corner from some of the main sites and the main streets with restaurants. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We would love to go back one day.

We booked this for a new years break and were not disappointed! ||We stayed in the executive double which is described as a smaller room, it is not small. Lovely spacious room which is well appointed. Really nice bathroom. Only slight flaw is the bed which is very hard. ||The breakfast was a treat. Firstly because of the setting - we were lucky to some lovely January weather and so we’re able to sit on the terrace for our coffee. I imagine in the warmer months this would be the norm and would be so nice! It was a standard continental but with the addition of an egg station which was a welcome addition. The ladies serving were very attentive and although it was self service they brought things up to our table. ||The location was perfect. A short stroll to the centre. ||Please note that this hotel is not accessible. I wouldn’t advise it to anyone who struggles with stairs as there are lots of them. ||I would 100% stay here again.

We stayed here over a long weekend, it was a pleasant experience, the hotel is in the old city center of Valletta, near all the main spots, including the Gozo fast ferry terminal. The rooms have high ceilings, spacious, comfortable beds, and are very clean. The breakfast was amazing, quality products, good coffee and the roof terrace is perfect to have an idea of the city center. The staff was pleasant and nice. I appreciated a lot the complementary wine and the water offered. Definitely it was a perfect place to discover Valetta.

I will preface this review by underlinng that we stayed in mid-winter. It is probably a different proposition in summer. Rooms are comfortable but no natural light in the double deluxe room we stayed in. Also the bathroom-in-the-bedroom idea doesn't work. Room is damp, if you have a shower while someone is sleeping they will be woken by the noisy extraction fan and glaring light into the bedroom. There is no bar or common seating area except the rooftop terrace where the view is spectacular by no crushed seating. Very sparse minibar. Staff are friendly but not present very often. Overall, this is not what you would expect from a hotel; more a guest house but very impersonal. Well positioned to visit the city which is splendid.

We stayed for 3 nights; the hotel is ideally situated near the seafront & St George’s Sq (3 minutes walk to either). Very clean, modern, mini bar, tea & coffee-making facilities, cordial staff, and an amazing terrace where you can enjoy the bottle of wine they give you gratis on arrival. I must say that all the staff there, whatever they are paid, all deserve a pay rise (especially Yitka at reception & the lady in charge of breakfast who made my eggs).

A great 4-night stay in this beautifully-modernised, multi-storey property in the heart of the old walled city of Valletta. Efficient lift gives easy access throughout and the staff are friendly and helpful.|Good use of space in the rooms, which are well lit and have excellent air-conditioning, and beds & other fitments are comfortable and convenient. We had the ground floor double room, which only opens onto the private patio area - it's good to have some natural light and the feeling of extra space, but it does feel a little as though you're at the bottom of a lift shaft when you go out! On the other hand, access to the lovely, spacious roof terrace is easy via the lift, and you get a fantastic view of the Grand Harbour from up there. It's a brilliant space to enjoy breakfast and to have a drink at sundown.|There are loads of restaurants of all price levels within a few minutes walk, and it's also handy for walking to all the sights in the old city.
