Usagi Sushi- Takeout only

I ordered sushi here for the first time. I live close. It looked delicious. When I used chopsticks, rolls broke, so I just tried eating with my hands. I immediately saw a hair under a piece of the roll. I don't plan on ordering from there again.

I stopped in at Usagi late one night and got a couple different sushi rolls. The quality seemed quite good, and the suchi was delicious. It was even a pretty solid price. All that said, it is a little odd that it's takeout only. It makes for a really weird vibe if you want to walk in and order. You just have to sit around in a tiny little waiting area. Overall, Usagi is great sushi for the price, but you will have to sit in a strange waiting area to get it.

At a glance the menu is huge! Almost too much to choose from.. but great variety. No tables for dining in at this spot, allowing them to allocate more costs towards packaging and presentation - as you can see, the platters are visually stunning! Fish is fresh and vibrant, the rolls that came with the platter are a bit overwhelming as I'm not too big on spicy salmon/tempura bits, if you could choose to swap it out for something else since the menu is already big, I would've liked that. Otherwise, we enjoyed it. I would say it's worth giving a try!

So glad to have found this place. The fish is incredibly fresh, the prices are reasonable, and the portions are great. The sashimi pieces are thick and the overall fish to rice ratio is perfect— they really don’t cheap out on the fish! You can tell this team puts care into each order and the result is some of the most delicious, high quality, beautifully presented sushi takeout in Toronto. I absolutely recommend this place for your next at-home sushi dinner!

Usagi Sushi never disappoints. The fish is incredibly fresh and you can taste the difference right away. Every roll feels carefully made, not rushed, and the rice texture is spot on. The place has a cozy, clean vibe, and the staff are genuinely friendly; they remember faces and make you feel welcome. Prices are fair for the quality you get, which makes it easy to come back often. Easily my go-to spot for sushi that actually tastes premium.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent visit to this sushi cafe. Despite having children with me on a very cold and snowy day, we were refused access to the restroom, which was said to be for staff only. The doors were open and it was already 11:35 AM, while the cafe’s official opening time is 11:30 AM. Inside, there were customers present. According to Toronto and Ontario regulations, food establishments with seating are required to provide restroom facilities for their customers. Refusing restroom access to children, especially with the excuse that staff personal belongings are inside, is simply laughable and unacceptable. The staff suggested a public washroom in the nearby park, but I explained it was closed for the winter season. Such treatment in harsh weather conditions is neglectful and inhumane. Given this experience, I will never order from Usagi Sushi again. I do not recommend this place to anyone, especially families with young children.

Hands down my favourite sashimi takeout place. I accidentally discovered it and have been going there every time I'm in the area. The inside has seats you can wait at, and it's not big. The people are nice, and the sashimi is always super fresh. It's also the only place I found that had the mackerel roe. The box comes with two rice and miso soups, and we always go eat it at high park. It's become a core memory and such a vibe, highly recommend!

just an overall awful experience, we spent 60 bucks on some sushi, tempura and fries, nothing special, and everything just tasted awful. rice was soggy and dry at the same time if that make sense, fries were bad so my 4 year old wouldn't even eat them, tempura hardly had any meat inside. and service was not great either. I thought I'd give it a try cause its close to where we live but never again.

Love Usagi Sushi as my go to for sushi through Ubereats. It's usually so risky ordering sushi for delivery but everything has been super fresh and delicious once it arrives. I've tried many dishes from this place and enjoyed pretty much all of them. Some favourites are the Aburi pressed sushi, the mixed tempura, maki set which I've ordered a bunch of dragon rolls and all delicious (red, green, black). I've also had their chicken katsu bento and it's really good. Chicken is nice and crispy and love the variety in this box. This spot is also so close to High Park and the perfect spot to pick up sushi and go for a picnic. Note that it's a take out spot only (no seating).

Sushi is great here. I get the Aburi Pressed Trio or the Usagi Salmon set. Both are great, a lot of good and they usually have a deal on Uber eats. I come here for the rolls and the pressed sushi and never leave disappointed.

Always an amazing sushi experience! They have the freshest and tastiest sushi in the west end!!
