The 20 Best Things to Do in Bogotá, Colombia (Updated 2025)

"I spent a Sunday at the Usaquén Market and liked how artisans line the cobblestoned streets selling local crafts and goods — it's a bit nicer and more upscale than other flea markets, still affordable, and a fun place for people-watching." - Matthew Kepnes

We visited the Usaquén Flea Market twice during our trip — and honestly, we could have gone again! The atmosphere is so fun and lively, with a long street full of incredible local art, handmade crafts, unique souvenirs, and beautiful decor pieces. Prices were surprisingly reasonable, and it’s the perfect place to find something truly special to bring home. Beyond shopping, the market is also a great spot to taste Colombian flavours. You’ll find stands offering coffee, chocolate, and traditional treats, along with plenty of street food options. We also stepped into a few nearby stores and cafés — all with amazing products, friendly service, and great vibes. Usaquén is such a charming neighbourhood! If you’re looking for local culture, great food, and artisanal souvenirs, the Usaquén Flea Market is a must-visit in Bogotá. We loved it both times!

Vibrant and fun place to hang out on a Sunday and buy little gifts to bring home or for yourself. We did not see used stuff, all new, mostly, so I would not call it a flea market. We also stopped for lunch in one of the restaurants in the market area. A very enjoyable experience.

I absolutely loved the Usaquén Flea Market — it ended up being one of my favourite places in Bogotá and I made sure that my Sunday was planned around this market. The energy is so fun and welcoming, with rows of incredible local artisans, handmade goods, unique finds, and so many creative pieces you won’t see anywhere else.

A lovely place to wander around and spend Sunday morning. The area is quite busy and surrounded by cafes and restaurants. The vendors offer a good variety of handcrafted items and antiques at affordable prices. It was hard to not purchase too much as I only have a backpack and limited space. It is far from the historic district but feasible by uber motorbike and worth a visit to explore local artisans and purchase handmade gifts.

Traditional craftwork / art / creativity of Colombia and other south american countries seen here. Tasted Obleas from street vendor here and it was good. Oblea is a wafer dessert, it consists of two thin wafers sandwiching a sweet filling. While obleas are typically filled with arequipe (caramel-like confection made by simmering milk and sugar), they may also contain jam, cheese, fruits, whipped cream, or a combination of multiple fillings for additional cost.

Loved this! Once you get to the end make a left and keep going this place is absolutely huge it just goes on and on. Also from one of the food vendors inside of this flea market we had Some absolutely wonderful Arepas and empanadas, I'm talking world class from a group of little ladies just selling them right there in the market! And right next door is the Santa Barbara Mall which is also huge!

Fun and festive street atmosphere! The walk is cool and there are plenty of places to stop to eat or grab a local snack. Sit in the park across from the church and have a relaxing time! Cheers!

The Usaquén Sunday Market is a lively Sunday market with a wide range of offerings. You will find everything from classic Colombian souvenirs to homegrown remedy products that are more geared toward locals, similar to what you might see in other large metropolitan markets. The area itself is very pleasant, and this is a place where you should take your time and wander. Browse all the stalls before committing to a purchase, as there is a lot of variety. I recommend bringing some cash, although many vendors do accept cards, which makes things easier, so there is no need to stress too much about payment options. If you are interested in responsibly sourced or handmade goods, there are shops and stalls that focus on those as well. You can find souvenirs for a wide range of budgets. There are also ruanas available at different price points, along with hats and bags. Overall, anyone looking for souvenirs is likely to find something they enjoy here.
