Overall would give it 4.5 stars. Less half a star as they don’t have chilli powder which I love with my sushi. But the service was good and they were quick to accomodate for a person of 1 on a table for 4 which was nice of them. So service was great. Atmosphere is also nice. Quiet and easy to talk if I had someone to talk to.

Found this place via google map as my wife really want to visit the market. Ordered daily special bowl and a bottle of sake recommended by the owner. Perfect match! Love the rice, how come they can such a wonderful type of rice here in Japan. Fishes are fresh and tasty. Even though the waitress couldn’t understand much of English but with photo showing on the menu, it shouldn’t be a difficult job to find the dish you like. My personal rating for this place is 4.5/5

I cannot agree more with the other reviewer who suggested we skip the long Qs at other eateries and head into Ushioya. I had the ‘Extremely Heavy’ kaisendon with uni, blackthroat seaperch, bluefin tuna among others - and it was a VERY SUBSTANTIAL breakfast but more importantly, very tasty! Will come again and again!

The dishes feel like the predecessor to poke bowls. Each bowl is half filled with white rice, then you choose which types of fish you'd like atop. It's very basic but elegant. You essentially have a nice version of soy sauce to add to it.

Highly recommended place. Great food, great staff. I took a bowl with different type of fish, including blue fin tuna and was amazing. The food looked and tasted much better than other 'highly' rated sushi place near by. Cards are accepted. They have some explanation in English, so it's easier to purchase. Overall really nice place to have something to eat.

Fantastic!!! Donburi's were so fresh and tasty! Super filling! Greet value for cost! Never had broiled yellowtail and sadly so sad I won't be able to get this again! Wanted to take some home but must be refrigerated. Don't pass this up! Worth the hype and the novelty of blowfish was cool and delicious!

Yelp
First off, Omicho market is not where you go for dinner, pretty much everywhere is closed. If you're looking for a eatery to go around Omicho market don't bother going anywhere else this is the place to be. They serve primarily tataki sashimi don but oh soooooo good - super fresh. Also they have their own oyster based soy sauce. Sit at the bar. Highly highly recommend!

Yelp
We felt pretty lucky to find any place with an open table in Omicho market, and it turned out we found a good one. I don't have a lot of experience with tataki (seared) sashimi, but my salmon was just unbelievably tender and flavorful. It also came with some squid in ink which I did not particularly enjoy but does stain your chopsticks a lovely color. The portions were fine but we were still hungry enough to seek out crabcakes and skewers from some of the neighboring stalls afterwards.
