USS SLATER - Destroyer Escort Historical Museum

A wonderful time on this tour with family. The guides and all are all volunteers who really know their stuff. This ship is a labor of love that should be enjoyed by all.

One of the best historically accurate and upkept museum ships in the world. The volunteers are going a great job at restoring the destroyer escort. My interest in naval history got me a private tour to the off-limit compartments, that was very nice of the guide.

We love visiting war museums like the USS Slater that preserve the part of our country's history that guarantees our freedoms today. We were really impressed with how much work has gone into restoring the ship to its original condition in 1945, the dedication of the volunteers and presentation during the guided tour. This was one of the better war museums.

Recently visited this fascinating floating museum. The tours are very informative and enthusiastically given. Some steep stairs and tight spaces which might be hard for some people. Good outing for kids.

A great group of volunteers and donors work hard to keep this floating museum going and it is worth the $10 for an hour tour. There are longer tours available also, so if you're really into knowing the ship, that's an option as well!

Man I can’t remember your name and so sorry. But you was a vet who showed us the tour with my youngest boy and asked me if I served the way I walked down the steps with my son and wife. And we had one other other. You had a tat on your forearm. Anyways you was awesome and def will get your name right next time I come. You was very informative and kid friendly. My son was 4

Austin was *chefs kiss* wonderful. He was knowledgeable, charming, and easy going. Guided tours are awesome because someone explains the history while letting your eyes explore. I would definitely recommend!
