The Best Places to Eat and Drink on Haight Street in the Lower Haight Neighborhood | Eater SF

"Uva Enoteca is one of the Lower Haight’s best date spots thanks to a cozy (read: the tables are close) and chill vibe and a well-crafted wine list. If you’re not ready to commit to dinner, order a meat or cheese plate and split a bottle of red (your server will happily help you pick one). Come back a few dates later for the delicious pizza and pasta and then tell your friends all about it over the bottomless bellinis during brunch." - Paolo Bicchieri

The Best Destinations for Italian Wine in San Francisco | Eater SF

"There are many reasons to visit Uva Enoteca, not least its weekday happy hour with quaffable glasses for $6 and up, and bites under $10. Another strong reason is the toast topped with jammy, soft boiled eggs and white anchovies, and slathered with chili aioli that changes lives; add a glass (or bottle to split) of the Folicello bianco (unfiltered bubbles from the Emilia-Romagna) and everything which has ever gone wrong will suddenly become right. The comfortable bar area and table seating makes this a prime spot for Italian wine appreciation, as well as for those who believe in food and snack pairing as a necessary ritual." - Coral Sisk

Google
This a really nice Italian restaurant within a 10 minute walk from me. The pasta I had we’re was very well cooked and the waiter serving me was very friendly and very Attentive to me. I highly recommend people try this place and if you do I recommend getting pasta dishes here and you will not be disappointed. I may come back to this restaurant again. 5 stars all around

We had the opportunity to dine in this restaurant and, as good Italians, we felt like we were coming home, authentic flavors that recall the typical recipes of Apulia in southern Italy. Excellent quality of raw materials, courteous service and welcoming atmosphere.

Such a wonderful place! We feel grateful for having such places in our neighborhood. It’s one of those places where you can just head without thinking too much and be assured a good time! The food was on point, the servers were so pleasant and it felt upscale and easy going at the same time. Definitely gonna come here a lot :)

The food was incredible, I had the burata and the broccoli pesto / pork sausage, the best burata I've ever had 😅. The staff are also super nice and friendly.

I wandered in around 7 pm without a reservation. I asked for a table in the back. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. They were out of the evening special, so I tried the mushroom Paccheri Funghi e Salsiccia. The pasta was cooked aldente. The sauce was creamy with a hint of citrus and pepper. The dish has generous amounts of parmesian and succulent mushrooms. The red wine was the Barbera, bold, fruity and dry. However, my glass was underfilled. I was also bewildered by the absence of bread to sop up the sauce. It was only described to me. I wasn't offered a sample. I moved on to try the velvety chocolate Buddino but was not offered coffee. The quality of the food is excellent. However, for the price, a little sampling and upselling would have made it better. Antonio's personal attention made me blush or maybe it was the wine.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner. My husband had a pasta dish which was very tasty and I had the eggplant main course, which was like eggplant Parmesan but I don’t think the eggplant was fried- it was baked and delicious. We also started with some warm bread which was very good, but a bit pricey for the portion size. All in all, a very nice dinner. We will be back.

This was my first visit to Uva Enoteca since Antonio took over ownership a bit over a year ago. It was fantastic from start to finish!! I don't live in the neighborhood, and wish it was in my own neighborhood, as it would be my "local." I was warmly greeted by Antonio and enjoyed a glass of lovely wine while I waited for my friends to arrive. The descriptions of the food were all so mouth watering that we ordered a variety of starters, pastas and pizzas, as well as desserts. This food is made from the heart, and is centered around region of Italy that Antonio is from...Puglia. The flour used in the bread, pasta and pizza is from the region, healthier and more delicious. Some menu items are his mother's recipes. The flavors are subtle, and you can tell that the food is made with care. The staff is friendly, efficient and in fact, delightful. The wine selections are excellent and the options are explained beautifully by the staff. The music playing sets the mood for a totally enjoyable evening. We could easily hear each other speak, which we appreciated. And there are both tables and a bar (where single diners can comfortably enjoy a meal). A big thank you to Antonio and team for a great experience, amazing food & wine, and for creating such a warm and welcoming environment.

After Christmas dinner with friends that wanted to go on Haight and I’m not familiar with this street at all so I looked up the reviews and tried this place out. I’m gluten free and meat free and they do have gluten free pasta, but when I saw the reviews on the eggplant, I had to try it! It was sooo good! Perfect, not too tangy and not too sweet! Just enough cheese (not vegan), had the beets with ricotta and mint and thought that might be weird but it went perfectly together! Everyone else said their food was amazing too! It would have made my dinner perfect if there was gluten free bread to sop up my sauce! The dessert we had the panna cotta with raspberry and corn flake crunch which also sounded weird but it works!

Yelp
Amazing restaurant - our favorite in SF. Antonio is doing amazing things, the burrata, orchiette, and Carbonara pizza are in the must eat category. Dessert is also incredible. Highly recommend...

Yelp
This was my first time trying Uva Enoteca and I am thoroughly impressed with the quality and taste! I tried the Orchiette Cime De Rapa (broccoli pesto with house pork sausage) and the Paccheri Funghi E Salsiccia (mushroom, truffle paste, and house pork sausage). Both dishes stood out for their simplicity and excellent execution. The broccoli pesto pasta was fresh and flavorful, with a creamy pesto sauce that tasted light but still packed a punch. The broccoli gave it a subtle earthiness, while the sausage added just the right amount of savory richness. The pasta itself was perfectly al dente, giving every bite a satisfying texture. The truffle mushroom pasta, however, was the star of the meal in my opinion. The truffle's aroma was bold but not overpowering, complementing the earthy mushrooms beautifully. The sausage brought balance to the dish with its smoky, hearty flavor. Again, the pasta was cooked to perfection, highlighting the care that went into the preparation. Both dishes were fresh, well-balanced, and incredibly satisfying. This spot knows how to do pasta right, and I'll definitely be returning soon. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Uva Enoteca is an underrated gem in Lower Haight. They changed ownership earlier this year, and the new owners are very warm, inviting, and passionate about sharing Puglian cuisine. We followed the owner's dish recommendations and were so glad we did! We ordered the burrata appetizer, orecchiette pasta, and fungi pizza. The burrata is incredible! The owner shared that they import it directly from Italy. The orecchiette was our other standpoint dish - we loved the combo of the crispy breadcrumbs and savory sausage. I typically mix it up and try different places, but I've gone back to Uva multiple times since our first visit! The staff is always so kind and welcoming. We order the burrata and orecchiette every time. So glad Uva is in the neighborhood!

Yelp
The service and ambiance were lovely but unfortunately the food was not as good as the vibes (wine list was good though). My party of 3 ordered the marinated vegetable appetizer with the pugliese bread; vegetables were good but nothing special and bread was unfortunately underwhelming. We got the orecchiette and the "not sandwich" sandwich. Orecchiette was a little cold when it was served and undersalted and quite al dente. The not sandwich was good. I probably wouldn't come here again but if I were I would have wine and apps or the not sandwich. I believe it to be "authentic" southern Italian food so ymmv ‍

Yelp
Cute small cozy Italian restaurant. Would recommend making a reservation since the place is so small. They owners were nice and the food tasted fresh + high quality. My favorite was the orecchiette cime di rape! So yummy! Idk why but the cavolo nero was amazing, it's such a simple salad but so tasty. Definitely can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Don't get me wrong, the pasta is delicious but it's kiddie sized. I don't expect Texas sized portions, but I literally put my "dinner" in a tupperware for a snack for later.

Yelp
We love this place! Great mix of unique dishes with some reminiscent of classics as well. The Apulian bread is really good, which they also use the dough for their pizzas. I normally prefer pastas when eating out at Italian restaurants but the pizzas were really good too. Rigatoni and orecchiette are both winners - most recently had a baked rigatoni from their specials that was my favorite yet. Cool ambience and very friendly service! Highly recommend!

Ashley F.

Yelp
Uva Enoteca is amazing and I highly recommend! It's a unique Italian spot that gives you a very authentic feel to a specific region in Italy. I've been multiple times now, and every time Antonio and the staff have been lovely and the food has been on point. Great date night spot, but we also came once with my big family who is a mix of picky and adventurous eaters and everyone was happy.

Yelp
I came here for a mom's night out with a friend. The food is Pugliese and I gather they are under new ownership. Our appetizers were vegetable-heavy (rapette and cavolifiori) and everything was fresh and not overcooked. The pasta dishes were delicious. The server kindly helped me bumble through the wine list. We were seated next to the kitchen door which was a bit unpleasant, but somebody has to be and staff did their best to make us comfortable and minimize disruptions.

Yelp
I liked the vibe, food and service. I really love Italian food and was quite excited to come here and try their dishes. The interior is very intimate and the staff are quite welcoming and casual which I really like. The dishes themselves taste well done, never too savory or overpowering. Really lets the ingredients lead the experience. I came with a group of 9 and we all ordered separate dishes, none of us really experienced any service hiccups or long spans of time waiting for dishes. I shared a diavola pizza and it was delicious, very savory and a tad spicy. I also got the Orecchiette pasta and it was fresh and light. With chili flakes and a bit of olive oil it's perfect. Additionally the table shared 2 orders of bread that were delicious, I'm a fan of a crispy bread and they did a great job with that and the olive oil dip. I just wish they didn't charge for the bread. While I really liked all aspects of this place, nothing particularly stood out as spectacular. For my next visits I will be looking for that factor

Yelp
Great experience from start to finish. Started with the prosciutto and burrata. Very high quality prosciutto, which I love, and the cheese was excellent. Would order this every time. Had some rosé to pair, which was really good. For the mains, we went with two specials. Normally, I don't always go for the specials, but I'm glad I did this time. Got the carbonara pizza, which you must try if you like carbonara. It was truly incredible. We also had a slightly spicy rigatoni with melted mozzarella on top. I wouldn't normally order something like that, but the flavors were so good and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Ended up having a couple different glasses or red to go with the mains. Our server was spot on with the recommended pairings. And the people working there are just so nice and welcoming. Can't wait to go back :)

Yelp
The service is excellent as is the wine selection. They make a point to have wines from the Italian region they are largely trying to emulate. The menu is small but what they do they do well. Each of their dishes is simple but elevated to the highest possible level with those simple ingredients and dishes in mind. The appetizer prices are a little high and they use canola oil to cut their olive oil (though it's the best canola oil-olive oil blend I've ever had). The ambiance is simple but elegant much like all of their food. Highly recommend the eggplant parm. Either elevating their appetizers a bit more or dropping appetizer price and improving the oil would make this a 5 star place.

Yelp
The Italian food here is so well done. The recommended white wine pairing was delicious. We ordered the Paccheri Alle Melanzane, Rigatoni Al Pomodoro, Melanzane Alla Parmigiana, and Funghi E Tartufo. All were amazing. The Paccheri was my favorite though, as it was a smokey tasting pasta, something I never tried before but now I'm a big fan of. The Rigatoni was a classic dish, but was done SO well that I absolutely loved it. The Melanzane was melt in your mouth delicious, and the funghi pizza was mushroom heavy, which I loved. All great dishes to try there!! We also ordered a couple of appetizers. I wouldn't really order those again because the main courses were such stand out dishes, but the appetizers were good in their own right.

Yelp
Came here Saturday night for dinner with a party of 5. We called ahead and were able to get a last minute reversion at 845 pm. All of the staff were so nice and welcoming! Very informative on the menu - they mentioned they had new ownership. All of the food was delicious! We got a cheese platter - remember TJ order some bread! We shared 2 pastas, eggplant parm, and the mushroom pizza and we were all content.

Yelp
Sad decline from the previous Tuscan menu. We twice had tasteless dinners: watery, flavorless Ceasar salad; boring meatball. Because it's a pleasant venue and I live nearby, I will continue to go there from time to time but stick strictly to their pizza, which is fine.

Yelp
Giving this cute little spot 2 stars, mainly because it's such a welcoming restaurant with a homey type of atmosphere and because the wine was amazing. Sadly, I can't say the same for the food or the service. The pesto burrata was the best part of our meal and it wasn't fantastic. I'd give it a 5/10 because it lacked flavor and the crostinis were so hard they were practically inedible. My friend ordered the stuffed shells and they looked really delicious! I didn't get to try them, but she finished her food and seemed satisfied with the meal. The cacio was absolutely awful. 0/10, inedible. I left probably 75-80% of the meal completely untouched. I'm used to a creamy saucy cacio, but this was literally just a lump of melted cheese in top of pasta. There was no sauce. The cheese was so thick that all of the pasta stuck together. It was so so heavy and truly not possible to finish this meal. I really wish I had gone with the pasta pomodoro instead, it looked so good. If I ever return, I'll try that instead. Our server was nowhere to be found, and didn't check on us a single time after we placed our order. We wanted dessert and to order more wine, but he wasn't around so we waited.. and waited.. and waited. Until we flagged him down for our check. It was only when he came over for the check that he asked how everything was, and if I wanted a box because I left all of my food on the plate.. eh. Judging by the other reviews, this place normally has pretty great food so maybe this was an off-night.

Yelp
Great ambiance food along with excellent service. Cant wait to go back. Such a nice neighborhood restaurant

Yelp
This place relaunched in January under new ownership and the food here is simple fantastic. Wonderful menu choices, the puccia (think focaccia but better) is a novel delight, and the burrata is imported from a small town 20 minutes outside of the owners hometown. I came in on a Wednesday night for date night and the place had a vibrant buzz. We ordered the burrata, orrechetti, and piccante puccia. Burrata was like no other burrata - fluffy inside yet creamy, and contrasted beautifully with the prosciutto. Burrata lovers, r The orrechetti had a vibrant green broccolini pesto with crunchy bread crumbles - yum! The puccia was so soft and fluffy, with wonderfully seasoned eggplant, cheese, and ham. The finale was a velvety soft panna cotta that was balanced with lemon and vanilla, topped with a raspberry sauce. The ambiance is exceptional - not too loud, bright, and homey. Service was A+ and staff and owner are very friendly. I live in the neighborhood and am so happy I found this sensational date spot! Highly recommend.

Yelp
Food was 2/5 stars. Pizza was decent but the pomodoro pasta and eggplant was too tart. We also ordered the aperol spritz which was meh. Also weirdly they sat us next to the toilet?

Dave P.

Yelp
Decided to head in on a whim and eat at the bar. It was my first time back since the management change and the new menu and everything was excellent. I ordered completely based off of the recommendations of the staff. I ended up getting a vegetarian version of one of the Puccia specials and tiramisu for dessert. Above all, though, my experience with the staff was really what makes me want to come back. Everybody was incredibly friendly, especially Antonio, who was behind the bar. Even though it was packed, they were all very attentive and made time to help me figure out what to order and tell me a little bit about the history of the place, the wine, and the food. Will definitely come back soon!

Yelp
Their mushroom pizza is soooo goood. I have never tasted such a meaty and bitey mushroom pizza. No slimy mess, no rubbery mushrooms, just delicious fresh hearty shrooms! Oh, and can we talk about the crust please? Perfectly soft and chewy, just the way I like it! I am not a fan of a crispy crust, save that for toast please. The crust was charred just enough on the outside, with a soft and fluffy center. Their burrata with pesto is also delicious, but did not like the 4 measly pieces of super crunchy toast. Not enough to scoop up that yummy burrata. Great pizza place, small and intimate, definitely will be back for their amazing mushroom pizza!

Yelp
Came here for restaurant week although the menu wasn't super interesting but definitely had comfort picks. Service was good, Emilio kept coming over asking how everything was and was helpful with the menu. Ambiance of the restaurant is similar to something you would find in NY. Took me awhile to find the entrance but once inside it's really bright and airy in the front and more of that brick hole in the wall vibe in the back. Crostini Trio: A really solid starter. Got to try the eggplant/ricotta (?), hummus with chickpeas, and chicken liver mousse. Eggplant was really tender and was surprisingly pleasant, considering I'm not usually a fan of eggplant. Ricotta was perfect touch of creaminess. Hummus was solid, not really a standout. A little overkill on the chickpeas though. Chicken liver mousse was giving a pate vibe and a very generous portion. 4.5/5 Beet Salad: Not a fan of this but honestly bc Im biased on beets. A really refreshing appetizer if you do like beets though. Ricotta was whipped to airy perfection. Helped balance the beet taste on my palette. 3/5 Carbonara: I absolutely love carbonara but I will say that this tasted more like a fettuccine than carbonara. It's missing that emulsification of the fat and cheese that creates that decadent savoriness in carbonara. But aside from that, it would pass off as a good fettuccine dish. Honestly not sure how this was made but it was good, just didn't hit as a carbonara. 3.5/5 Eggplant: Really surprising. Super tender eggplant, sweet tomato sauce, and fresh cheese. A bite of this was really good and had nice flavor and freshness to it. 4/5 Panna Cotta: Love panna cotta and this one was good. Nothing really stood out but really liked the crunch of the added frosted flakes. Raspberries and the sauce added a mild tartness to balance out the sweet vanilla of the panna cotta. 4/5 Overall a really good experience. I would go back to try some stuff off their normal menu that caught my eye. I would recommend this spot for a nice casual eat.

Yelp
Came here for SF restaurant week this past Saturday and we made a reservation for 3. The host was super accommodating and nice so appreciate the good service! We ordered from the SF restaurant week set menu and some of us got the margarita pizza and the others got the carbonara. I thought the 2 balanced each other out really well since the pizza was pretty tomato-y and the carbonara was super creamy! The meal also came with complimentary glass of Prosecco which was really good too. I think the best part was definitely the dessert thought. The chocolate mousse melts immediately in your mouth and was not too sweet. Overall solid place, food was good but nothing blew my mind so decided to give 4 stars. If you are near by and craving Italian food, definitely worth a try!

Yelp
NEW OWNERSHIP - and i'm loving it! The old restaurant was fine, not memorable. I always wondered why it did well on yelp, it was just so forgettable. Under new ownership, this restaurant is another level!! I revisited this restaurant under the new owner, Antonio, from Puglia, Italy, who was the host at our table. The fare is focused on Puglian cuisine and is fantastic. He was so kind, and explained the new menu to us in depth. There were so many standouts on menu, including specialities and ingredients sourced directly from Puglia and small towns Antonio knew intimately. He sourced his favorite things from home. Standouts include the Puglia red wine selection, burrata, as well as the funghi pizza. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
COME HERE FOR HAPPY HOUR I REPEAT COME HERE FOR HAPPY HOUR!!! The deals are truly such a steal!! They have a delicious meat and cheese board (pretty small) but with really fragrant truffle infused honey! They also have a classic margherita pizza that I really enjoyed. The star of the happy hour in my opinion was their pasta - simple but SO good! The pasta dish alone is normally $18 but at happy hour it's $10! Cant get over the affordability of HH, catch me there from 5-6 every week! I also tried other things off the normal menu, including a creamy orecchiette, butternut squash pasta, and a mushroom pizza. Of those dishes, the mushroom was probably my favorite, but I'd still opt for the HH items for the price!
google avatar

Irene H.

Yelp
MY NEW FAVORITE HAPPY HOUR SPOT!? 4-6 every day. you're welcome. Uva enoteca is a cute lil spot on Haight with delicious pastas + pizzas & great vibes + service. Our server was the best & the vibe was so on point, we had to ask her for her Spotify playlist. I was able to try a number of dishes on both their dinner & the happy hour menus, but i can't stop thinking about the $10 HH pasta pomodoro (usually $15). I might need to become a regular and get my weekly pasta fix. The HH spritz was also a steal - they did not skimp out, it was a large drink! Their pizzas were also really good! Very chewy crust.
google avatar

Winni C.

Yelp
Great pasta at a good price - especially during happy hour! I got the Orecchiette which was super flavorful and offered a big portion. We also got aeperol spritzes which are at a great price during happy hour. The staff and service were great, and it is a wonderful local Italian place - I would absolutely come again!
google avatar

Ariel M.

Yelp
This place was delectable! I came here with my partner for an impromptu date night without realizing that it had very recently changed hands. The new owner, Antonio, greeted us warmly and gave us a full understanding of the new menu (which has some unique dishes from Puglia!). It's so clear how much he cares. The food itself was *stellar*. I feel like it takes a lot for me to be impressed with Italian restaurants most of the time, but these guys blew it out of the park! We left full and happy. Beautiful ambiance, culinary fabulousness, and a kind neighborly vibe. We live around the corner and can't wait to return. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Yelp
UVA Enoteca is a hidden gem in the Haight. We loved the food and the ambiance. They serve authentic Italian food and some from old grandma recipes of the chef. The prices are very reasonable and they have an excellent wine selection. The restaurant is owned by an Italian fellow and he is on top of the service. We can't wait to go back and try out the rest of the menu.
google avatar

Matt J.

Yelp
I don't know why Uva Enoteca doesn't get more hype. Selfishly, I hope it stays under the radar so I can keep going to it as a "best kept secret" but it deserves to be bandied about in the discussion of best SF Italian. The atmosphere is spot on (moody without being fussy), the staff is attentive and friendly (they remembered us and treat us like old regulars after two visits) and the food itself is excellent, honed flavors that are perfectly executed. My kale salad has been consistently crisp and delicious. Each time I go only makes me want to return immediately.

Alyssa C.

Yelp
It's under new ownership as of January 2024 Far and away my favorite local restaurant. When I first visited, I went 3 times in a week! The food is FANTASTIC, try a Puccia if you're looking for something a little different! -Just don't call it a sandwich. They will also make most dishes vegetarian upon request! The service is incredible, polite, and engaging. The restaurant's interior is warm, friendly, and inviting.
google avatar

Palak G.

Yelp
This dish was one of the better ones I have had for Italian food. I like the effort that they put into having more than one veg options available. I am not big on eggplant but this dish was baked to perfection and surprisingly enough the eggplant flavor wasn't overpowering but complemented the refreshing tartness of the tomatoes. They definitely used high quality ingredients because it didn't have the after taste of a canned tomatoes. The cheese was a little crispy so it played a significant part in the harmony of the textures going on in the dish. Service was good but having to pay for a mediocre basket of bread did not stand right with me, since the bread was plain and just 5 small pieces for 5$ Ambiance was cute and classy the interior seemed nice.
google avatar

Saneea F.

Yelp
Located on Haight Street, the first thing that stood out to me about this restaurant is it's quaint ambience - you definitely feel as if you were transported into a different world! I came here with a couple of my girlfriends for an early dinner - what I loved was that even though we went on a weekend, they do offer a happy hour menu. We all ended up getting the spritz, which is very similar to an Aperol spritz and was a perfect way to kick off the summer day. I had gotten the stuffed shells which were definitely filling - I do wish that there was a little less sauce, but overall a great dish. I would recommend trying this restaurant out especially their happy hour menu.

Yelp
Was able to get a table for 4 right away on a saturday night #noreservations. Its good italian food if you're looking to stay in the neighborhood. My favorite thing there was the spicy salame pizza.

Hugh D.

Yelp
For our dinner at Uva Enoteca we ordered five different items and shared family style which think was perfect to try a variety of options. The chopped salad was crisp and fresh, but ultimately just pretty good. The Mushroom pizza was fantastic, with a bold mushroom flavor, and fantastic dough that will certainly satisfy your group's mushroom lovers. The spicy sausage pizza has a perfect level of spice and sizeable slices of sausage. The orecchiette pasta was creamy and al dente. The meatballs were good, but would have preferred a larger portion versus the cost. The real standout for me was the lamb bolognese! The lamb gave the sauce such a deeply savory flavor. Overall, really enjoyed Uva Enoteca as a good spot for attentive service, a nice upscale, not-too upscale atmosphere and of course tasty food.

Mike H.

Yelp
What a great little find. We were there on a quiet night and service and food were great. We ordered the meat and cheese board as a starter. We took our time with it. I truly believe that our dinner was not starter until we finished it which might we were not rushed or bothered. When dinner arrived it was hot and smelled amazing. If I was there only to eat with my eyes I would have been satisfied. Dinner was wonderful. All three dishes were dramatically different each with their own flavor profile. It was one of the better Italian meals I have had outside of Italy. It was all complimented with a Chianti. All delicious.
google avatar

Jane W.

Yelp
I came here for dinner with a few friends last night and overall had a great experience. What was particularly noteworthy about Uva is that their price point is very reasonable for the portions/quality of ingredients (especially considering we are in SF). We tried a wide variety of dishes, including their mixed kale salad ($11), raw sweet corn ($9), roasted octopus ($21), and a whole ball of burrata pizza ($20). The mixed kale salad was excellent, and the octopus had generous portions and was very tender. Service was excellent and attentive.

Yelp
Food- 4/5. We had mushroom pizza to share. The my husband had lamb bolognese. He liked it a lot. I had pasta pomodoro- the pasta was really good but it was simple. If you make a tomato sauce yourself, you might find hard to find anything mind blowing about this pasta. Wine- 5/5I LOVE that they have 8 oz pour for wine by the glass. That's how it should be everywhere!! The wine the server recommended was great. Total for 2 8oz pours - $38. Ambience - 4/5- nothing too fancy or unique. Simple Restaurant with cozy vibe. For me to give 5 stars, I'd expect them to put some more thought here. I did enjoy the wine shelf and our table happened to be next to it. Service- 5/5- very nice people. They patiently answered all of our questions about different options. Food arrived in time. Overall, nice service. Overall, this was a great place to come again to have the comfort Italian food. I'd visit again.

Yelp
Dropped by for happy hour (5-6, incl weekends) on a rainy Saturday and we loved how lowkey and homey Uva was! The ambience is cozy and waiters are attentive--the perfect respite from the gloomy weather. My friend started with the spritz and I started with a red wine ($8). For food, we ordered a margarita pizza ($10 from the happy hour menu) and chopped salad, which came with salami, olives, chickpeas, and cheese ($15 from the regular menu). Thoroughly enjoyed both, and left feeling satisfied (and ready to walk some of the pizza off).

Yelp
I was searching for an Italian restaurant in the area and had a great visit this evening. The server was very professional, welcoming, friendly. I was served delicious food (see pictures), lovely ambiance, clean and well situated restaurant with easy street parking. Owner is Italian with great taste in food and food quality! I will be back again, next time to try the pizza!!! Grazie!!

Yelp
I came here for a team dinner (group of 10) and we had a great time! Since we were a big group, we were offered a family style menu at $35pp. We were also offered a $25pp free-flow beer and wine option (select options) which we also opted in for. It was a lot of food (2 sets of many apps, 4 pizzas and 4 pastas, and 6 desserts to share)! Everything was delicious! Seems like a fun spot to host a celebration/birthday party for a sizeable group!

Yelp
This place was tasty! Visited on a Thursday evening. Not too busy but I do recommend making a reservation. The food came out really fast. Service was a bit slow but that's probably bc there was one waitress for the whole restaurant (poor waitress :(). Will come back. We had the beets, orecchiette pasta, and salami pizza. Highly recommend all these items.

Yelp
As far as Italian restaurants go, this was fine for me. Not wonderful but by no means bad. Its a restaurant I would go to if I was in the area with friends and in an Italian mood! There are a few delights and others mediocre (not particularly good or bad). Highlights: - Orecchiette (small Shell pasta with white sauce and small pieces of meat, very tasty) - spicy salami pizza (I liked this one because it was actually spicy and had good flavors) Lowlights: - Mushroom pizza (not as flavorful for me) - Pork and beef meatballs (lovely presentation but not substantial as an entree, it should come with a starch) - chopped salad (mediocre) Service is good and the vibe is nice. The place is more spacious than it looks from the outside. Portions are a bit on the smaller side and surprised they don't have complimentary bread.

Yelp
This is a lovely happy hour option! Drinks, appetizers, and entrees are super reasonable price and very delicious. Think $10 pizzas and pastas. This is my go-to spot when someone wants to meet up for Italian food because of the value for price ratio. In addition, the service is excellent and I feel very welcomed whenever I go. The food is delicious and I really love the orecchiette (not pictured) for a savory and unctuous meal. I always have some left to save for the next day!

Yelp
I went to Uva Enoteca on a Friday afternoon to get happy hour and an early dinner! My friend and I opted to sit outside, but there was quite a lot of open seating. We ordered the spritzers and the meat/cheese board off the happy hour menu, and I ordered the boar bolognese pasta. The happy hour items were fine and definitely at a very reasonable price. The boar bolognese pasta had a delicious tomato sauce, but I couldn't quite taste the difference between boar and beef. I also found the pasta to be a little more al dente than I'd prefer. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate budino, which had a very thick and decadent texture (similar to a mousse). This dessert was definitely one of the highlights of the meal! Overall, a great place to go for Italian food, and I'd be happy to come back here again.

Yelp
I took my teenager, and our friend, to celebrate their 17th birthday. We were greeted by the sweetest host, (who turned out to be the NEW owner). We were given the utmost attention, at the just the right intervals. We wanted to taste the menu: Beet and goat cheese salad was scrumptious, with its red and golden beets that melted in your mouth. Pork meatball dish, swimming in the most sumptuous red sauce! Moist, and light. Mushroom pizza, was to die for! (And, took some home for lunch, the next day!) The pasta was stuffed, something to savor- every bite. Pucce. We had never experienced this delight from Puglia before. When we bit into the layers of crispy, soft centered, bread, layered with the lightest tasting sausage, and greens. Our eyes popped! We had never tasted such a culinary combination! Definitely a favorite, we must repeat! And, for the birthday candle-the Tiramisu....with a twist...you DO NOT want to miss tasting their version of an Italian classic. Not only did I have two very delighted teens, but we were stuffed, with lunches for school, the next day. Uva Enoteca has a classically lovely ambiance, with a hip flavor of upbeat music for any social occasion. From dressing up for our special occasions, to those coming in from the office, it was the perfect venue to gather. Well done, Antonio! Congratulations on bringing your youthful charm, combining classic dishes to FEED THE SOUL! Brava!

Yelp
Uva has the kind of cozy, classy and familiar comfort that's hard to put into words -- there aren't many places in the city that radiate a nice level of intimacy just from the ambiance, and that's what I loved about dining there. I ordered the shell pasta, which came out quickly and was coated in a fragrant red sauce. I liked it a lot, but the relatively small portion size did leave me wanting more! I plan to come back here to try their other dishes some time soon.
