Where to Eat in Midwood and Sheepshead Bay

"A rare local spot serving Dungan Chinese cuisine, prized for freshly pulled noodles in a braised‑beef stew; the spacious, quiet dining room lets you hear the chef slapping noodles into shape while music videos play on a back TV." - Tammie Teclemariam

I spent two years teaching English in Aksu and three years teaching English in Ghulja (right up until the government there decided they didn't want any foreign witnesses to what was happening)... I miss it so much. When I heard there's finally a Uyghur restaurant in Philly, we drove an hour from the other side of the metro area just to try it... And we were NOT disappointed! I'm very picky about toxu qorumisi / dapanji / "big plate chicken" because everyone makes it different and it's hard to find a really good one even over there... But the one here is VERY! It reminds me of my favorite restaurant in Ghulja! The only part that's a little off is that the noodles served with it are pulled a little too thin for my liking, whereas dapanji that I'm familiar with is served with wide, thick, "belt noodles," which is one my favorite parts of the experience, but that's a minor discrepancy. You can be assured that the noodles here are really hand-pulled which makes all the difference. And the portion sizes are very generous! We also ordered lempeng, which was very good, too! Yeyishlik (delicious)! It's definitely worth the trip for me and I look forward to returning again. I hope lots of other people enjoy it as well! Rehmet, Uyghur Lagman House!

This restaurant gives me the hometown vibe. Chef is very good. Laghman is authentic. Inside of the restaurant is clean and spacious. Good Wall arts and Uyghur musics playing. You won’t regret for the Laghman you eat here.

We stopped by this place while visiting Lancaster, PA. Their food and their service is top notch. Their lagman is authentic uyghur style. I loved every dish we ordered. The interior of the store is calming and cozy. This Uyghur restaurant is a hidden gem in PA. I pray for them to prosper and thrive. We will definitely recommend this place and spread the word to other travelers.

Just want to put English here, What I meant to say was "过油肉拌面好吃" means “The Special Lagman was delicious.” It seems Google Translate made some mistake. I want to clarify that I respect Muslim culture and really enjoy Muslim cuisine — there’s absolutely nothing related to pork.

Saw the notes from instagram for reservations if you are planning to dine in due to they are just opening in few days, the kitchen is busy and try to improve the food quality control, they are rejecting the walk in customers for now. The food is good and fresh made, the owner and employee are nice and friendly. give them a chance to try on, you don’t disappointed.

Don’t listen to the internet haters. We had the big plate chicken (huge portion) special lagman, Qorma lagman and the pearl noodles. The food was fantastic and very authentic. The wait was not as bad as others say, the manager came out to greet us and explained everything is freshly made on the same day (this goes for everything that is on the plate). The atmosphere is very nice with Uyghur music playing, restaurant is very clean and waiters are friendly. Definitely the best central Asian restaurant in this area. Highly recommend to come try this place out!

Google
Great restaurant with authentic Uyghur food! Just a heads-up—they recently opened and can get very busy during Ramadan and iftar hours. From what I understand, they’re actively working on improving service quality and logistics, so a little patience goes a long way. Give them a chance, and you won’t be disappointed!

Had a great experience last night. I loved their food, very delicious flavors. I tried Korima noodles, and the noodles are hand pulled. The staff was welcoming. Loved the ambiance, and I was very impressed by the artwork on their walls (woven carpet). If you like Thai food, you should definitely try this place because the flavors are similar to Thai food.

Yelp
We were very impressed with the authentic Uyghur cuisine which seemed to be a mixture of Middle Eastern cuisine with some Chinese influences. The food was freshly prepared and the portions were generous. We ordered the special Lagman and lamb kabobs. It was fresh, well balanced and tasty. We saw other diners with French Presses with a tea mixture on their tables so we decided to try their special Uyghur tea. This was a mixture of rose water, cardamom, dates and tea leaves. It was served with bowls and a rock sugar. Again an authentic way to drink the tea. The ambiance is unassuming and casual. It was very clean. We will be back and can recommend especially if you are interested in an authentic experience.
