V & T Food Store

A lady from the Backstreet Museum directed us to V and T, after I inquired about yakamein! The yakamein was delicious, seasoned well, and the egg was at the bottom! Next time I go, I'm trying different flavors!!

This has become one of my favorite spots for hot plates. $13 I got a large turkey neck, pasta and greens with a drink! Each item was delicious and full of flavor! The $9 YakiMein is also really good! Your egg will be at the bottom of the cup! Please don’t make this place run out of food when I get there. 😆

Wings Wings there are Wings and there is Turkey Wing. Plus POboy sandwiches lol. I must say this place have amazing food, It pack with local And you know the local always find the best food. Yeah sure you have to come off a little bitfrom the tourist area but boiii they weren't wrong never have Wings and Deep fryTurkey wing these good before Full of flavor pack of punch on em sauce. And the catfish Poboy oh boy delicious.

I’ve been going to this store since I was a child and am highly disappointed in the decline in quality of food and but especially service since getting new owners. On several occasions the kitchen has been closed hours before the stores closure, the food has been starting to taste funny, and the clerk is especially rude. After 30 years I will not be patronizing nor eating here anymore.

My mom and I went here. If you want po boys and hot boiiiz at the same time this is the place for you. Kinda wild, who knew you could deep fry anything. I swear if you ask jimmy(the guy behind the bar) $15 he’ll deep fry your sisters flip flops and it will taste like filet mignon. Anyhoo life’s good at V&T& me.

My wife and I arrived in New Orleans after a full day of driving. We were really hungry and really tired. Thankfully we found v&t food store. This is not a fancy place, it is a truly authentic neighbourhood place with amazing takeout food. We got a couple of Po Boys (shrimp and hamburger) and took them back to our place, best sandwich I've ever had. No kidding. Oh I almost forgot, get the GUMBO. Brilliant. And kicks the butt of any fancy restaurant in the quarter. We were so impressed we went back on Christmas Eve and got food for Xmas Eve and Xmas day, it was awesome. The food was utterly amazing, people were friendly, they made us feel right at home. The place can look a little intimidating from the outside but don't be fooled. Highly recommended.

Yakimein tasted like straight oil, the chicken inside also didn’t even taste like chicken I’m so disgusted & my stomach was immediately upset no exaggerating! The chicken plate was good though.

We were actually looking for a BBQ spot according to Google reviews and they were out of business. Stopped in here to grab a drink for the walk back and found an amazing food selection. Ribs, chicken, mac and cheese, corn on the cob and on and on, and that's the stuff ready to go made every day. You can tell because it was all SO good. The owner was awesome too. It's unassuming from the outside, but you better get in there and get some food.

I love a hood corner store!!! The turkey wings are fire!! Chicken wings are some of the best around!!' So so hood'

Yakamein it is worth trying if ya in the area and new to New Orleans. Good flavor and a variety of meats. They also have a buffet with soul food. Make it a stop and enjoy

One of my fave run in spots for a poboy... grilled shrimp or grilled chicken with extra onion & peppers. I also love the yakamein, I've been eating it since a kid in the 90's.
