It is a traditional fish and chip shop without frills. We were encouraged to go in to eat by a group who were leaving and we weren't disappointed! The young man who served us was friendly and efficient and the food was excellent.

We had two cod fish and chips with salt and vinegar. Great chips and very tasty fish. There is no dine in option, but you can enjoy it at the beach which is located very close to the store. Reasonable price. Highly recommended when in Whitstable.

So delicious! Very easy system of calling them to order and pay and then picking up 10 minutes later. Superb chips and a lovely piece of rock too. Found a perfect spot to watch the oyster farmers at work too.

Lovely food. Really enjoyed the fish and chips. Bread roll wasn't the best however! Waiting staff were great. Only other downside was the dining room was too hot - air con required!

Every time I passed V C Jones there was a queue of people so I had to try. Friendly and helpful staff with a traditional fish and chips menu. Beef dripping does give it depth of flavour that you don't get so much with inland fish and chip shop.

Saw the reviews on google and was craving for fish and chips. The restaurant was inside the takeaway area. The employees were polite, friendly and accommodating. I ordered cod and chips which was nearly £13. Did not have just a fish option for £7.50 which the takeaway did. Fish was really fresh and tasted great, batter was tasty too. Chips were perfectly fried and wasnt too oily. Mushy peas was awesome but couldnt try the curry sauce as it was sold out. It was slightly overpriced for sit in and dine but the quality was definitely worth it.

Google
fish and chips generally is either good, mediocre or bad ... except for about 1 % of the time and this is what makes that rare exception. outstanding fish that is cooked just right and what I can only describe as "proper" English chips.

Cod and chips we ordered was lovely it was a bigger enough portion to share between two people. Then we ordered a sausage and chips but the size of the sausage was awful. It’s like it’s from a children’s meal. I wouldn’t recommend for an adult’s portion. In one of the medium portions of chips we found a black hair. We’re visiting here and a few people recommend this local fish and chip shop. But I definitely wouldn’t come back in a hurry. The staff were very friendly, but they were very busy as it was a Saturday evening.

Yelp
This is the chippy of my childhood neighbourhood. Friday night was very often fish and chips night, and the only place that could cut it was Jones. This place is the real thing and a benchmark of what fish and chips is all about! http://www.vcjones.co.uk/

Yelp
I first went here 6 years ago...and my god the fresh fish & chips reminded me of the stuff I used to eat as a kid in Southport with my parents. They cook in beef dripping....and yikes and gazooks....it is BLOODY MARVELOUS! So I was again visiting my friends and have kept the smell and memory of this place in my mind for six years. Would I be disappointed.....no feckin' way!!!! The place still offers a simple style with formica tables a mug of tea and mushy peas...and that smell.....oh it's divine!!!! My lunch which I had flown 4000 miles for was better than I had hoped it might be. Bearing in mind Whitstable has been discovered by London and now has many trendy independent shops, galleries and eating places I am so pleased the V C Jones has not changed on iota. I will be back........unless anyone can do a quick take out for me...deliver it to Woodstock Vermont where I have some original Sarsons vinegar ready and waiting.....

Yelp
Delivering fish and chips to your door during lockdown. And delicious, although if you're a pescatarian, check the oil used as I think it's not vegetable oil (that's why the chips taste so delicious!). Very popular, with queues all the way up Harbour Street in peak season. Also part of vital community initiative during lockdown, with a pay it forward scheme.

Yelp
We came here based on recommendations from where we were staying and other TripAdvisor reviews, so expectations were high. It's a traditional fish and chip shop, so there's no surprises: just good quality fish and amazing chips. Not the best I've ever had, but that's the trouble with reading rave reviews, you end up expecting to be wowed. Service was very friendly and portion sizes were good you can even go large on the fish if you're really hungry.

Yelp
Visited today for lunch around 2pm, we were a little hesitant at first as it looked like the place was empty but actually as we got to the seating area there were a few other couples. Service is very quick, my sausage and chips was good but my husband wasn't a huge fan of his cod. Lunch cost us £20 for 2 meals, drinks and tip. Would probably have given an extra star if there was a bit more atmosphere in the restaurant area, maybe some music would help? In summary not the best chips I've had but far from the worst, staff quick and friendly but a little overpriced.

Yelp
Delicious piping hot cod and proper chips! Just the thing to eat on the beach nearby. Staff very friendly and engaging. The small cod and chips was very large!

Yelp
Great crispy batter and tasty fish. Typical fish and chips the English way!

Yelp
Best fish and chips in Kent. Don't forget to order mushy peas too - delicious . Service very friendly as well. Love it here.
