V Cafe

The breakfast croissant with hot sauce was delicious - everything was thinly sliced or prepared so that it stacked really well and didn’t explode out the back when I took a bite. The V-Power smoothie was refreshing, the latte was good too. Place was quiet (Monday morning I guess) and the staff was friendly - brought my order to the table while I was reading. I’ll come back when I’m in LA again.

I've been coming here for lunch once a month for several years. The staff has always been friendly, but during a visit last year they took it even further. Late last summer I went to pick up my to-go order and was already having a rough day. The owner chatted me up as usual, and when I went outside to take my lunch back to work, my car would not start. I popped the hood and was trying to figure out what was wrong (I am not a car person). The owner saw me and came out to help. He not only jumped my car for me with his own cables and another member of his team, he gave me the cables in case I needed them between there and the auto shop. When I brought them back a few days later, I also brought him flowers, which he kept alive and on display in the cafe for weeks. The food was already fantastic, but I'll never forget that kindness that day. It's been nearly a year and I just told the story again, so I thought I'd come back here to share. Highly recommend. Also the Caesar Wrap is the best.

Came here to work for lunch. Ordered the caprese sandwich with salad & sesame bagel with butter, jam & a latte. The space is small and quaint, limited outlets for laptops. The sandwich/salad was portion is huge and really delicious. The bagel was really fresh and delicious as well. They gave me an orange jam and it was to die for. The owners/management are so kind and welcoming as well! Can’t wait to go back

Located right next to the Hollywood Improv, this spot had always piqued my curiosity. Today, faced with yet another long line at Community Goods, my girlfriend and I decided to give it a try. The ambiance was pleasant, and the displays were clean and well-organized. The espresso machine, a Marzocco, also looked promising. We ordered two iced lattes and a roast beef sandwich. As the barista began making our drinks, I noticed he only pulled one espresso shot instead of two. He ended up making one of the lattes an iced coffee. Before taking it off the counter, I asked about the mistake. The barista insisted that was what we ordered. I clarified our order and asked him to remake the drink, but he said he would have to charge me again. Despite my request, he refused to correct the order. As a first-time customer, this was a disappointing experience. The roast beef sandwich was just okay--small, with nothing special about it, and the meat seemed like it came from a packaged, mystery meat product.

I am so in love with their Wild Arugula Salad! Add avocado (or chicken, whichever you prefer) and extra dressing! The smoothies are really good and so are the fruit cups! The only thing I'd recommend the business to do is to make sure the salad is ALWAYS fresh, as I had one incident where some of the lettuce was going bad. But still, 9/10 can't beat that!

My friend Deb V. and I needed a place to sit and catch up on Melrose, and we ended up walking into V Cafe after several blocks without even a coffee shop. It was small and cute and smelled good from the street, and we stopped in for a quick lunch. The place was casual and welcoming with a soup/sandwich/salad kind of menu. Service was quick and friendly, and we enjoyed our lunch on a little table on the sidewalk. I got the sesame crusted ahi tuna salad, which came with mixed greens, cucumber, tomato, carrots, shallots, and miso-ginger dressing. I'm not really a salad person, but I do like ahi tuna and miso, and this was decent, the tuna tasty and the proliferation of vegetables fine and probably good for me. There was one sort of gross piece of tuna, but that was just one weird bite in an otherwise solid salad. If you're looking for a pleasant little lunch spot in this part of town, V Cafe may be worth checking out. It's an easy place with nice people and a big menu full of wholesome food.

Go go go. Get your buns to V Cafe. Quality food, the nicest staff, and a pleasant environment. I had a turkey sandwich and it was filling and well made. It came with a simple side salad with balsamic, also good. I had a side of pasta salad that had some chicken. Good but could use more spice or excitement. There's bar seating and a few small tables inside. Street parking. You know, normal LA Melrose cafe.

Super delicious sandwich and you have to get the macha blueberry smoothie ! It was my first time here and it did not disappoint

Love going to V Cafe as they have the best customer service and delicious food. Their Chipotle Chicken wrap is my favorite and their freshly made daily soups and pasta.

Cute, little charming spot for breakfast/lunch. Food was delicious, customer service was on point. There's a little bit of seating in the store and outside although it's a bit loud. Plenty of meter parking around. My friend and I split the B.L.A.T., lox bagel, and matcha blueberry smoothie (they even put it in two cups for us which I thought was super sweet. The BLAT was my favorite the aioli was delicious. The blueberry matcha smoothie was creamy, refreshing and everything I didn't know I needed. Best part, everything was reasonably priced and not ridiculously upcharged like most places you'd find in LA. Highly recommend!

Best Cafe in LA. The owners know how to make you feel at home. Huge menu to explore so you don't have to get the same thing every time. I would recommend the Caesar Wrap. The Natural lighting makes the perfect ambiance.

Amazing! They have amazing smoothies and breakfast wraps. Also, the staff is amazing! The people who work there are so kind and always and have the most amazing energy!

I love this place First off, Afghan-owned. Hell yes. Second, the food is so fresh, locally sourced, very flavorful (see above Afghan reference lol), and just pretty fabulous overall. It is highly and regularly patronized by the surrounding melrose businesses which just makes me happy because they're not just trying to make a buck--they are a staple of the community. The chicken pesto panini on fresh focaccia is perfection! I also really like their chipotle chicken wrap, *and* I've heard a Mr. Styles, Harry is a fan too so I guess we have something in common anywhoooo head over, tell 'em ziba sent you, and get eating. *from my knowledge, all chicken items on the menu are Zabihah halal. They have other seasonally halal items but just ask the chill ppl for more info

I love this place! The food and service is outstanding. I tried something new on my last visit and it was so delicious. It was the toasted turkey sandwich with a small salad. I also got a brownie . Thanks for always exceeding my expectations.

The staff here was so happy and helpful! I loved the breakfast wrap so much that I can't wait to come back even though I don't live nearby! It was the perfect size and seriously delicious.

Such a fabulous little spot! I started working near here and have gone a ton of times now. The bagels with salmon are fantastic. They come loaded with cucumbers and tomato and capers. The grilled vegetable sandwich is a panini and it's sooo good. All the sandwiches come with a nice side salad and the sandwich halves are BIG. I have yet to try the caesar but a friend who had it said it was the best caesar wrap she's ever had (!!!).

Perfect little cafe for a healthy lunch or a quick bite. They offer fresh juices and refreshing healthy ice based smoothies that are simple and to the point, no sugary ice creams, fro yo's or sorbets added, just pure simple goodness. In addition to wraps and sandwiches, they have an inviting selection of fresh already made salads, and this flat vegetarian samosa that is to die for. It was so flavorful I didn't need to add the green chutney that came with it, although it did add a nice spicy kick. I've never seen a flat samosa before, but it was perfect for being on the go. The cafe is small and has limited seating, which includes a couple of sidewalk tables. If you're lucky enough to grab one, it's a nice little spot to sit and people watch, otherwise, be prepared to do take out here.

Come here from time to time because it's close to work. The staff is always friendly and it's always a great experience grabbing a salad or a wrap here. Nice to sit outside and watch tourists enjoying Melrose. Anyways the wraps are always bomb and they come with side salads. Usually order the Caesar, or the chicken panini. All for a decent price too, considering the area. They always got specials too, just check the board out front! Will be back for lunch!

Add more vegan options. You're in a highly populated vegan area...tons of vegan restaurants around. You don't have a single sandwich or wrap that is vegan..that's ridiculous. And it's bad business. It's 2022. Do better Staff was nice.

One of the few cafes with a reasonable price & fresh ingredients. Pasta salad with roast chicken was really good. Banana/ mango/ pineapple smoothie was done really well (combo was just right).

I had a breakfast sandwich on a pretty bad day and honestly this sandwich made it less worse. Like I was in a rotten mood, but a simple breakfast sandwich with everything made it passable and that was great enough for me. 5 outta 5

The food was pretty good, but the service was so bad that I never want to set foot in there again. The staff was so rude and disrespectful to us and they embarrassed us in front of other people in line. Such a shame since we were hoping to go back again.

Friendly service and yummy salads. I got the chopped and my friend got the power. We were both really happy with those choices. My friend was pretty much licking the lemon dressing from her plate. It's a small place, but they do have a few tables outside on Melrose for nice days. Otherwise, it's a counter with barstools or a couple tables kinda smushed in between the counter and wall, so not ideal. A solid choice with reasonable prices. I'll be back! I was in the neighborhood and used Yelp to find a spot for breakfast. Employees were friendly, but I did not enjoy the breakfast burrito I got here. It seemed like the eggs were pre-made and warmed up (like McDonald's eggs?). I believe it was at least $6.50 but really was not good. There were many other things on the menu that looked good, just don't get the breakfast burrito! I used the Yelp check in for a free coffee which was good. I had to get a second cup because they had half and half with ice cubes in it - so it made chunks in the first cup and I got worried it was funky half and half. Anyway, maybe worth trying something else if you are in the area, but I was not impressed and probably won't be back!

Prices are great! I ordered a caramel macchiato and the mixture between nold and sweet was just right. I wish it had more space to sit down and enjoy your drink, but besides that, it is great!

This place is such a hidden gem. A Lunch in weho around $10?! AND that's delicious, healthy, and made with quality ingredients?! YES PLEASE. The customer service is always so great as well. And lol totally random, but I biked there and had to put the sandwich box in my backpack, thought it would be ruined, but they perfectly placed it with the salad that everything stayed in place. Genius!! Love this place.

Quick spot to grab a toasty sandwich. Fast, efficient, and delicious sandwiches on various crunchy breads. I had the BLAT with pesto aioli, so delicious. I was surprised how tasty everything was, tried my friend's chicken sandwich with sundried tomato spread and it was also delicious. Can't wait to go back.

I forgot about this little gem of a spot! Which is funny because I live around the corner. Grabbed a GCA sandwich - pickup for lunch today and it was great. Chicken is perfect, avocado was fresh, and the focaccia! So good. It also comes with a great little salad. So fresh and the staff was nice. My only complaint would be that there are chips and things in the store that aren't on the online order menus. I would've added a bag!

I ordered the Grilled Chicken and Avocado Panini, it was delicious, flavorful, and fresh. I also ordered an oat milk latte which was perfect. The service was impeccable, I'll definitely be back.

I live in the area and have eaten here frequently over the last three years. I went there today to get my standard wrap for lunch only to find out that the owner increased the cost by $4 (from $10.95 to now $15 + tax). This guy is absolutely price gouging...this is not a result of inflation. Shame on him. I will not be returning.

My daughter and I were looking for a healthy place for a late lunch and stumbled upon V Cafe. The food was SO good. I had the grilled vegetable sandwich which was one of the best I've ever had (I order these whenever I see one on a menu). She had the Kale salad with chickpeas and other very healthy "stuff" (she is a very clean eater). We were both really happy with our meals and especially how fresh and high quality the ingredients were. The presentation was perfect. The people are super nice and it was very clean. Great place - we will go back next time we are in the area.

Great coffee, Great food, Great service. These guys over at V always deliver better than anticipated. Their frappes are perfectly blended, and sandwiches flavorful. Cookies are soft with a slight crunch, homemade.. for sure. It's my preferred cafe on Melrose! Ya definitely need to check V Cafe out!

A delightful surprise on Melrose! Tiny cafe with strong coffee, delicious paninis and generous portions. Very friendly staff. I had a roasted turkey sandwich, and family ordered roast beef panini, BLAT, and the Grilled Chicken Avocado, all of which were fresh, tasty and generous-sized. All came with mixed greens on the side. Big thumbs up!

A regular lunch spot for me--and by regular I mean multiple times a week! Their best entrees are the GCA and the Southwest Wrap and the quality never falters. The staff is always so friendly and the place has an overall bright, pleasant vibe. Don't miss out on the shakes and the artisanal selection of snacks, maple syrups, chips, etc.

Waited from 8-8:15am and no one came to door. Saw two employees standing in back and no one came to let me know why not open when suppose too.... very frustrating !

Just called to order a takeout order at 6:45pm and they said they were closing because it was slow. (They're supposed to be open until 8pm) This is not the first time I've had issues with V Cafe so I finally decided to write a review about them. I am in the area so on numerous occassions, I have arrived there at 8am when they are supposed to open and without fail, they are constantly opening late. And a few times I've been the first customer in when they've opened and they're already out of many items. Its sucks because the food is good but the customer service and business mentality of the place is horrible.

I am so happy that this café has finally reopened. I had my favorite roasted veggie sandwich for the first time in months. I had almost forgotten how good it is. This is my favorite vegetarian sandwich In the entire city, bar none. The rest of my family was equally excited that I'm bringing home their famous Afghan Chicken rice and stew. Do yourself a favor check out the menu call in an order and pick up some great food.

I work across the street and I can't believe I waited 2 years to try this place. This is your go-to for giant affordable and tasty vegan salads. Trying to be healthy and shed a few pounds - and this place is now a part of my meal plan. They have tasty looking other stuff like samosas and sandwiches - but I'll have to try it when I'm not on a diet. This is a photo of the V Chopped Salad. I've also tried the power salad. Both are good, but I prefer the chopped salad because I love roasted beets.

Five reasons for 5 stars; 1. Their recommendation of sandwich tastes so fantastic, I never realized its deliciousness of dried tomato paste until that time, even I tasted it many times, but the sandwich!!! (Unfortunately,,, I forgot its name,,, the one on my photo, just in front of me,,, ASK, when you be there) 2. Location so good, right next to Fred Seagull. 3. Customers here so cool! 4. My wife said she really loves its atmosphere, small, but clean & neat! 5. Well, I can write many reasons, but, it was 3 days ago,,, but I can still remember the sandwich taste even it's midnight now, with its crunchy outside toasted bread,,, I will tell something to my friends and customers from Japan who thinks and say American sandwiches never taste good... "Hey, you have to go and eat V CAFE, their taste is more than SUSHI sometimes..." It's true.
