We recently rented a condo property managed by VACASA in the Rehoboth Beach, Delaware area for 7 days. On arrival we found dirty dishes in the dishwasher, human hair stuck to the walls of one of our showers, a faulty shower rail on the other, plus a lounge light that was faulty and couldn't be used. A screen door to our balcony sliders that was bent and damaged, plus a sticky and dirty glass topped dining room table and generally the place was lacking. Instructions on how to use parts of the wider facility were out of date and we had to search the place to find a fob to use some of the amenities. We had also received a text to say we could check in earlier as 'cleaning' of the condo was complete. Well that was INCORRECT as we found out. We texted VACASA and told them immediately of the problems and just got back a standard reply message saying sorry, they'll aim to do better in the future. WOW! Great for the next person, hopefully. When we followed up the complaint at the end of the stay and were leaving the condo we got a text message two days later saying can they come and clean up the issues. Yup, they can't even communicate internally on time to resolve matters. We ended up getting a measly $72 refund from them, which was half the cleaning fee - what a JOKE! and then had to fight them using AirBnB, whom we booked the property through to get a little but more compensation under their AirCover policy that helps to protect customers from HOSTS who don't care. I'm attaching photos of some of the issues, so people can see what you get for $3000 for 7 nights form VACASA. The company made $900 million in revenue in 2024 and you can see how if this is the state of their properties and the lack of proper cleaning and maintenance and just to be clear, we also enquired with Sussex County, where this property is situated in Delaware and apparently they have no local code enforcement or indeed interest in the situation, so were no help. As they say - Buyer we warned! ( I wanted to leave NO STARS, but Google doesn't let you )

Talbot st. One of the nastiest dirties vacasa rentals. I’ve ever walked into which was also not CHEAP. Smelled like cigarettes. Nasty dirty floor and carpet. Broken bed legs. Broken thermostats. Filtered never cleaned in AC. Dust everywhere. Worst management company ever. Avoid any rental by vacasa.

Our family spent a mini week at 303 Barefoot Country (3800 Coastal Hwy). Great location with a splendid view of the ocean. I thought we spent a reasonable price for the the four days/ three nights. Some of the things I thought could be improved upon, the door locking system did not work most of the time. We had the #combination and were unable to gain entrance most of the time, which left us to just leave the door unlocked. It could have been a simple the batteries in the lock were low. The Wifi code could not be simply given when I called the 1-800 number. When I finally talked to a REAL person, there was an intricate 3 part process I had to do on my phone to get the Wifi number. Frustrated, I went to Vacasa's local affiliate in Ocean City, to their credit, they printed out the number in less than a minute with no questions. Minor issues that I think need to be addressed is the AC unit in the bedroom. It cooled down the room just fine, but when in came on, it made such a loud creaky sound that it woke us up..parts of the night. The curtains in the same bedroom, need to be replaced with a modern window treatment (see the unit # 302), the 1970's hanging panels kept falling off and did not keep any light out. The TV worked fine and was easy to negotiate the channels with. The overall appearance of this unit was a bit dated, but very clean in every aspect. Finally, we rented unit 505 (same building) a year ago, but under different management, and they were much more hands on and responsive to any problem that we had. It's possible that Vacasa Corp. has over extended itself and use "ineffective" chat-bots to address their customers concerns...which is unfortunate and short sighted if they plan to be a legit and competitive vacation management business.

The place itself was decent. The bed was more comfortable than most hotels, but the AC in the living room did not work, nor did the TV in the bedroom. I called and made several reports about the issues from the first night of our stay and also the next 2 days. My wife and I were assured that somebody would be out to fix the issues. Most of our vacation has now passed and nobody has come out to fix anything. We've dealt with a hot living room the entire week which is the only place the TV works, since the bedroom TV doesn't work. I understand things break, but the service to get them fixed has been terrible.

Horrible experience, three out of six days - during a heat wave - without AC. Promises to send technicians during our stay or any fans at all never materialized. Daughter with a severe pulmonary condition had a breathing episode on one of those nights due to the extreme heat. Broken, rusted-out grill was a major issue, as we had confirmed multiple times that the unit had one in order cook outside to keep indoor temps down. Dirty, poorly equipped and furnished home. Two rooms with burned out or broken lights. Exposed nails in multiple rooms. Heavy wall hangings left leaning in unsafe positions. Truly horrible staff who seem to serve zero purpose. Intentionally circular communication designed to frustrate the guest into giving up. Repeated multiple complaints, calls, emails and texts asking for any help at all were completely ignored, other than dropping a grill off two days before stay was over. Avoid this company at all costs. Not worth it at all.

We stayed at Scrimshaw 409 in Corolla, NC. Vacasa failed in several ways. 1. The house was overall not clean, per pictures (dead flies, unclean surfaces, dirty refrigerators, blood stains on a bed, nail clippers on floor, significant dust throughout, moldy door curtains and shower curtains, etc). When we arrived the cleaners were still there and we got a call from Vacasa that our check in was delayed. We waited an hour for the cleaners to finish, which is partly why it was so disappointing that it was in such dirty conditions despite the delay. 2. Air conditioning worked intermittently and was hot in the pm hours. 3. Broken step outside, missing wood anf popped nails on wood flooring that was dangerous. 4. Reported and called customer service several times and made ticket with no response for cleaning requests. Agent said we would get a call back for cleaning that never happened. 5. Fridge was warm up upon arrival and ultimately warmed up but made some cold storage items spoil. The cleaning was the biggest issue. It was not acceptable and very disappointing that cleaners were not sent back, as requested. I spoke to several agents that made promises they did not keep, including the local manager, who promised to call back about a refund. I never got that call. I would not let my family or friends use Vacasa again.

Re: a stay 8/11/24 to 8/14/24 in DE Mallard lakes. I will mainly let the pictures speak for themselves. I will tell you their management is horrible rude and dismissive. Four days later, they picked up the four garbage bags of linens from outside the home, and I called several times. We had to keep moving the bags. Took 4 hours to get people to come clean the home that should have been clean before we got there. Dirty dishes in sink, bags of linens outside the door for four days. No towels, no toilet paper, no cleaning supply, missing sheets, blankets, and pillows thrown on the floor in the closet. There is so much more to see and say some pictures attached. Stay away from anything Vacasa managed. If using airbnb or vrbo, check to see who the management company is as well. Sadly, I doubt the ower knows any of this.

You’d think a 10k per week rental would be functional and clean, unfortunately not even close to the case. A dryer that is still broken from a year ago when we reported it during our last trip. Broken toilet seats, broken door handles, dirt & grime on all floors, disgusting bathtub that doesn’t drain. The blinds on both sliders are broken. Dining room lights don’t work. Sand in the beds on “clean sheets”. Wrappers, hair ties, earring under the bed upon arrival. Coffee pot doesn’t have correct carafe so it won’t actually drip the coffee into the pot. Contacted the management company last year with issues and they apologized and said they would take care of it. A year later, all the same issues. They don’t care, don’t waste your money or your breath. Find something NOT run by this junk management company.
