Vagabond Grand'Or

We stayed at Vagabond Grand’Or for two nights and had a very pleasant experience overall. The location is excellent, perfect for visiting the city center, with the main attractions within easy walking distance. The apartment was very clean, well organized, and comfortable, making us feel at home right away. The host’s instructions were clear and extremely helpful, allowing for a smooth and stress-free check-in. Everything worked perfectly and the stay was truly enjoyable. As a small suggestion, it would be nice to find at least a couple of coffee capsules offered by the property. Finding a coffee machine without any coffee provided is not very pleasant, especially for guests staying only a short time. Aside from this minor detail, we would definitely recommend this apartment.

I’ve booked it for couple days. I was able to check in earlier, I really appreciated this gesture as waiting outside isn’t fun the apartment was equipped with everything you need during your stay. It is located in the heart of the capital and literally everything around you in less then 30 seconds walking distance like shops, bus stops, supermarkets, restaurants etc.. The only thing I’ve find fault in, is the early check out which is at 10 AM (most of the hotels offers 11AM, some noon check out). It would have been nice to offer the same check out times like most hotels do (unless of course you have eariy flights, it doesn’t matter).

Amazing apartment and easily the best stay I’ve ever had for this price. We booked a few weeks in advance and got an incredible deal. The place feels like a full one bedroom flat: a separate bedroom, hallway with wardrobe, bathroom with bathtub and washing machine, a WC, a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, spacious living room with a sofa, and even a balcony with a table. Everything is modern, spotless, beautifully furnished, and smells fresh. A TV with Netflix, dishwasher, oven, microwave, literally everything you need. They even left laundry and dishwasher capsules, which was a nice touch. Check in and check out were very clear and easy.

Location is good and the rooms were clean. Within the apartment it had 24-25°C and 15-20% humidity. We turned the heating completely off directly at arrival and opened the windows, however it did not help. The heating was still on and and our set temperature was never reached. With this climate you will wake up with a cough each day which worsens over time. Be aware that there is also no luggage locker offered and you have to leave before 10am!

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. We had 2 rooms for myself, husband, mum and dad and we all said it was great. Washing machine was a bonus especially during the snowy weather. Access is very straightforward and location perfect to wander around the exciting area.

We chose this location due to it's last minute discount and we were thinking it's a great deal. I should've read the negative reviews because, unfortunately, they were true: 1. It was very cold in the apartment. When we arrived the temperature in the apartment was 20°C. We set it at 24°C. During our 3 day stay, there was no increase im temperature. There are several other reviews about issues with heating or cooling of the Vagabond Apartments. 2. Staff was very unhelpful and rude. I've told them that the heating isn't working and all they could do was tell me that the heating is working, that it's not healthy to sleep at high temperatures and that it is usual in Budapest for the apartments to be at 20°C. Even though I repeatedly asked for 24°C (the limit of the thermostat, which I've set and was never reached), staff behaved if I was asking for 30°C. Hope nobody with a child has to endure this. 3. Even though there was a double bed, the blankets were for a single person. When you are cold, it is very helpful to not be able to fully cover yourself with a blanket. 4. The apartment was not clean. Cleanliness is not their top strength: half done job of dust cleaning, one of the blankets was stained, the cover of the shower was yellowish. 5. Not very safe. Next to the building is a government office in front of which there are homeless people (I counted 2 tents and 7 sleeping bags). Some of them kept bugging us for money or cigarettes. Thus, at night, we had to take a +300m detour in order to avoid them. 6. Walls are cracked, scratched and have other signs of high wear (as you can see in other unfavourable reviews). Unfortunately, the whole experience was awful and it remains as a yellow stain on our otherwise great impression of Budapest. I can understand that managing a property can be difficult, but the lack of cleaning, maintenance and the attitude of the support is something that can not be excused.

We’ve stayed in apartment 107 and everything was ok. We do recommend it (family with a toddler). I think it depends on the apartment number one stays in otherwise I cannot understand the negative comments… Indeed the location is great and you have supermarkets nearby but also there are homeless people living nearby. The apartment was clean as far as I could tell staying there for one night.

We had a great stay! The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. It was a lovely place to relax, and the location was excellent—close to the main sites and easy to get around. We would definitely recommend it.
