The 6 Best Hotels in Budapest in 2025

"Located in the Jewish Quarter, this modern apart-hotel offers spacious rooms with balconies and kitchens—perfect for families or travelers who want to cook—along with sofas, flatscreen TVs with Netflix, a dinner table, and a washing machine. The rooms have comfy beds and a stylish but minimal design with light tones and splashes of color; bathrooms are not huge but clean and have good shower pressure. There’s a simple breakfast each morning with vegetarian options, and its position near the must-visit Dohany Street Synagogue makes it a comfortable, no-frills spot." - Matthew Kepnes

For the price we paid, which was around 25 euro/person/night the rooms are amazing, very clean and the beds are so comfortable. The service was not really that nice tough, there was a guy who refused to talk to us because he was on video call with someone, even if he was at reception. The location is great in the sense that it's pretty central, a lot of stuff to see around, but the streets can be a bit overwhelming at night around the hotel.

This hotel was great! The location was near many shops and the main street. The rooms were very good! they were spacious, nicely decorated and had all the amenities! However none of the staff knew English and due to this couldn’t help us much, but google transalate helped. Overall we recommend this place!

We stayed in a 6 person apartment. It was comfortable and spacious. The terrace was very big, wrapping around the living room/kitchen area. There were 2 bedrooms with double beds and an extensible sofa for 2 people. It was quiet and we had a nice view from the terrace to the interior court. The only problem was that the cooling doesn't work. We set the thermostat to 22 Celsius (71 Fahrenheit), but it didn't cool. At the end it was 25 Celsius (77 Fahrenheit) inside which was a bit uncomfortable. Overall I liked it, it was modern, spacious and in a great location. The only problem was the lack of cooling.

We booked the "Vagabond Grand'Or" Suite Apart Room with great anticipation during our Budapest trip, but unfortunately, it was a serious disappointment. Our experience was far below par in terms of location, room amenities, and customer service. While we expected comfort and convenience during a special holiday, the situation we encountered was quite negative. First and foremost, we chose this room because it had a kitchen. However, upon entering the room, we realized it was completely dysfunctional. There wasn't a single fork, knife, spoon, plate, or glass in it. It was impossible to prepare meals. In this respect, the term "kitchen" mentioned when booking is misleading and misleading. In the evening, we tried to make something for our children, but our hands were tied. Arriving late, we wanted to prepare something for them in the kitchen and feed them. However, our children spent the night hungry. The cleanliness and hygiene were also disappointing. There were no face towels in the bathroom. The soap dispenser was almost entirely filled with water, not soap. Furthermore, only one tablet was left for the washing machine and dishwasher; such extreme frugality (!) or stinginess was, frankly, unprecedented in any of our previous stays. The room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, further diminishing the comfort. Furthermore, due to its location, the hotel is located on a rather isolated and isolated street. Access to Budapest's tourist and central attractions was extremely difficult. We experienced significant difficulties with accessibility. There was also a lack of information and poor security regarding parking. Despite charging a daily fee of around 15 euros, neither the location nor the security of the parking garage were reassuring. We had to park our car in a dark and isolated area on the ground floor. The hotel's lack of facilities in this area can pose a serious safety and accessibility problem, especially for families with children. There was also a lack of satisfactory communication in terms of customer service. Communication with the staff was poor and indifferent. No effort or assistance was offered to ensure customer satisfaction. In conclusion, presenting this facility as a "suite" is a serious misrepresentation, even a deception. Neither the services offered, nor the physical amenities, nor the customer service approach truly reflect this name. We do not recommend this facility to anyone seeking a peaceful and comfortable vacation. The image presented in the photos is far from reflecting reality. We would have expected a more transparent, honest, and customer-focused approach.

I am staying in the Grand'Or on holiday. Knowing that Budapest is experiencing some warm weather just now, was looking forward to having an air conditioned room. This seems to be too much to hope for, despite being advertised. After arriving in the room and immediatly turning the temputure to as low as it would go, no change in temputure happened. After going out for some dinner and coming back the temputure was still far too warm. We then tried to call a helpline number multiple times to no avail. After a terrible sleep in the heat, the next day, we finally were able to call this number to have it picked up. We were told that maintanance would come up to check on the air conditioning for us. After waiting over 2 hours, I then called back to be told mentanence just finished, but could help us out tomorrow. Not looking forward to another night of sleep in the heat, we have now asked multiple times for someone to come up to take a look and all we have been told is to "open a window" and that "once the outside cools down, then the Air Conditioning will cool down more". This is not good enough after booking a room with advertised "air conditioning". Overall, I would not recommend staying here. Basic comfort and honest service should be a minimum, and unfortunately, that was not delivered.

We have just came back from the most amazing holiday at Vagabond Grand'Or. The apartment was spotless. The location is perfect. I would not listen to any negative reviews on this place. It's exactly what it is advertised as. It's an apartment not a hotel. We emailed a few weeks in advance to check in and they got back immediately and that made the check in process easier. We dealt with lovely staff. It's such a safe apartment complex also. Security on the front door all night. You even have a nespresso coffee machine in the apartment which is a lovely touch. There is a washing machine and they supply a washing pod for it and my baby was sick the first night on the sheets so I had no problem putting them through the wash to be courteous. This place is a home away from home and I could not fault it. I read reviews beforehand and when I arrived I could not find one fault. It's was gleeming with cleanliness. Th cleaners came around during the week and gave us fresh towels and toilet roll. It was so quiet at night. We had our 2 daugthters with us and upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite and it was amazing. I'd live in this apartment if I could. Great communication from the start and we arrived an hour early with a baby so I emailed by chance and they let us in an hour early as the room was ready luckily enough but check in isn't until 3 bare in mind. Overall it was a 5 star experience from start to finish. Ignore the bad reviews. The location is ideal also literally a 5/10 min walk to the main Street. Download the bolt app before you go to order taxis to the door or any location in the city. The price was brilliant value for such a lovely apartment. Planning our next trip back to here already. Great experience 😊

Although the apartment was great and tidy, the service was quite slow in terms of checking in. There was no early check in and late check out was 30€ per hour. We stumbled across other customers using this facility too and faced some issues checking in also. The apartment was cosy and lovely decor while the key was quite unique using an app scanner on a phone to access the property. Overall our stay was delightful and the apartment served us well during our trip.
