This is hands down one of the best cafes I have ever been to! Insanely good coffee, amazing food, super cosy atmosphere and professional and friendly service! Will always come here when I am Bergen!

A great place to meet up with friends, study but also enjoy other things such as knitting, reading and playing board games. The coffee and food is truly great and worth the money. The staff always makes sure the atmosphere is nice and cozy and always have a great playlist on in the background :)

The place itself is charming and very cozy. Besides coffee offers they also have beer on tap. I only had a coffee americano and it was a bit too acidic to my taste. You have to order at a bar, but the service is really fast.

Great coffee, chilled vibe not far from the craziness of the tourist strip.

Such a lovely place. It looks like this cafe was made for friends. It's cozy and has a very comfortable atmosphere. One of the best coffee I've tried in Bergen!

Fast service: 5/5 Friendly service: 5/5 Tasty food: 4/5 Value for money: 5/5 The strength of the place is its laid-back, quirky atmosphere and very friendly service. The lady taking our order was a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. Soup of the day is a great concept, bread, and butter that come with it were absolutely delicious. Cauliflower soup was also tasty, though I missed the creaminess a bit. The whole place is decorated with origami and there are some board games available so it's a nice place for a meeting with friends or a date when you're worried you won't be able to hold a conversation. After a certain hour the place serves alcohol so it's a café with an opportunity for brunch.

Vågal is a great café for its casual atmosphere, good service, and good food. We enjoyed apple cake, ginger tea and Americano.

I was met with an attitude as soon as I entered the place. The service was the worst I've seen in years, I asked them for water and one of them they pointed at the water station, hidden behind some drugged up costumer. After I asked for the password for the wifi, both waiters got loud with me and started pointing at where they wrote the name (in a very small corner of where the crappy menu is). After I saw it, they laughed at me as one of them sarcasticlly commented "I guess it's hard reading small letters for some". The only time I saw the waiters smile was with each other, talking crap about other people and costumers, this was while waiting to order one carrot cake piece (which was overpriced and drier than sand). When I was ready to order, they had an attitude again like I was a burden. Mind you, I was only there for 10 minutes before I left and never looked back. Never going there again, a waste of precious 10 minutes that I'm never getting back. There are other places that will treat you better like Brian's Boru (right next to Vågal), they got great meals during daytime with incredibly nice staffs and reasonable prices! Do better and behave.

Yelp
This place seemed to come from the heavens just at the right time once it started pouring rain on our visit to Bergen. It contained two words in the name number I recognized kaffe= coffee and vin= wine. The perfect place to escape the downpour and warm up. The seating was nice and cozy with extra table seating in the back and comfy couches, lounge chairs and window bar seating in the front. The prices were decent. My husband got a cappuccino and I went for an americano. We both agreed neither were amazing although it fit the bill to warm us up and allow us to dry off. I believe this place used to be called "Bergen Kaffebrenneri Vågen" which actually seems to now just be the name of the coffee roasting company that supplies their beans. Nice to hear the beans are locally roasted! Great spot to support local versus the Starbucks on the corner.

Yelp
Lovely coffee wine bar. Chanced upon this place as the interior was so inviting that I had to drop in. Plenty of different seating inside with more in the back and even an outdoor area. The coffee seemed average at best, but the interior sold me.
