"The Serene Vahine Private Island Resort Technically part of Tahaa in French Polynesia , Vahine Private Island Resort is an escape from reality. The hotel features three beach bungalows, three self-contained beach suites and three overwater bungalows, all with beach views and designed using only natural materials in such a way as to make you feel like you're in a traditional Polynesian home. Moreover, the resort is set on a 23-acre private island lush with coconut trees and white sand beach. Snorkel in their vibrant coral gardens, kayak to nearby motus or to natural sting-ray pools, take in a coconut show, learn how to tie a pareo or weave palm leaves, paddle a traditional Polynesian outrigger canoe or take an excursion to the nearby mainland of Tahaa (the "Vanilla Island") or a private motu. Guests love their food and beverage program, with French dishes crafted using local cuisine and cocktails infused with local fruits and juices. Tip: Don't leave without having a traditional massage with scented Monoi oil on your deck, where you'll hear nothing but the billowing palms and gentle crashing of waves."

Vahine Private Island Resort and Spa Review||From the moment we arrived, we knew Vahine was something truly special. This is a beautiful, intimate private island — small in size but absolutely breathtaking, lined with palm trees, pristine beaches, and surrounded by the most stunning blue waters you could imagine.||With just nine guest properties and the magnificent Villa Royale, the resort feels exclusive and personal. I was fortunate enough to stay in the Villa Royale, and we had the entire villa to ourselves. The experience was extraordinary. The villa is equipped with amazing facilities, a huge pool, and views that are nothing short of picture-postcard perfect.||The food and drink offering is excellent — thoughtful, fresh, and beautifully presented. Everything at the resort is impeccably managed by Susanne who is a consummate front-of-house manager. Her professionalism and warmth set the tone for the entire stay. Special mention also goes to Manon and Juliette who are part of the FOH Team and Favia whose warmth and happiness in the restaurant is wonderful. All were incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and pleasant throughout our visit. But every single staff member contributed to making our stay so enjoyable.||The snorkelling is stunning with beautiful coral and fish in abundance||In every respect, Vahine Private Island Resort and Spa exceeded our expectations. It is not just a holiday; it is truly like living in paradise. We left feeling relaxed, cared for, and already longing to return.||Highly, highly recommended.

we wanted a secluded private retreat to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary anniversary and chose Vahine resort after a cruise on the ship Aranui around the Marquesas islands . 9 units sounded ideal and transferring from Raitea airport by private boat was perfect for us . our welcome at Vahine was warm and vocal with traditional floral leis. Our bungalow was perfect, private and quiet. This was the nearest thing possible to being anchored on our own boat off a tropical island. We have done this in the past but it is difficult to replicate. |The one main difference from our last visit to French Polynesia by yacht was the superb care from the staff ,always at hand if you wanted something but never intrusive . |The cuisine was excellent and compared with many top destinations around the world . Despite the island’s isolation the ingredients were fresh and exquisitely prepared and presented . We were invited to take breakfast on the beach under a sunshade in total privacy with a table decorated by tropical flowers and served by the most charming staff. days in splendid isolation , Days were spent snorkelling, kayaking and enjoying each others company just as we had planned. Our every expectation was met.|The standard of accommodation is excellent with superbly comfortable bed and the most perfect view of Bora Bora across the water.. At sunset the only noise was the sound of birds and frogs! h||Heavenly I am so pleased we chose Vahine we would love to return.

Such a unique, great experience !!!||Forget the traditional “definition” of luxury: no air conditioned, no room services, no plenty of people surrounding you to ask whether you need something … no!||At Fafarua we explored a totally new dimension of luxury: the whole beautiful environment, the motu and the surrounding areas were just there for us (and only us!), to be explored at our pace, at any moment, without interactions.||The luxury sounds who accompanied us were the soft wind over the coconut palm trees, the lapping of the waves gently touching the shore … the amazing soft while incessant sound of hermit crabs' legs gnawing on coconuts … and the music we love, if and when we wanted it! No other sounds, voices, music or noise produced by anybody else!|| ||On top of this paradisiac environment, we have been gently accompanied by two outstanding hosts: the perfect and discreet organization set by Patrick, the delicious delicacies cooked by Eva, and the wide culture of Patrick, giving the opportunity of several interesting exchanges about French Polynesia as well as many other topics.|| ||Our days were opening and closing by snorkeling cross a wonderful coral garden between two motus, surrounded by an impressive and multicolor marine life; then, each morning we were enjoying a different place or activity chosen by us, having intimate lunch in the shade of a tree, with a beautiful view on the sea; the afternoon being free for us to explore the motus, the boundaries towards the ocean, the wonderful sea and the corals, and capture all the beautiful colors at the sunset, in complete intimate environment!|| ||We hope to have the opportunity in the future to meet again Patrick and Eva, and enjoy again this remote and intimate Paradise!|| ||Thank you!!||Giovanna & Massimo

MAGICAL! Truly an extraordinary experience. The resort is very remote, intimate (just 9 bungalows) and luxury. Everyone made sure our stay was incredibly special - from the greeting at the dock to romantic dinners with delicious food expertly prepared and excursions and the location- it was amazing! We will return.

We spent four nights at Vahine Island in July. We had an over-the-water bungalow. One of three! The bungalow was comfortable. The hammock on the deck was incredible! The chaise loungers were, too. There are steps straight from the deck into the water. The water’s shallow, maybe three feet, and of course clear. There’s a little coral under each bungalow, and a bit more along the dock, so there are a few fish around. We also saw a couple of small stingrays and sharks near the dock. With only one restaurant, of course, food choices are limited. Breakfast was consistently good… eggs prepared to order, pancakes, fresh fruit. I don’t recall what other options there were. We never ate lunch. Dinner was… interesting. They give you the menu at breakfast and you can request something different if it’s seriously unappealing. One evening they had duck, so we asked for something else… they offered chicken, but then got us mixed up with another couple and we ended up with a beef dish. Most of the food was good but there was nothing “simple” on the menu. Lots of sauces. I will say, the restaurant staff was amazing! Very warm. Very attentive. Much of the staff seems to speak limited English. Not too surprising in FRENCH Polynesia, but it occasionally was an issue. For example, the guide for the snorkeling activity struggled to communicate with us and, because there was also a French couple, we felt basically ignored much of the time. Speaking of activities, due to the small size, options are a bit limited. You can snorkel, either right around the bungalows or in the coral garden. You can borrow a kayak. There’s a small library. The activities they list on the website are available, but may require a few days’ notice to arrange. There are no TVs in the bungalows! There is WiFi service. If you’re looking for a quiet place to do very little, I definitely recommend Vahine Island! Oh, and they’ve just been bought by the Pearl Resorts group… hard to say what might change. If

My husband and I recently spent 4 nights at Vahine Island during our 3 week trip to French Polynesia. We stayed in one of the overwater bungalows and enjoyed it immensely. |Our entire experience was phenomenal. During our boat ride from Uturoa, our driver slowed down to point out sharks and rays in the water. Our lunch order was taken so that it would be ready when we arrived. There were lots of excursions available for an additional cost but these were not pushed on us. |We stayed in one of three overwater bungalows and loved being able to swim and snorkel right off our deck. We had our own snorkel gear but there was gear available for us to use if we had needed it. There were kayaks and paddle boards available as well.|The staff was always available but never intrusive. |The food was excellent. We were presented the dinner menu at breakfast and we could ask for small changes to suit our taste. |The small, intimate nature of this resort (3 overwater bungalows and 6 beach bungalows) suited our travel preferences perfectly. We loved our experience!

The island and overwater bungalow were beautiful. Service was not great. There were only 3 couples on the island and we were always feeling like we were a bother. Water is not included which is crazy when you are paying over $800 USD a night. Breakfast was nice. Only one choice for dinner. One glass of wine or a cocktail should be included in the dinner price. No hair conditioner so make sure you bring your own. Soap products were cheap. We were supposed to have a snorkel tour and they just said follow the sticks. The boards and other equipment was in rough shape and it looked like the large house had all the quality equipment with the bungalows having the leftovers. For the price we expected more of a top service experience.

We had a magical 5 nights here- wonderful staff, lovely cabin with a spectacular view across to Bora Bora, great food. Everything you need for a perfect stay is here- snorkeling gear, reef shoes, boat trips, canoes, etc. The pick up (by boat) from the little airport was a lovely start to our stay. Snorkeling was good- but you could also see a lot of the marine life and coral just by walking in the lagoon. I cannot think of anything which I would change- only regret was having only 5 days here!
