Vaikom Mahadeva Temple

We had a very unique and spiritual experience when we visited this temple on our drive up from Kumarakom to Kochi. For the men, one is required to remove one's shirts/tshirts while visiting the sanctum of the 🛕 temple. There are kiosks outside the temple where we can remover our footwear for a token fee. The temple is spread over extensive grounds with a large pond inside. The sanctum is covered in exquisite mural paintings - breathtaking beauty!! The darshan was very peaceful and uplifting! A must visit when in the greater Kochi area!!

I visited the Vaikom Mahadeva Temple two days ago, and the atmosphere was truly divine. The temple surroundings are clean, well-maintained, and filled with a serene energy that makes you want to sit and soak in the moment.A wonderful place for anyone seeking peace, spirituality, and a break from the rush of daily life. Nice evening vibs ! Inside the temple, there are lot of painting on the outer walls. There is a nice carving in wooden and in stone & is AMAZING to visit in the evening because there is a Puja Aarti and drum sounds all around the temple. It is very big area, which is having outer border four doors out of which one is always closed and there is entry from three other doors.
