Vajdahunyad Castle

The castle is a fascinating sight because it’s not a single, cohesive building. It’s a mix of different architectural styles, with parts of it modeled after famous buildings from various parts of Hungary. You can see Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque elements all seamlessly blended together. It's a truly unique and beautiful place to explore.

A suggestive place, one of the highlights of City Park. The mix of architectural styles and the peaceful setting make it feel magical. One thing that stands out is the presence of a statue inside the courtyard, a mysterious, that gives the castle an even more intriguing vibe. It’s one of the most photographed spots in the area. The exterior of the castle is completely free to visit, and you can walk around the courtyards, the lake, and the surrounding park without paying anything. Only the museum inside requires a ticket, but exploring the outside is already worth the visit.

It's such a beautiful place to visit. The park around is also nice for a stroll. We loved every second of it. Truly feels like Dracula's castle, so a ++ if you got children.

A short walk behind the grand statues of Heroes' Square is a surprising and delightful place: Vajdahunyad Castle. It's a wonderful, almost storybook-like location, and unlike a true fortress, it feels more like an open-air museum of architectural styles. We were lucky to visit during a holiday, and the atmosphere was fantastic. The highlight for us was the medieval stand for play. It was a fun and unexpected addition to the visit, with people in costumes and games that added a sense of excitement and history to the beautiful setting. It’s a great example of how this castle brings the past to life. Vajdahunyad Castle is a wonderful place to walk around, take photos, and simply enjoy the peaceful park setting. It offers a great mix of history, architecture, and a fun atmosphere, making it a highly recommended stop right next to Heroes' Square.

A nice historical castle dating back to the 19th century. A great area for walking around and admiring the beautiful artitecture. It is located in the city park which is easily accessible. I would highly recommend a visit if In the area

Underrated place to see! Definitely worth the visit as it only takes 5-10 minutes to go through and there’s beautiful parks and hero’s square nearby. Beautiful architecture and interesting sculptures. Look out for the little man reading a book. (Enter castle -> Walk to the end -> Turn right and walk -> Turn right again, there’s a staircase to a lower level) During the winter they also have a carnival and Europe’s largest ice skating rink here which is a must.

One of the best places to visit in Budapest. The castle looks like something out of a Disney movie. I spent 2 hours just being amazed how beautiful it was. You can see the exterior for free. However, the souvenir shop is a bit expensive. You can get the same thing at a cheaper price at the grand market.

Such a quiet place, perfect for a nice stroll. The whole place felt like it's stuck in the past, which I really liked, especially during the gloomy weather we had when we visited the place. It felt like it fell right out of a book (perhaps even Dracula hence the Kolodko statue?).
