Vajra Books and Gifts

Been trying to go here for a while, but they keep unconventional hours and seem to only be open when the old man is feeling up to it. Quality of the books seems subpar, but they are incredibly well stocked with quite a variety and given how difficult it is to find a used bookstore these days now that everything has gone online, so my initial misgivings can be forgiven... once inside it's quickly apparent that they have a sizeable collection of vintage vinyl records, looks like 10,000 records at a glance. They really should be marketing themselves as a vintage vinyl, books and more, because Im not sure that anyone other than the locals who've been around for decades are aware of the treasure trove here. Found a NOS sealed Santana Abraxis, and an old Velvet underground that Ive wanted for years. Too much to look at, and I'll definitely be back to build out my collection, now that I've found this hidden gem!

Went during hours posted on this site and the business was closed. Apparently people who have reviewed before were correct when saying that this owner is never there. Not worth planning your day around. If in the area, do a drive by but don't expect much.

This place is never open. Closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and sign on doors says it is open rest of the week from noon to 6. I have been here several saturdays during that time frame and it’s never open. Looks nice inside but that is just a tease!

Tons of used books, albums, jewelry, and more. Not fancy. I have spent countless hours reading and hundreds of dollars over the years.

It’s a charming, good old-fashion kinda bookstore that smells like books 🙂 I’ll be returning when I have more time to spare...
