Vakkaru Maldives

We had the pleasure of spending a wonderful family holiday (with two kids, 6 and 3) at Vakkaru Maldives in December 2024, and it was truly an experience to remember! From the moment we stepped foot on the island until the moment we left, everything was seamless and perfect.||||Our Beach Pool Villa was spacious, luxurious, and ideal for a family with children. With privacy and direct beach access, it provided the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. The private pool ist just amazing!!||||One thoughtful touch was that every family member received a bicycle with a personalized name tag. Exploring the island on bikes was a highlight for all of us and added an extra layer of joy to our stay.||||The dining experiences were exceptional. Every restaurant offered a diverse range of cuisines that pleased both adults and kids. Special thanks to Luthfy and Ushan for their warm hospitality and impeccable service.||||Our "Personal Lifestyle Manager" (i don't like to call somebody "Butler), Alam, deserves special recognition. He made us feel genuinely cared for, attending to our every need with professionalism and warmth.||||The Kids' Club kept our children entertained, allowing us to enjoy some relaxing time at the spa. The entire team’s service was outstanding, always going above and beyond to ensure our comfort.||||We have nothing to complain about. Every aspect of our holiday was perfect, and we are incredibly grateful for the memories we created at Vakkaru Maldives. Thanks to Ted and his entire team for making our vacation so special. We are already dreaming of our next visit!

The level of service provided by Vakkaru staff, on all counts, was impressive and they have accomodated all our requests and the level of hospitality is something one must experience.||||The food was to the highest standards. All restaurants offer a diversity of cuisines including breakast with a great buffet. Staff continuously ask for feedback throughout our stay.||||Noticing that my wife had her birtbday they have decorated the room, pool area and treated us further. ||||The quality of staff is impressive and all were very friendly to us and we now feel we have a second family at Vakkaru.||||Facilities at Vakkaru are excellent. The spa and staff ably managed by Ayurveda Dr Surandi Dissanyake is very professional and meticulous. Facilities at the spa and gym are to optimum level. The villas are very clean, fully equipped with all necessities, with breathtaking views.||||I would like to say thank you to all staff, with a number who were even closer to us.||||- Luthfy who was always present in the restaurants, asking for feedback and very friendly/dedicated, same as Mo and Aslah.||||Other staff who distinguished themselves were Renu, Shifau adam, Ankita, Zain, Fog. Very friendly and dedicated to their work.||||Last and not least, the Chef Mr Ushan merits a special thanks for accomodating our dietary requests and form preparing special dishes throughout our stay. You are great Ushan.||||The butler assigned to us, Alam, who distinguished himself as being trustworthy and have accomodated all our requests, guiding us and recommending things to do based on his experience, always curteous and reliable.||||I would also like to comment on the Vakkaru staff located at Male Airport for facilitating baggage, sea transport and check in from Male/Vakkaru and Vakkaru/Male.||||Well done to all and looking forward to stay again at Vakkaru Maldives.

Our Holiday in Vakkaru Maldives| |The following is our feedback after having spent 7 nights at Vakkaru Maldives, the first few days in an “Over Water Villa” and the remaining days in a “Beach Pool Villa”.| | |Overall level of Service by Vakkaru Staff| |The level of service provided by Vakkaru staff, on all counts, was impressive and they have accomodated all our requests. The level of hospitality is something one must experience and goes beyond normal expectations.| |Noticing that my wife had her birthday on 21 December, our room was surprisingly decorated, with birthday wishes at the pool area, bath and the bed itself. We were also provided with a bottle of champagne and other treats.| |In summary, the quality of staff is impressive and all were very friendly to us and we now feel we have a second family at Vakkaru.|Room facilities| |Room facilities are great in both the over water and beach pool villa. Cleaning of the room was undertaken on frequent times during the day. Again well done to all relevant personnel.| | |Restaurants| |We have tried all restaurants, ably managed by management supported by restaurant personnel. All restaurants offer a diversity of cuisines including breakast with a great and varied buffet.|||Spa||Spa facilities at Vakkaru are excellent. The spa was very ably managed by Ayurveda Dr Surindi Dissanyake, who turned out to be very professional and meticulous in her work. ||Special thanks to specific staff at Vakkaru||Words of praise goes to Mr Lufthy who was always friendly with us and took that extra step to ensure we have a great holiday. He was always present during breakfast and in restaurants and always treated us with respect. | |Mr Ushan is an amazing chef and we would definitely recommend for anyone wanting a delicious, intimate meals/breakfast. The menu was thoughtfully put together and Mr Ushan merits a special thanks and a big well done for accomodating our dietary requests and prepared special dishes throughout our stay. He has a professional approach and presentation of food is immaculate.| | |The butler assigned to us, Alam, who distinguished himself as being trustworthy and have accomodated all our requests, guiding us and recommending things to do based on his experience, always curteous and reliable. He was always present when in need and took care of all our bookings at the restaurants, spa and Splash.||Other staff who distinguished themselves throughout our stay where Renu, Shifau Adam, Ankita, Zain, Fog with whom we spoke daily, and have built a strong relationship with them considering we were there for only a few days. ||I would also like to commend the Vakkaru seaport and Malta airport staff for facilitating baggage, sea transport and check in from Male/Vakkaru/Male.||In summary, I have only words of praise to all the Vakkaru staff and looking forward for my second visit during 2025/26

The experience here at Vakkaru Maldives was amazing. We experienced so many different and amazing things and we had a lot of fun. Our butler Cora was very helpful and really friendly. She booked our restaurants as well as all our activities which was a big help. She is a really smiley person and she is eager to help. The people here were really friendly and warm. Overall our experience here was incredible and we are really happy that we came.

This is a great resort. Not only is the environment beautiful, but the variety of restaurants and the quality of the meals are also very high. I especially recommend the Vakkaru Reserve wine cellar restaurant. Thanks to our Chinese housekeeper Tina for helping us handle various affairs with care. We had a lot of fun here

Simply the best. I’m not sure what more you could ask for in life. What a privilege to have these days of relaxation here in Vakkaru. The service is omnipresent without being intrusive. Everything is so wonderfully catered for. The standard of food and beverage is first class and all the more special for being on an isolated island in the middle of the ocean. Modern, comfortable luxury meets a pristine ocean environment. Just WOW. Well done to the whole team at Vakkaru and especially to our dedicated, professional, and unassuming butler, Longey. You are simply the best.

What a fantastic place - we could not fault it. We found all the staff incredibly friendly and they went above and beyond. A special thanks to our butler Naaish, housekeeper Imma and Mal at the kids club. ||The island is beautiful and was fantastic for our kids - the kids club is by far the best we have ever seen (they wanted to be there all day every day). ||We will hopefully be back to visit next year!

I wrote a previous review which I have now deleted and updated. Whilst critical of Vakkaru previously, having spent two weeks here after previous multiple visits you realise this is one of the best islands in the Maldives. ||The staff are fantastic, the food excellent and the island is one of the most beautiful if not the most beautiful in the Maldives. ||Management has changed recently and if they can adjust and understand what it’s like to run a Maldives property, Vakkaru will surely return to its rightful place as a must visit resort. ||Vakkaru has everything you need from an amazing house reef, beautiful beaches and the most caring staff. However it needs culture, atmosphere and an identity which it is currently lacking. I hope for everyone’s sake including ours this changes soon so we can return and continue our love of the island.
