Vale Do Zezere

This hotel was a fantastic find. The rooms have spectacular views overlooking the mountains. We went to dinner in their restaurant and enjoyed the braised goat and grilled lamb. The food was excellent. The next morning they laid a sumptuous breakfast spread with fresh fruit, multiple breads, cheese and meat, yogurt, cereals, fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee. We would absolutely come back to this great find. The area is spectacular and worth the trip and the hotel made this stay one for the memory books. |

We stayed in this hotel this last weekend. We wanted a place near Top of Serra da Estrela so we could enjoy the snow and hotel surroudings. Although its a 2 estar hotel the instalation are very good. The room is cosy and the staff warmed the room before we arrived. Breakfast is also very good. It's very good to stay for a few nights. But the most important is the staff. A very kind and available one. My wife didn't feel well (due the altitute in the mountains) and they helped a lot to make her confortable (a hot soup for example) and getting medical help. It's great being in a strange place, falling ill and having this suport. A note, the hote has a restaurante....use is, don't need to look anyhting in Manteigas... good food and good price you can find it here (and also with excelent service)

What an amazing experience to have dinner here. We had no booking but were super lucky that someone cancelled and they set a table for us shortly before closing time. We were recommended the Veal with cheese and the Goat and both dishes were absolutely to die for! We ate so much nut even had dessert, cheesecake and then went for a romantic walk in the villiage. Amazing service, friendly people and relaxed atmosphere. Really worth a visit, make sure you make a reservation!

What a fabulous hotel to stay in when visiting the Estrela mountains. It is within walking distance of the town, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Great room...normal European size but had a small fridge which was unusual. Breakfast was plentiful and very good. Really reasonably priced for what we got. We would stay here again.

Had an overnight stop here 14th October 2019.|We found the facilities and room very modern. Staff most helpful with parking right outside the front door.|Dinner at the restaurant was exceptionally good with a very hearty breakfast offered the next morning. Considering the price was very reasonable we highly recommend this as a place to stay in the beautiful Manteigas area.

This is also a hotel but I'm rating the restaurant in it. We went there tonight for supper. We ordered the chicken with risotto ( mushrooms). It was a huge portion for two with great risotto with shrooms from the mountains around. The waiter did not speak great English but was so nice so it was ok. They even had a kid's meal (chicken and fries). The salad was quite small though. 29€ for 2 adults and a kid.

We entered the restaurant at exactly 1900 hrs (according to the church's bells) and were looking forward to a hearty dinner after a long hike. In the dining room we found the owners family sitting and finishing their own dinner. The cook told us to "come back in five minutes or so" and within seconds we found ourselves back in the dark and cold night of Manteigas. I don't call this hospitality, consequenly we headed to another restaurant where we were immediately welcomed.

Friendly, family-run hotel conveniently located on the edge of the charming town of Mantiegas. The bedroom was clean and spacious. The restaurant had a scheduled closure the night we stayed. They provided a secure lockup for the bicycles. An enjoyable visit.
