Beautiful cathedral! 22 Euros for a family of 4 yo enter. Small chaple with the holy chalice is amazing. Lots of old books and artifacts preserved in a room you walk through. No food drinks or hats worn inside. Easy walk through old town Valencia.

Worth every penny! The cathedral is stunning, the audio guide expertly walks you through and the experience is exceptional. The walk up the tower is an extra 3 Euros and not for the claustrophobic! Lots and lots of stairs! The payoff is a panoramic view of the city and worth it from my perspective.

The Cathedral of Saint Mary in Valencia (which incorporates several architectural styles), on the site of a former Roman temple dedicated to the Goddess Diana (which in turn became a mosque in Moorish times). Started in the thirteenth century (year 1252), the construction of this Gothic temple continued until the eighteenth century. Initially, the church was dedicated to the Savior, and then El Cid dedicated it to the Virgin Mary. The Cathedral of Valencia, together with the Canon Hall and the famous octagonal tower of La Miguelete (built in 1418) make up a unitary whole, combining the Gothic style alongside the Baroque and keeping within its walls many artistic and religious treasures. Among the most notable are two paintings by Goya in the Chapel of San Francesco.

Valencia Cathedral (La Seu), dedicated to Mary in 1238, is a magnificent building that combines Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque styles. You can see the Holy Grail (the chalice from the Last Supper). The entrance ticket is 10 euro, the audio guide is included in preice, and for additional 2 euro you can climb the Miguelete Tower for views over the city.

An amazing cathedral with a very comfortable way of visiting. You get your own headset and walk around following the route. You need more or less one hour for that and at the end there is a huge thing - Holy Grail! Good family price.

This is a really nice cathedral. Beautiful inside and affordable ticket prices which include a recorded tour guide that takes you all around the cathedral. We've been touring a lot of cathedrals all over portugal and spain and this was the very best in terms of the recorded tour that explains everything. They also have a basement part that has real ruins from the roman era including burial bones. It also claims to have the holy grail which is a chalice that Jesus drank from at the last supper.

Valencia Cathedral is an absolutely stunning place, full of history, art, and spiritual atmosphere. The architecture is impressive, with a beautiful mix of Gothic, Romanesque, and Baroque styles that reflects centuries of history. Inside, the cathedral feels peaceful and inspiring. The artwork, chapels, and details are breathtaking. I like so much both inside and outside of the cathedral. I visited here on Friday, there was a ceremony. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the old town, surrounded by lively squares and historic streets. Whether you are religious or simply interested in culture and history, this is a must-visit landmark in Valencia. I highly recommend taking your time to explore and truly appreciate the atmosphere of this remarkable cathedral.

The size of this museum-like cathedral is absolutely stunning. We really didn't know what to expect when we entered. After visiting dozens of other 'mosque-cathedrals', gothic style cathedrals and churches built on the former mosque, we felt definitely overwhelmed by the size and information provided by audio tour. So, yes, we skipped a bit, but for the history and religion buffs-this one will be a treat! On top of it you get to lay your eyes on supposed' Holy Grail'.

You wouldn't have missed Catedral de Valencia if you are visiting Valencia. It is just massive and with really interesting architectural details. You probably would have seen it's bell tower illuminated by spotlight when you wandering around town at night. Interesting Fact from WIkipedia: One of the supposed Holy Chalices in the world is revered in one of this cathedral's chapels; this chalice has been defended as the true Holy Grail; indeed, most Christian historians all over the world declare that all their evidence points to this Valencian chalice as the most likely candidate for being the authentic cup used at the Last Supper. It was the official papal chalice for many popes, and has been used by many others, most recently by Pope Benedict XVI, on July 9, 2006.This chalice dates from the 1st century, and was given to the cathedral by king Alfonso V of Aragon in 1436. I was luckily enough to even have a glimpse of a late night mass going on. A must visit if you are in town!

I have been to so many churches that I feel like I get mixed about between some of the churches in Europe, thank god for photos! There were a few gypsies located outside this church, so be careful of your belongings! We were brought in here by a local tour guide of Valenica who carefully explained the items in each of the halls of the church. Entering in the church, the altar was wide and was an open area with six paintings surrounded by a gold frame. The first hall was being renovated as many of the twelve statues faces and heads need a bit of a touch up. Here, you will also find pictures painted by Goya, one of the famous artists in Spain. Finally, what amazed me the most was the Holy Chalace. This is probably the most valuable item of the church as this cup was believed to be the cup Jesus drank in during the Final Supper.

Part Gothic and part Romanesque the Catedral de Valencia stands prominently at the center of town and although an attractive Church it fails to compare to many of Spain's best, particularly when considering the cost of admission for a visit that is likely to take most less than thirty minutes.

This was truly one of the most incredible museum-like experience I've ever had. My parents and I opted to do an audio tour, and we were extremely glad we did. Not only did we leave more educated about Catholicism in gothic Spain, but we saw the alleged Holy Grail. I think we were most surprised by the lack of people in the church, as we were alone by the pulpit (near the Holy Grail) for the entire time we were in the chapel. I'm not religious at all, and even I felt a flood of warmth and spirituality. This should not be missed.

Like most religious buildings in Spain, this cathedral is standing on the former Islamic mosque which in turn stood on the much earlier Visigothic cathedral which was built on top of a Roman Temple dedicated to Jupiter or Diana (you can see the temple's columns in situ in the Almoina Museum just behind). Its style is a hodge podge of Gothic, Romanesque, Baroque and Neo-Classical as it took centuries to construct. Towards the Plaza de la Virgen you can see the Gothic entrance, towards the Plaza de la Reina there is the Baroque entrance and last but not least, is the Romanesque entrance on the side facing the Almoina (Ruins of the Ancient Roman city). Every time I take tourist to see the interior I take them to a chapel just behind the main altar where there is a creepy mummified arm of Saint Vincent Martyr. I also show them the site where apparently King James I Conqueror said the first mass at the site of the Mosque when Valencia was reconquered from the Moors. Apparently the Holy Grail is in this Cathedral, in what used to be the Chapter House. I used to love sitting in this room as it was peaceful and pretty but recently you have to pay to enter and I refuse to do so. I'd actually prefer if they removed the Holy Grail from there if it meant that you could then freely access the space. They even close it when you are allowed to wander through the cathedral for free... You can climb the tower (El Miguelete) for views but personally I prefer the panoramic views from the Torres de Quart (Quart Towers).

Great place to visit in Valence, a must see ! Hope you're healthy because you will need it to go on the top of the Church, about 300 stairs to climb (after you paid 2 euros°. The view is wonderful upstair :) Valence at his best !

A must see for site seeing in Valencia! Ever feel like after seeing one Church you've seen them all? Well this will hopefully change that! Much of the architecture in Valencia was influenced by the Moors (Arabs/Muslims that occupied Spain for a long time). I wish I was a history major because then I could tell you more. The building was started by the Moors, then adapted with Christian architecture over time to what it is now. So you'll see a mix of architecture and design both inside and out. The domes are rather impressive, the archways make for great photos, oh... did I mention the Holy Grail happens to be here? Well at least what is believed to be the Holy Grail (who am I to confirm or deny this). But have you been to a Church with the Holy Grail? That alone gives this Cathedral a bit more interest value!

Valencia's cathedral is very pretty, a little on the odd side - the mummified hand and the priest's bones are interesting to look at. It's based in the Old Town and backs onto the main square where all the locals sit and eat. There is an entry fee where you get an audio guide to help you along, but no one told us when we walked in so we never actually paid (not that you should have to pay to see a place of worship anyway). But this is the one place that has the closest thing to the Holy Grail, and the legends tell of fairytale stories like knights who sat at a round table

We visited the Valencia Cathedral on our visit to Valencia. The Cathedral is really pretty and worth a visit. There is a great view of the city from the top of the Cathedral. And it's only 2 euros to get into the Cathedral.

If it werent such a tourist mecca, i think i would have enjoyed being here more. It was a hot day and i didnt want to deal with the line. S i peeked in from the entrance and got my fill. It's the craftsmanship extenally plus the architecture that really interested me. It's always crazy to think of these huge monuments to religion that were built ages ago with no modern technology. Certainly an impressive feat of construction

We've been to a lot of Cathedrals during our two months in Spain - Sevilla, Granada, Cadiz, Arcos, Ronda, and Valencia. And honestly, Valencia's was one of the most interesting, not just because of the Holy Grail (though it attracts huge crowds), or because of the stunning recently restored frescoes in the apse, but also because it actually seems set up for tourism. Unlike other audio guides, the one offered at the Valencia Cathedral is very clear (at other Cathedrals, the English audio guide is often a word-for-word translation of the Spanish guide which can make for a pretty choppy and confusing listening experience), very interesting. The various stops for the audio guide are very clearly signposted, and, when you leave the cathedral, a woman who works there stops you and asks if you enjoyed your visit, and if you have any feedback for them.

Interesting attractions, beautiful both outside inside. A few halls for viewing .Very like stained glass. Bought on the memory card with the Grail. Minus one - the entrance fee. It was interesting to climb the tower and see the city from above.
