Amazing place for camping in a tent. Very clean and well kept. Very safe for anyone with kids. The toilets, showers etc were all spotlessly clean. The facilities were cleaner than some of the hotels I’ve stayed in around the world which says a lot about a campsite. Worth a visit I would just add one caveat, and that is that there is nowhere to get food in Knightstown after 9pm. If it’s a busy weekend and you don’t have a reservation in the local hotel then you’re snookered. If you’re out for a few drinks in the village, best to prepare and have some nibbles in your tent or camper unit for the evening!

Everything was supposed to be great : lovely surroundings, clean facilities, central location, friendly staff. But we learned the hard way that those green meticulously cut lawn on every pitch comes with a noisy price. You should be aware that friday is apparently mowing day and that a gardener will loudly cut grass right in front your nose with his motorised tools, preventing you from enjoying the quiet and peaceful afternoon you actually paid for despite complaining twice about it. We were really looking forward this stay to rest after several days of driving.

Valentia Island Caravan is a great place to camp. The facilities are very good, everything was clean, tidy, and well looked after, which made the stay comfortable. The site feels safe and relaxed, and it’s in a lovely location, just a short walk from the small harbour. It’s a peaceful spot and perfect if you want to enjoy nature without being too far from local sights. Overall, a really good camping experience. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone exploring the area.

Very clean and very good facilities . Mostly everything is new. You have to pay extra for shower. Very nice spot for the night with a short walking distance to the harbour. Management should consider charging full at booking for short term so hikers don’t get scolded for being late for checking in. Or should consider a self check in system. The camping site is literally next to the main street so it could be loud. (it was)

Valentia Island Caravan & Camping park located 5 minutes walk from the beautiful village of Knightstown, on the island of Valentia is a lovely place to stop off and unwind. The facilities are perfect and so clean. |The location for visiting the island, the Skellig's and west Kerry is perfect.|The local hotel "The Royal Hotel" serves food and is a lovely location for a quiet drink.|Drop down to Waterville an meet Charlie Chaplin when you are here.

As others have said its a well kept site with friendly owners in an historical interesting area with its slate mining and telecommunications history. The toilet and shower facilities are excellent; 1€ for 5 minutes. The cubicles are a little on the small side and a shower curtain would be useful to stop spray from reaching the door. The disability cubicle is probably the best I’ve come across in Ireland . Another good feature is the wide drive over grey waste water grid, with ample space around it to manoeuvre one’s van. The only thing I could add is that the kitchen area has only one sink so that could mean a long queue on a busy summer weekend. The island is windy probably at the best of times so a few taller trees on the perimeters of the site may help to reduce the gusting, but of course such things take time to grow. The campsite and the town is well worth a visit and also the Boston Bar near the harbour.
