10 Best All-inclusive Resorts in Playa del Carmen

"This adults-only resort is known for its low-key atmosphere and loyal repeat guests. It features a stretch of white sand, a lazy river-style pool, and spacious suites. Guests can enjoy 11 bars and seven a la carte restaurants, but a dress code is required. The resort is expansive, which might be a consideration for guests with limited mobility." - Travel + Leisure Editors

14 Best All-inclusive, Adults-only Resorts in Mexico

"Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya may be centrally located, but its enviable stretch of pristine white-sand beach will have you thinking you've tumbled into a castaway fantasy. The sun-bleached stretch of sand is among the best in the area, and the palapa-topped buildings and thick jungle foliage only add to the romance. Still, the resort — which was a 2021 World's Best Awards winner — is anything but rugged, with elegant guest rooms, eight restaurants, and 11 bars." - Travel + Leisure Editors

We stayed at Valentin Maya Riviera for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. We originally booked for 8 nights and extended after the first day. The staff were so friendly and professional from the very minute we arrived. Nothing was ever too hard or inconvenient. You can immediately tell it is a well run operation with excellent inside communication. Check in was a beautiful experience in itself, walking into the lobby with the signature scent, being seated with a welcome drink and a number so there was no waiting in lines. We booked the swim up golden room and it was stunning, so clean comfortable and opens straight out onto the pool and our own little area with sunbeds. There were servers from 10am to late everyday so we could swim, tan and order drinks and food without leaving our room. The food quality and service in all the restaurants was exceptional. We loved the dress codes and having to dress up for meals, it was also lovely seeing all other guests putting in the effort, created a fun vibe for the evenings. The activities team do an excellent job of creating fun things to do during the day for those that want to keep busy, and generally just amping you up every time they see you. The talent in the evening shows was next level, it was so special to go for a full dining experience then walk to the theatre and be treated to a different performance every night. The property was beautifully maintained, the turn down service at night was so special, honestly I could go on with more but would highly recommend experiencing it for yourself.

We just returned from an amazing 7-night stay at Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya, and we’re already dreaming about going back! From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The staff was incredibly attentive and kind, always ready with a smile and happy to help with anything we needed. Whether we were at the pool, restaurants, or just strolling the grounds, the service was consistently top-notch. The food and drinks were outstanding—plenty of variety, high-quality ingredients, and delicious flavors across every restaurant and bar. We never had a bad meal or drink the entire trip. We stayed in one of the Emerald Suites, and it was perfect. Spacious, comfortable, and just steps away from the beach with a view that felt straight out of a postcard. Waking up to that scenery each day was unbelievable. The grounds are beautifully maintained—lush gardens, pristine pools, and stunning beaches. It truly felt like paradise. This was one of the best vacations we’ve ever had, and we can’t recommend Valentin Imperial enough. We’ll definitely be back!

We had the best time at VIM! We were there with a large group celebrating a big birthday, and right from the start we felt like our whole group was accommodated. Dora made us feel like we were family our entire stay! The food and service were top notch. The pool, the rooms, and the property were clean and well kept. The Go Team had the main pool engaged and entertained all day - shout out to Pablo, Carlos, Daniel, and Isabell! But we also loved that there were quieter locations when we were looking to relax! We loved the morning activities - 5k, bike rides, we played pickleball, and the Imperial Band was fantastic! We will be back!

We stayed for 6 days in a golden swim up suite and it was amazing. The service and quality from the staff were outstanding. Our favorite pool though is the main pool, we always go with the Prive package because we enjoy all of the extras it brings, especially the reserved palapa. But what really makes our stay the best is the people who work at the VIM. One person who made my day everyday was Sonia at the Sunrise bar at the main pool, she was kind and always happy and made outstanding drinks as well. We had great meals our favorite is the French restaurant (L’Alsace), but all the restaurants are excellent. The grounds are beautiful their tropical paradise really shines throughout the resort. We have already booked our next visit in January for 8 days we are counting down the days. The VIM is our home away from home and we absolutely love it at the VIM.

Our first time at Imperial Valentín and we could not be happier. Every staff member in the resort met us with a smile and went out of their way to accommodate us in every way. We especially loved Dora, Erika, and our favorite bartender Jorge. We tried all of the restaurants and loved them all, the French onion soup at L’Asace and the cochinita pibil at La Hacienda were my favorites! Our rooms were great and housekeeping was on point. We loved the live music every night and visited the churro cart every day! The jungle atmosphere they maintain in the resort is magical, we enjoyed the wildlife and beautiful plants so much! Especially the coatis! I would highly recommend, and will definitely be returning soon! Our only regret is that we never found Kevin before we left!

Google
Such a fun vacation! The restaurants were amazing. Great service all around. Will definitely be returning! The rooms were big, golf cart service was very helpful, workout classes were amazing, the bars were great (especially Don Miguel’s). We loved the coffee shop and the ice cream. The pools were great - made even better by the entertainment such as the Zumba class and foam party. The house cleaning was great. PR team was extremely helpful!

Google
Resort was beautiful with clean paths and lush landscape. The service was exceptional! Deysi at the spa gave me one of the best massages I’ve ever received. Gabriela at LeMarche was so pleasant and friendly and loved seeing me make an Irish coffee at breakfast. The cafe had great coffees and the sandwiches were delicious. My girlfriends and I enjoyed the martini bar and our men enjoyed the Cigar lounge. The pool and swim up bars (Jose was a great bartender!) were great. Overall a great experience and will come back again.

We have stayed at multiple all inclusive resorts in Cancun/Riviera Maya. The food at this one exceeded expectations for an all inclusive. A lot of flavor. We didn’t find a restaurant we didn’t like. The resort is beautiful. Lovely landscaping, close to the jungle with lots of wildlife. The staff was amazing and accommodating everywhere we went. They are so nice, and they did a great job cleaning and preparing our room. Our single complaint was the bed. We didn’t find it very comfortable, and had a hard time sleeping. But we would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
Don't listen to any of the bad reviews on the food, unless you like advice from someone who eats drive through Mcdonalds or Taco Bell every day. Excellent buffet with high quality fish, steak, chicken with Mexican flair since, you know, we are in Mexico right? I literally had to explain to someone what a churro was to a guy who said he lived in So California for 10 years. My American comrades who are now drinking coors instead of bud are an embarrassment.

Yelp
Wow! This place is incredible! I've been to many resorts in Mexico, but this one is the best I have experienced. The food, the vibe, not over crowded, relaxing but wild if you wanted it to be. The pool has floats available to enjoy and they always had something going on. Fire show and Michael Jackson show were big highlights for us! I went with my Mom on a Mother Daughter trip and it was a blast. We took the shuttle from the hotel for $18 to shop in Playa and it was so worth it. Highly recommend doing that if you are looking for gifts for you or others. Overall, I will be back! Had a wonderful time.

Yelp
My trip has been amazing so far and I still have two days to go! The food has been delicious, service has been absolutely amazing. Shout out to some folks like Don Manuel and Don Julio for making this such a special experience!

We returned for our 9th visit at the VIM, need I say more!!!! We absolutely love VIM! All of the staff is amazing, love the "GO" team, Lorenzo is absolutely amazing with everything he does and has become a very good friend of ours. Daniel did a wonderful job at the Pico de Gallo class by the pool and the rest of the "GO" team were just so friendly and made each day so much fun!!!! Always very friendly and courteous!!! We love all of the food we enjoyed there! Love the Italian, Asian, beachfront restaurant, etc etc! We also enjoy the burgers and nachose from the food truck by the pool! The bartenders work very hard at the swim up bars and are always so very nice!!! We can't say enough! This is our home away from home and can't wait to return!!!!

Yelp
This was my 5th time at this amazing 5 star Adults Only resort located in the Riviera Maya..only 25 minutes from the Cancun Airport. As soon as you arrive, you are greeted by a friendly staff member with a warm towel and a delicious glass of champagne. Checkin is super easy and then you are taken to your room by golf cart. We were lucky to be upgraded to the Premium Level Oceanfront Suite. All rooms are suites and most haven't been renovated recently. Each room has a rain shower, seating area, stocked mini fridge and either a patio or balcony. Most buildings only have 3-4 floors. The resort is quite large and is designed to feel like a Mexican Hacienda nestled amid tropical gardens. You will see many different types of birds as well as flowers. Daytime offers 2 restaurants,a Buffett and a food truck. Nighttime offers 7 ala carte restaurants ( reservations not required) as well as 11 bars and 24 hr room service. Believe me you will not go hungry or thirsty! There are various daytime activities offered at the 2 pools as well as nighttime entertainment . The resort is situated on a half mile white sand beach with a few rocky areas. This resort pays attention to the small details which is why we keep going back. A real gem in The Riviera Maya!

Yelp
Excellent pool and beach accommodations, fantastic food at each of the theme restaurants we went to (we tried all of them), outstanding service from the staff. Our golden junior suite was excellent, with a very quick fix to a leak after an absolute deluge of a rainstorm. The quality of the food really stands out for an all-inclusive resort. The teppanyaki experience at Ginger was particularly memorable, and Chef Oscar did a great job and was very considerate of the vegetarian members of our party. Nice variety, a good mix of relaxation and entertainment, and outstanding food that we now have to go on a major diet for. One tip--some of the beach is pretty rocky, so bring boat shoes and be careful of larger rocks near shore if you want to swim there. The multiple pools are really sizeable though. Stayed a week; would definitely go back!

Sam K.

Yelp
Poor service. Was unable to accommodate our party that booked together for our anniversary to stay together. Had such high hopes based on other reviews. Food was cold at several restaurants. We will find other accommodations for next celebration. Not even close to worth the money.

Yelp
We had a wonderful breakfast at Le Marche with Isaac as our server. He took great care of my family and I!

Yelp
High quality adult only all inclusive resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. This resort is a large, safe and well maintained resort. This is my 10th time here and we absolutely love Valentin. There are seven restaurants; our favorites are the Steakhouse, Mexican and Hibachi. Some restaurants do have a dress code so be aware of that. Staff is very friendly, helpful and attentive. The beach is well maintained and clean. We absolutely love the cigar bar and the coffee shop. The entertainment at night is always good. We love the live acoustic guy that plays. We always have a great time at Valentin Imperial Maya.

Yelp
Great property, beautiful grounds that are taken care of daily. Great restaurants for breakfast lunch dinner. The italian , French, all the restaurants are super good food, great help, bussers, waiters, people are so accommodating. The rooms are clean and updated, my only concern is the toilets need to be higher, too low to the ground, only complaints I heard.

Yelp
High quality all-inclusive adults only resort. Affordable, clean, safe; all around fantastic experience. Half of the people we met were return guests. Oceanfront rooms are impressive with included mini-bar restocked daily. White sandy beach w bars, 1 gigantic main event pool and a lazy river quiet pool, numerous restaurant options, churro cart, and open late coffee/dessert shop. Piano bar, martini bar, sports bar. Live bands, nightly shows. Private roundtrip airport shuttle. WiFi throughout property, Bluetooth speakers in room, call ahead room service. Favorite people: Daniel (Mar server), Cesar (entertainment team), Dora (guest services). In summary, my wife and I rarely do getaways, so we like visiting a new destination each time; not anymore!!

Yelp
Absolutely amazing stay! Accommodations were beautiful and centrally located to the pool and restaurants. The amenities were incredible! Seven restaurants, 11 bars, 2 food trucks. Pool side, beach front or within the resort, each one was more beautiful than the next. We loved the main pool with 2 swim up bars. The Don Miguel and their variety of drinks were the best! Beaches were pristine and the nightlife was fun and inviting. Highly recommend this resort! Overall- A Food- B Drinks- A+ Accommodations- A Activities- A+

Yelp
Cons: Went in early June for 1 week- it was humid, rained almost every evening and so every night the mosquitoes were awful!!!!! I swear they love bug spray. Room- on the 1st floor, building 5. It was pretty & clean but smelled strongly of mildew & could use a little updating. The bathroom was clean but the shower head needed a good cleaning or to be replaced. Wished they swept the room once in a while as I was staying there without me having to ask them to. Pool/beach- Not enough shaded chairs and most of them had animal poop on them so you had to remove the cushion or waste a towel covering it. ***None of these things were a dealbreaker. Pros: Beach is beautiful! They work had to keep it clean. Service is a bit slow but order 2 drinks and pour 1 in a tumbler, problem solved. Vendors aren't in your face, they take no for an answer. Main Pool: Service and entertainment are fantastic. Food trucks aren't too bad for a snack/light lunch. Golden pool: Service is slow but the drinks are strong & food good. Restaurants: Fantastic and if you don't like a dish then order something else, they don't care (remember to tip your servers!) Buffets had a good selection and surprisingly so did the evening restaurants. Cafe: The morning guy was on point! The night guy, horrible. Never got a good drink from him. * I would totally go back. But it would be earlier in the year. I also now know what foods & drinks I like so I can focus on those instead of sampling as much as possible before I had to leave.

Yelp
Great all inclusive resort!! We plan to return soon!! Loved they provided a shuttle

Jason B.

Yelp
Literally just walked in and cannot wait to go back again next year. Resort is filled with a lot of repeat guests so you see a lot of familiar faces. The resort is immaculate, the food is good and there's plenty of activities for everybody. The staff are super friendly, quick to help with anything and add to the experience. Quick shout out to Oscar (Sports Book), Ariel (pool bar) and Rodolfo (Don Miguel). But the real and biggest shout out goes to Manuel (Primo!). We met him last year early in our trip and continued talking through the week. He not only remembered us, but treated us like family. We tried to say good bye today before we left but unfortunately he was on lunch. We asked another server to relay the message that his primos stopped over to say good bye. Not only did she relay the message, but as we turned to go into the shuttle to leave we hear "Primo". Turned around and see Manny going out of his way to see us off. I already cannot wait to go back.

Yelp
The ABSOLUTE best all-inclusive resort you could choose. The staff, restaurants, rooms, activities, food, everything you can think of, it's phenomenal and once you stay here, you're addicted! Check-in - You're greeted as soon as your transportation arrives at the front of the building. Bags are handled, you are served champagne and some small bites to eat, and your journey begins. You may have to wait a little while for you room, so grab what you need out of your bag to go by the pool, to a restaurant, whatever! The lobby scent hits you so hard with an amazing smell, that I think they do it on purpose to reset your body to relax on your vacation. Oscar almost made us think twice about when we'd come next, saying "see you in two weeks!" when we were leaving. If only we could be there that often! Rooms - STUNNING. No matter what level you stay in, they're all amazing and do not compare to your standard hotel. The bathroom alone, is totally worth staying here. Many rooms have their own specific flair, whether it's an overhead showerhead, large jacuzzi tub, a balcony, a huge bed with comfy sheets and pillows, and a mini living room, you'll be beyond satisfied. Don't bring shampoo and shower gel, their amazing scented shower items are really great. I wish I could take 100 of them home (they're also sold in the store at the resort, along with the lobby scent). Restaurants/Bars - Each one (French, Italian, Steakhouse, Asian, Hibachi, Mexican, Breakfast[buffet and sit down] Martini Bar, Sports Bar, Coffee Shop, Romantic Diner on Beach), make you never want to leave. The meals are very flavorful and cooked to whatever your liking may be. DRESS ACCORDINGLY per the dress codes of the website and arrive earlier in the evening and you'll be fine. Throughout our two stays, we've NEVER had any issues at all. Special shout-outs to Alejandro & Ricardo that work the Romantic Dinner experience out on the beach. Incredibly professional and timely with all the different courses throughout the exclusively private dinner. Carlos & Oscar at Mari Tierra for seeing us come in every morning and already bringing our drinks before we ordered because they just knew what we would order again! Even our meals were "predicted" due to how often we came there. Elsi at the Asian restaurant, with her cute way of explaining the "dessert book" that comes with mini little desserts. Jose & Luis at the French restaurant, sarcastically giving us a small amount of food on our plate then quickly turning around to give us our full plate! Ate here multiple times and it was funny every time. And their Flambe dessert presentation where Jose effortlessly poured the flaming liquor. Finally, our best friend Rogelio at the main pool bar. Getting to know him very well, his life story, many laughs along the way, great service every single day. "Don't worry be happy", was the words of advice from Rogelio! Go Entertainment Team (activity coordinators) - Every single event they put on, whether it was an evening show, mechanical bull riding, dance, cooking or Spanish lessons, or tequila tasting, they were all so friendly and really enjoyed their job. You could absolutely tell. Lorenzo and his crew do a phenomenal job every singe day. Each day has a lot of different activities in different parts of the resort to do. Yet another reason to not want to leave this place! The wonderful and amazing Dora, walks around and makes sure that everyone is having the best time possible and how VIM can improve. After our second visit here, it's hard to think of anything to improve because this paradise is absolutely perfect. Massage Place & Gym - Aromance Spa is an amazing experience. Starting with the sauna & steam room, a long massage (depending on the package you pick), and a nice pedicure at the end. The gym is pretty small, nothing crazy, but nice to get a quick jog or small work out in to work off all of that food and drink from the previous day Bottom line: THE BEST resort you could pick (honeymoon, anniversary, vacation, whatever!). We heard it from many people and all of the experiences above, painted the picture for us as to what VIM offers every single day. There's no lapse of quality or service, ever. Follow dinner dress codes, bring cash for tips, be respectful, come hungry and thirsty, bring lots of sunscreen, and be ready to have fun all day and all night and you will love VIM like my wife and I do. Thanks for amazing memories and looking forward to many more in years to come!

Yelp
I will let you off the hook and tell you now, this resort is worth double what I paid for it. I wrote an extensive review, but due to Yelp's limits, I cannot share it here. From the moment you arrive at the entrance to the Valentin Imperial Rivera Maya, it is sensory overload. Spanning at least half a mile, the road into the resort takes you through three traffic circles. Each of which are adorned with coconut trees and various indigenous shrubs as a center piece. The road is walled in a thick layer on jungle. At a beautiful hotel entrance, our vehicle doors were opened by the staff who passed us ice cold hand towels as the Caribbean heat of the early evening attempted to punish us. The smell of the lobby is indescribable by this reviewer. I distinctly caught lemon and rosemary; my wife, something different all together. We immediately knew we were in for something we had never experienced. A Cathedral ceiling revealed more chandeliers and a host of organ pipes along the wall above the check-in desks. No counters. No lines. In fact, due to its size and design, it was nearly silent even with a dozen people within 50 feet of us. We were escorted to a small table with opulent chairs. We spent our first evening in the pool. While enjoying the temperate water of the pool, the service staff was on a never-ending stroll from the bar to the guests. We decided to stick with piña coladas the rest of the night. We contemplated what the week might bring while we sipped - um, chugged bottomless piña coladas. This trip was a celebration of 20 years of marriage for me and my wife. In those two decades, we had not taken this type of a trip and, as we floated in the pool, we quickly realized this would be the first of annual trips of the same caliber from here on out. Last day: My wife and I sauntered up to the lobby to hangout after our last breakfast. We sat in the expensive furniture and talked about the week's highlights. The sun was still low on the horizon, so its beams washed the entire room in a beautiful glow. We had no particular reason for sitting in the lobby, though we both admitted we wanted to sit in the unforgettable aroma of the building for as long as we could before we went back to our daily lives; and so, we sat. To the staff of the Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Thank you for your hospitality and beauty, your attention to detail will forever be the finishing touch on the perfect celebration of the first 20 years of our love story. We will see you again as soon as we can. Notable staff: Mar y Tierra: Isidro and Teresa L'alsace: Luis La Hacienda: Manuel Main pool: Alejandro Recreation: Jessica Cons: 1)Coors Light and Dos Equis are the only choices for beer on the property. 2)The property is quite spread out. You get used to it by the third day, but a stash of bikes for guest use would be a great addition. 3)Towels available pool side would be helpful. 4)A motion detector in the suite's restroom turns on the lights, which wakes your partner. Pros: 1)For the suites in buildings 6, 7, and 8, the reflective windows block any wandering eyes from seeing in, day or night, so feel free to be you while in your room. I tested this under every possible condition and found our room to be completely private, even with all the lights on. 2)All staff are bilingual, and they are happy to help you with your Spanish along the way, if you're so inclined. 3)The resort is extremely secluded. 4)You can charge anything you purchase to your room. 5)Couples massage was EXCELLENT. Lilli M's review of this resort is a complete farce.

Yelp
Just came back from our honeymoon at Valentin earlier this week! We were there for seven nights. Fun fact: There is a FB Group dedicated to people who love this resort that has over 40,000 members, and now I can see why! We stayed in a Silver Superior Room which was very nice. The open concept bathroom is.... interesting. I would say that you need to stay in this room only if you are very comfortable with someone! Lol. Basically, the tub is in the middle of the room with only a sheer curtain that looks into the bathroom. The shower/toilet have frosted glass doors. The resort is absolutely beautiful! There is a big main pool with two swim-up bars and a quieter pool (called the Golden pool) that has less people, typically. We stayed by the pools most of the week because the beach had sooo much seaweed (not the resorts fault though, just Mother Nature!). Food and drink wise-- Omg... my husband had to roll me onto the plane. They have ~7 different restaurants and all the food was very good! Service was also impeccable between the front desk, wait staff, concierge, and bartenders. I have nothing but good things to say!

Yelp
This past summer my wife and I checked out the Valentin Imperial for our get away vacation. Having not reading any reviews and just wanted to something new we arrived at this beautiful resort with the grand lobby being breathtaking and just plain stunning. As normal we were greeted with champagne and the staff was very courteous and extremely nice and they drove us to our room and the building has it's own concierge which was awesome because they could call and make reservations on your behalf at any of the restaurants on the property. Entering the room was so neat because everything inside was automated even the sign to let room attendants know not to clean the room was also electronic. ALL of the restaurants were was great but our favorite was Ginger, a Japanese restaurant with great sushi as we made two trips here. The pool was huge with several waterfalls and I spent most of my time at the pool bar LOL! This experience was great by far and we already said that this resort was the best we ever stayed in.

Yelp
First and foremost, the hotel's greatest asset is the employees. Everyone we encountered was friendly and very personable and provided exceptional service. In advance of stay, I reached out to the concierge via email to make some requests for the occasion. All requests were responded to promptly. We booked direct through the property and as a result eligible for private transportation from and to the airport. We had made a request for a specific tower, room, but could not be guaranteed prior to arrival. If booking an Imperial Suite, they are all located on the 3rd floor. Imperial also includes the Privilege Package, more on that later. The property is huge and takes some time to get your bearings. The grounds are meticulously maintained. Everything is touchless, meaning one must go on-line to access the app, menu's, maps, activities etc. While this is good in theory, the internet/Wi-Fi was not the greatest, and several times we could not pull up menus. Despite going with this model of touchless contact/using your phone, they still provide a wine menu, so a little contradictory. Suite: We were very happy that we chose building 4. The location couldn't have been better. There is only 1 Imperial Suite in the tower on the 3rd floor. It was in close proximity to the main lobby, restaurants and bars, close to the pools. The suite was very big. When you entered there was a large entry way with windows that looked out to the sprawling deck. While the furniture was a little dated and starting to show some wear and tear, we were more than happy with the room, the space and privacy it afforded us. The mini fridge is replenished daily, and you could also make requests of what you wanted stocked. With the Privilege package, you also pre-select 4 bottles of premium alcohol for your room. Beach: We love the ocean and the beach. The privilege package allows you to have a reserved Bali bed on the beach (basically a covered day bed/lounger), that includes 2 sun loungers each day. They were spaced out and provided privacy. You don't have to bring your towels to the beach each day. When you arrive, your bed will be set up. There is a beach bar and staff walk the beach to take your drink orders. The beach directly in front of the beds is very rocky and not swimmable. If you walk a little further down, you can swim, but it is still rocky. Some light beach shoes make it easy to get through the rocky edge area. Entertainment: Nightly entertainment was excellent. Everyone had a good time dancing to the Imperial band and DJ. There's all day entertainment and activities managed by the Go Team including pool cycling, pool aerobics, mechanical bull riding, dance competitions, etc. The daily activities are shown on the TV in your room or on the app. Food: The food didn't quite meet our expectations. Service staff appeared to be spread thin throughout. We experienced several issues with meat, not cooked as requested. We had 6 steaks between the 2 of us at L'Alsace that were served raw and cold in the center. While there were some disappointments, there were a few highlights worth noting: Fish Tempura @ Ginger - Amazing; Grilled Chicken, shellfish soup, and breakfast (huevos rancheros) at Mar y Tierra; Shrimp burger and ceviche @ Golden pool. BBQ at main pool- Burgers, tacos. Don't forget about your complimentary daily lobster if you're Privilege. It's easy to forget. Bars: There are no shortage of bars throughout. Favorite bar - Martini Bar in the main lobby. Quite relaxing place to unwind. The best Negroni by far. We would start here every night before dinner, and usually end here too. Since it's located directly beside the Privilege lounge, you can ask for top shelf and they would make it for you. Spa: We had mani/pedis, both enjoyed the services and thought the price point was very reasonable. Very clean facility and excellent friendly staff. Romance Package: Private 7 course dinner to include bottle of red or white wine. We brought our own champagne, no cork fee. Table set with rose peddles. For an extra charge, we had a birthday cake custom made. Very enjoyable and memorable. When we returned to our room, rose peddles lined the entry way to the bedroom, bed covered in rose peddles, hot tub filled with hot water with a heart of rose peddles floating on top, bottle of sparkling wine. What a way to celebrate! Room Service: Very impressed that you could also order 24 hours a day, with a variety of offerings to choose from. We ordered breakfast the night prior and it was delivered hot and fresh at the promptly requested time. We also ordered lunch and light snacks. Our personal favorite was the shellfish soup. I Don't hesitate to stay at this resort. We understand why many return year after year. It's hard to find this type of quality and service elsewhere. Thank you, Valentin, for a memorable vacation. We look forward to staying again.

Yelp
From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in luxury and tranquility. The resort's impeccable attention to detail and personalized service surpassed our expectations. The breathtaking views from our room were only matched by the exceptional amenities and activities offered. Whether indulging in world-class cuisine at the onsite restaurants, every moment was a delight. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was unforgettable, catering to our every need with genuine warmth and professionalism. We left feeling rejuvenated, pampered, and already planning our return. A truly exquisite retreat that exceeds all expectations. Highly recommend to anyone seeking a slice of paradise."

Yelp
We planned this trip for my 50th Birthday along with our kids in their twenties! We had such an amazing time. The pools are beautiful. The resort is large and there are plenty of daily activities to choose from. Kevin our cart driver always took care of us! The food was good - the jungle atmosphere is amazing!

Yelp
I was excited for our trip here but was utterly disappointed. There were so many rules and stipulations for an all inclusive. Lots of events were canceled due to light rain and the entertainment at night was minimal. Drinks were mediocre at best. It was nice but not worth the money

Yelp
What a beautiful resort! The ambiance, staff, food, drinks, literally everything was amazing. This will forever be the resort we book when visiting Cancun. Must try: espresso martini at the martini bar, bike riding tour around facility, taco truck at pool, water aerobics, swing at beach bar, catch a show, watch the band, champagne with cherries!

Yelp
It is quite difficult to express how amazing this place truly is. We have now visited twice and it was truly incredible. First off, all of the staff that we encountered are so friendly and kind. They go above and beyond to make sure that you have an extraordinary visit. The grounds of the entire resort are absolutely beautiful- they are beautifully landscaped. The food is truly delicious, so many options that no matter what your preferences are you will be able to find something you enjoy. My favorite restaurant for dinner was the French restaurant- the sea bass melts in your mouth like butter and all of the desserts are fantastic. For lunch we switched between eating at Mar y Tierra (the restaurant closest to the beach) and the pool food truck. My favorites from the food truck was chicken tostadas and chicken nachos. The coffee shop, Cafe Sisal, has a variety of drinks, gelato, small sandwiches, and desserts. We purchased the Privé package this time and it was well worth it for us because we enjoyed having a reserved Bali bed on the beach and being able to make dinner reservations. For us, this trip was worth every penny and we had a fantastic time.

Yelp
It's a little pricey, but so well worth it! We've been 3 times since covid began and I cannot imagine what this place is like when in full swing! Most of the guests are multiple repeat guests, and da' Juicys KNOW WHY! The food is great, the location and property is fantastic, but it's the people who make it GRAND! I love the swim-up suite, yes they have bars like that too, but my room walk into the pool and lazy river. They are truly ALL INCLUSIVE. They are extremely generous with any food or drink you desire. It's the bomb!

Yelp
While it's a beautiful resort, it is so big it's inaccessible. The resort is surrounded by jungle which means there are plenty of bugs (mosquitos), iguanas, coatis, and birds. Lots and lots of birds. Birds are in the restaurants, next to the pools, on your stuff, EVERYWHERE. There are no measures being taken to prevent birds from entering restaurants which means meals are being interrupted by their appearance. There are no umbrellas for the pool, just reserved cabanas and few tiki huts. They are very controlling on beach towels and you are only allowed one towel...which would be fine until it rains and everything is soaked, since there are no umbrellas. As for the service, everyone is very nice but they are so short staffed everyone seems very overwhelmed and you may not see a server for a while. The restaurants were nice overall, but they close 1 restaurant each night and it's different every week. Twice we tried to go to a restaurant and it was closed (4 days apart). The rooms were nice and spacious and kept very clean. It was a long trek to the ocean since the resort is so spread out so it's not easily accessible. If you're wanting a private resort and don't mind bugs or birds or lack of shade or having to hike to get to everything, then this is the resort for you.

Yelp
We just returned from our honeymoon here. I must say that that staff/bartenders and food were truly exceptional. We love the Secrets chain but as our trip went on I felt like I was falling in love with Valentin. I think the food quality at Le Marche (buffet) and the italian restaurant were truly extraordinary. A massive pool for partying/watch senior citizens Zumba to Cardi B and a quiet long lazy pool for relaxing/reading a book/listening to Fever Ray Valentin has both settings covered. At first I was annoyed that the gym was closed due to Covid but I ended up just doing hella pull ups every under the bridges to offset all these bomb meals. Our usual meal schedule was a room service breakfast (takes about an hour) the taco truck and then a nice dinner during the evening. Again the Italian was pretty perfect. We spent about two and 1/2 days at the resort with one half day touring a cenote south of us. Highly recommend checking that out. Our concierge was brilliant striking up our covid test the day before we left. Fast friendlyand got the results very quickly. I was sad to leave but happy to experience this place. I can see why so many return here so often, it's truly relaxing and beautiful. The average age is 40-55 in case you were wondering, a bit older than what we usually experience but we had a blast with everyone. A couple tips, make sure you ask for caffeine in your nespresso cups and as well as your room service coffee, we had some sluggish mornings due this is mix up. Oh yea, the seafood restaurant was our first lunch here and really nice. Make sure you visit them for ceviche, salad and aguachile. Good stuff. One frustrating thing. It's close to impossible to reserve teppanyaki dinners here. They fill up in 5 minutes. That was massive disappointment. If you are paying extra for "privilege" you can book in advance. Well, onto the next resort next year but this one will definitely be recommended to friends and family. Enjoy your stay and love to the staff for busting their tail to accommodate all the guests.

Yelp
We just returned from our 2nd trip here and we are planning our next trip here for October ! Our flights were flawless on Southwest Airlines. When we landed in Cancun we needed to get our luggage and proceed outside to locate our Amstar Transportation, these are the folks with blue, flowered shirts. They are very easy to locate and we have them our names and document, they loaded our luggage and got in the van. Very nice driver and funny ! Both our trips to and from the airport were perfect ! Highly recommend Amstar ! We arrived at VIM and were cheerfully greeted by the luggage porter, Welcome Home ! He gave us our luggage claim tickets and escorted us to the main reception area to get checked in. The entrance to VIM is beautiful and the resort sits far back from the main road and is amazingly landscaped ... primly the best we seen here ! Security at the gate is on the money ! The staff quickly offered us drinks and finger foods and we waited about 5 minutes and we got checked in .... the reception area smells so good !!!!! Not sure of the scent they use but it's incredible ...... This is a great time to snap a few pics of the organ pipes ! And of this grand area ! We got our room assignment and got shuttled over with our luggage, we were in Building 1 which is a great location to the pool and restaurants and main building. We been getting the King Silver Junior Suite and love the amenities it offers, it was well appointed and every morning it was cleaned and stocked and our nightly turn down service was perfect ! If we wanted extra bottles of water or extra soda we just left a note and they left us what we requested. Not sure if this being our 2nd time here, we were left a few very nice surprises of a bottle of champagne and plates of varied chocolate. Very nice indeed to not be expecting that ..... The cleaning staff was exceptional and excellent ! Every morning we called in for room service, pot of coffee, juice, basket of fresh pastries .... need that morning coffee while sitting out on the balcony watching the birds .... This trip we did not get any regular food delivered but last time we did and it was awesome ! Room service was perfect ! The staff that brings the coffee and food are so very kind and friendly ... So much to write but we will keep it short !! The buildings and grounds are kept pristine, great job to the grounds crew ! They have many different restaurants with such a vast array of food options. We try different ones and love the breakfast and lunch buffets. So much to select from and those areas are so very clean and the staff are very attentive to your needs and desires ! Remember gentleman, bring collared shirts to wear at dinner .... We love all the places here for dining ! Again, the staff is very professional and attentive ! We experienced 1 minor hiccup in service at The Steak/Seafood Restaurant next to the beach. Seemed the staff was a little short handed but it did not impair our dining ... They still did great ! The pool area is such a blast !! The swim up bars are perfect and the staff are very quick on getting you drinks ..... TIP: Bring your own Yeti and they will pour you tall killer drinks and since these are insulated, it will stay cold for longer. Everyday they have tons of activities and the red shirt pool staff are awesome and entertaining! Absolutely Love the Pool Area !!! So much fun !!! Also the servers walking around getting you drinks are fast and friendly and attentive.... My wife won one of the bingo games and I took 1st place in the rifle shooting tournament and we both got cool gifts We just enjoy floating around and talking to people with drinks in hand .... They do have food at poolside for lunch and the lunch buffet is within 2 minutes of the pool area. Highly recommend that for lunch to get out of the sun ! We met some nice folks from Nebraska and Pittsburgh, I always wear my Steeler Hat and you find fans all over the place which is cool ! TIP: Take your pool towels and a book or magazine down to the pool area and find your perfect spot .. Nobody will mess with anything but the lounge areas fill fast ! Every night they have different entertainment and a whole array of different types of bars to get drinks from and you can get whatever you want. This trip we seen the burlesque show which was very cool and various entertainment in the center area. In closing we cannot speak highly enough of the staff, the grounds and everything we experienced on our 2nd vacation here, everyone was extremely professional, friendly, and very accommodating to any of our needs ! They truly treat you like family !! We highly recommend this resort I doubt you're gonna find a better place in the area to enjoy and we look forward to many many more great and fun vacations there.. See you in October

Yelp
VIM is the THE REAL DEAL, y'all. Look no further for your next all inclusive visit to Cancun/Rivera Maya. Start to finish our experience was TOP NOTCH. Only a 30 minute drive from the airport and your dropped off into heaven. This place gave my wife and I the most relaxation that we haven't had in a long time. Service is impeccable and I'll name a few of my closest friends who made our experience spectacular: -Jose at the front desk. Very charming and funny! We're greater with a fresh cold towel to get that NYC airport skunk off our fingers. -Jared at the cabana desk. THE BEST. SO kind and always checked in with us. Had our towels ready to lay as soon as we walked onto the beach. -Antonio our server at the beach. Again, THE BEST. Was always around and gave the best drink recommendations. Friendly is in understatement for this guy. Give him all the raises. GET THE PRIVILEGE PACKAGE. It's better than spending your money of your mortgage. Seriously. Perks we got listed below: -Private cabana with private server ERR day! -Ability to make reservations at ANY restaurant -4 bottles of hand picked liquor waiting in your room along with freshly dipped chocolate fruit. -Entrance to the privilege lounge that gives you access to all the top self liquor at the tips of your fingers and freshly made finger foods, deserts, and snacks. In all honesty, the above extras were great, BUT the best, and the most bang for your buck in the package is he private cabana. Not having to wake up and the crack of dawn to snag a chair, and enjoy breakfast is worth ALL the money this world has to offer. The pool was neat. If you're ready to drink your face off/get a wicked tan, this is your spot. We spent a few hours our first day there and did just the above. For the remainder of the week, we did a dip and got back to Antonio. Also, the daily lunch options at the pool are killer. Something different everyday. The pork tacos and paella were our favorites. Perfect way to soak up all that alcohol and sun. Dining was top notch too. Every restaurant has its own perk. Our favorite was the Asian restaurant Ginger. Hibachi was outstanding and the sushi was great! We also LOVED the Italian restaurant. Not too many people put this in their top 3, but we def do. Fresh pasta, pizza, and bread made the perfect meal to end our experience at VIM. Lastly, I must add again that the service was impeccable. I haven't been to many all exclusive joints, but I can't imagine it's this good anywhere else. We'll be planning our trip with another couple in the coming year. Thank you VIM staff for making our trip to Mexico one to never forget.

Yelp
Vacationed at this resort with my hubby. The staff was EXTREMELY friendly and professional. The resort is AMAZING with NO KIDS! Which was a big deal for me. It is adults only resort which I LOVED! The ambiance is AMAZING and the food is to die for !! I am a vegetarian and they had TONS of options at every single restaurant on this resort which is literally amazing because usually I only find like one or two options. But this resort definitely caters to the vegetarians for sure ! I am already planning to come back and stay here. It was literally a dream !!

Yelp
I loved my stay at Valentin Imperial. Everyone was so friendly especially Rosario from building four, Gonzalo and Diego from the bar in the plaza area, and Jeremy who worked by the pool with activities! I had so much fun no matter where I was at. If you're stuck between choosing resorts I would definitely say to choose this one! The food at each restaurant was delicious and they hqd many vegetarian options and were willing to accommodate any meal. I would reccommend Mar y Tierra and La Hacienda, but you can't go wrong with whatever you choose!

Yelp
My sister and cuz Kendra joined us in Mexico. This resort was stunning, star 5 service. All the restaurants were good but our favorite was the Japanese restaurant and Indonesia restaurant. We had a great time and I can't wait to visit Mexico again. You must do the tequila tasting and the beautiful sterling jewelry and diamonds. The jewelry store manager gave some great deals. We all purchase one ring. Please choose Valentin Imperial Resort. If yo

Yelp
This is hands down the best resort I have ever stayed at! I went there for my sisters wedding on January 3rd and they did such an amazing job with setting up the ceremony and reception! The food there was amazing!!!! Every restaurant we tried was delicious but ny favorite place for dinner qas French and Italian. My parents loved ginger. The pools were beautiful the rooms a great size and super clean. The main reason for this place being as amazing as it was would be because of the staff! Every single person I encounter was genuinely friendly and happy to assist with anything we needed. The servers and hostest at every place we went to were hands down tye best! They would all go out of their way to say hi the next time we came in and ask about how our trip were going! And the bartenders in the plaza were my favorite! I cannot wait to come visit again and 100% recommend this place to anyone thinking about going, even during covid times this place was amazing and took tge proper precautions to keep us safe. The price may be up there but you get what you pay for and this place delivers.

Yelp
This was our third time vacationing at the Valentin and it was amazing, as always! The level of service was excellent and the resort is beautiful and well-maintained! Service standouts include: Rodrigo - our building concierge. He was so helpful in making all our dinner and spa reservations! He always had a smile for us and after meeting us once, recognized us for the rest of the trip! Ricardo - our pool consierge. Always making sure we had what we needed, and checking on us throughout the day! We enjoyed couple's massages both on the beach and in the spa. Marilu and Lucy were wonderful and made sure we enjoyed both experiences! We can't wait to go back!

Yelp
one of the best resorts we have ever stayed at including the 9 sandals properties we've been too. the staff, courteous and friendly, the grounds were beautifully manicured and well maintained, the food quality and presentations all outstanding. highly recommend this great resort Carl Montesano

Yelp
Overall service 0/10. I have never been told "no" more in my life than the 5 days we spent at Valentin. By the end of the trip it felt like I was on a prank show and someone was going to pop out and say they had been messing with me. Our party was literally joking about a fictional rule book the whole time because it felt like everywhere we went there was someone trying to tell us we couldn't do what we wanted to do. I will say the staff at the main pool bar was good and kind of saved the day overall. In addition to the sub-par service, they also cancelled several events and entertainment while we were there due to the weather (sun showers, no big deal...). Point being, you would think an all inclusive resort would come up with MORE things to do when it rains, not LESS.

Yelp
Great resort in Riviera Maya! I enjoyed our five nights at the Valentin. I have a few comments on my pros and cons to the resort. As always, let's start with the pros: Clean all around. Rooms were clean. The grounds are kept near spotless, and the restaurants and bars are very tidy and always look nice. Best resort food. From the buffers to the restaurants, the food was great. There is not a buffet at dinner but instead 7 restaurants that you can enjoy at your leisure. No need to make reservations unless you are doing the hibachi at the Asian restaurant. My favorite was the Italian restaurant. I suggest getting the veggie risotto as an appetizer. It was amazing. I had the spinach cheese ravioli one night and the filet medallions the next. Both delicious. The lunch buffet by the beach is great as well. The food is well prepared and good quality. Best air conditioning and humidity control. The rooms were very updated and the air conditioning was awesome. I don't always find that at other resorts. The staff is above average. We had very nice experiences with the staff at the restaurants and throughout the resort. Our favorite waiter was Mario in the Italian restaurant. He had such a good sense of humor and he worked so hard to make sure we had a wonderful experience. Our favorite bartender was Victor. We met him at the Indonesian restaurant, his drinks were awesome and his company was very fun. We enjoyed talking with him. The beach was kept very clean. The wait staff worked their tail off to being out drinks and also to keep the area clean. There was no empty glass that sat for longer than a minute or two. These are just some noted items. There was plenty of other stuff we enjoyed. The cons: The non air conditioned restaurant were extremely hot. I would say borderline uncomfortable. I don't remember this being as much of a problem at other resorts. The pool water was terribly warm. It was more like a large hot tub. The pool area is very pretty but there is no breeze coming in off the ocean so it is very hot. We found it difficult to spend much time there and kept going to the beach to enjoy the nice ocean breeze and there were a lot of huts to sit under if you needed shade We experienced a few issues with our room. We had our entry door break. They did response within the hour to fix it. We also came back one morning from breakfast to find people in our room. We're weren't given an explanation as they left. My husband worked with the guest services to figure it out. We also had a knock on our door around 11:30pm and it was a worker who thought our toilet was broken. It was the wrong room. In all fairness, we may have just had bad luck, the couple we traveled with had no issues. All in all, it was a great trip and I would happily return to the resort to suggest it to a friend!!

Yelp
Exceptional resort, absolutely love this place. Been there a couple of times and loom forward to going back.

Yelp
Absolutely not on negative thing to say about this place. It was literally heaven on earth. I've been to Live Aqua but VIM takes the cake. From the food to the drinks and the service everything was top notch. It is no wonder why met soo many people that were frequent returners. While I was there I was already looking for packages to come back! But when I do, I hope our favorite person,Ivan From Mar Y Tierra is still there!!

Yelp
This is the best resort in Mexico. The service, the ground's everything is first class.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I booked this trip for our two year dating anniversary and to celebrate a new job. Upon arrival, we were greeted, given champagne, and brought to our room with a bell hop. The entire experience was excellent! From the service, to the food, to the shows at night, and even the staff. There was so much to do (and eat/drink) there was no need to leave the resort at all. Friday magic show Saturday Latin show Sunday Funday included a foam party! Monday was Mexican themed with a mechanical bull at the pool! Just to include a few. Beach cabanas were first come first served unless you were "privilege" guests. I highly recommend getting there early to get a cabana, the sun gets hot!! Massages are a must-booking directly through the resort allowed us a $200 credit at the spa. And round trip private transportation from the airport. Only a very few cons: smoking was allowed throughout the resort (except in some areas), we weren't offered dessert at hibachi when other tables were, our scheduled bell hop and ride on checkout didn't arrive. Also this resort was adult only, mostly couples, average age 35-45 with some younger honeymooners mixed in. I would go back 100%.

Yelp
This was our first trip here. Overall we were very pleased with our stay. Pros: Immaculate landscaping Everything from pools, restaurants and room are super clean Friendly staff -they remember your name Lots of entertainment -live music, dancing Lots of activities: cooking/Spanish lessons/dance classes/scuba/yoga/Zumba Overall hospitality Rooms in general are nice 24 hour rooms service included Lots of restaurant choices inc Italian, French (get the baked Alaska), Japanese Free wifi Bar swing at beach are cool Only 21+ allowed at this resort (4 free "adult" channels on tv) also a con Cons: The place is HUGE. So lots of walking (didn't bother us a whole lot but you will walk tons) Dress code for night restaurants. My hubs hated to wear pants, close toed shoes and collared shirt every night. Got old. Also you get pretty and have to walk a good ways to your restaurant so you are all sweaty! (4 free "adult channels in tv) also a pro Tips: *Don't stay in the jr silver suite. Cute room. Separate jacuzzi and very comfy room with a full mini bar. Our biggest con was the toilet room did not have a regular door but a glass door so you can see your friend/partner doing their dirty business (no vents either). It was a bit strange not to have that privacy. So definitely get an upgrade. *Do not upgrade to the Privilege Package. We decided to splurge. It is about $50 a day per person. 3 day minimum. Perks: private cabana on beach or pool side daily. 4 bottles of your choice of a selection of alcohol. We picked Grey Goose vodka, Don Julio tequila and a rum and whiskey. Because the place is all inclusive with drinks flowing freely, there is no way to finish these unless you want liver disease. We gave away half a bottle of vodka and took 3 unopened bottles home. Biggest perk: lobster IS included at every restaurant. You can also reserve restaurant times so no waiting!! When you present your reservation card they definitely treat you nicely. I think in the end you pay for what you get but my advice is save your $ and use it at the spa or on an excursion. Oh they have this special Privilege room where you can hang in the ac but no one is ever there. *We brought $100 in ones for tips (didn't use them all but we were prepared) *Reserve a Hibachi table early! Fun. *A daily itinerary of hotel activities, specials for spas, and anything going on is given. *Food portions are small but you enjoy every bite and every course including dessert. Overall I loved this place. I think ideally a smaller resort is best for me. We really didn't need all the choices. We stayed 5 days which was plenty. Most guests never leave the resort. I feel like you are in an exotic city with ruins, cenotes, and tons of adventure. If you want to be on a beach all day you can stay in the USA and go to Florida. Take advantage of all México has to offer and throw in a fun excursion! We even took a shopping trip to the city and get was fun too.

Yelp
Let me start by saying our stay was initially pleasant. We did a lot of the extra compliments including a floral bouquet, the spa experience and the romantic dinner. We came here to enjoy ourselves and spend the money necessary to do so. However, our happiness quickly turned into anger by the end of our stay. First and foremost, how can you proudly put Irvin Moreno in such a position of power within customer service? Rather than trying to work with us Irvin was rude, uncompromising, trying to speak over me constantly, and on a power trip. He sat there and told us the $178 was so small, we should just pay it and to dispute it with our credit card. It was not the amount that bothered us, it was the principal of the circumstances. The Valentin prides itself on premium customer service and is a 5 star resort- perhaps Irvin should act like it. Other employees- Jose and Rodrigo at reception, Omar from our romantic dinner, etc. deserve praise. However, if your leadership is that nasty, that ruins it all. Your spa services are a scam. One of the MAIN reasons we chose the Valentin was that we want to have a spa day and they offered a $200 spa credit. Our spa package cost $178 after the credit, not including tip. At this price point we knew the service had to be good- we live in a large US city and massages are not this expensive. We arrived at 3:18 pm for a 3:30 pm massage. Our masseuses took us to a room only to tell us it was the wrong one. They then took us back through the lobby- naked and covered only by a robe in the daylight. This new room was nowhere near the quality of the previous room- it was extremely bright bc of glass windows and cluttered. Given that we were paying a premium for this spa, we asked to be moved to the other room. The receptionist tried to say it was the same room and to close our eyes. She also told us she could not accommodate us and that our massage time was cut because it was 3:45 pm, so we would not be able to have a full massage. This was not our fault. When we asked to cancel the massage due to this issue, she said she would have to charge us for the massage we did not receive. We then spoke with Rodrigo from concierge, who kindly understood the rooms were different and was able to reschedule our massage for 6 pm. We asked for the Valentin massage, which is supposed to include FOUR types of massages from light to deep tissue. This service was NOT a massage. This was somebody rubbing oil on our bodies for 75 minutes. We did not receive even 1 out of the 4 types of massages promised. This was like ordering a steak at a resting and receiving Mcdonald's. The masseuses were simply not trained. We once again found ourselves at concierge. If you do the math, including the $200 credit and the $178 charge- the massages was valued at $378. This is an INSANE charge for us to just be treated rudely by reception and then not even receive a massage. We were THREATENED at reception when we explained our circumstance and how we should not pay FOR A SERVICE WE DID NOT RECEIVE. One woman with red glasses told us she would "withhold our passports." I asked why should pay for something that is still being investigated? Why should we pay ahead for something that needs to be looked into? After more arguing and me asking for her manager, she finally said she would escalate our issue to her manager for "investigation." This issue was not investigated. In the morning concierge told us the manager was not in, despite telling us that they would contact their management to get this sorted before we left. I asked why they could not call the manager and all of a sudden Irvin appeared. This made me question whether he was there the whole time and simply just wanted us to leave. Regardless, Irvin sat down and asked what we needed with an attitude already in his tone. We were told there would be no time for an investigation, and we must pay despite lack of service or we would be held hostage. We have left the Valentin with a disgusting taste in our mouths and do not recommend it to anyone.

Yelp
This was easily the nicest all-inclusive resort I've been to. Beautiful beach and water. The pools were very nice too. The service was perfect and all of the employees were happy to be back at work and they all wore masks and visors, which had to suck in that heat.

Yelp
We absolutely loved this place. We were greeted as we got out of car, taken to the lobby to check in and then got a golf cart ride to our room. The resort is huge, but not an overwhelming huge. There are maps posted around and they also provide maps to keep on you. After a day or so you'll have the place down pat. The entire staff was friendly, very upbeat, and happy. Most of our days consisted of beach, breakfast, beach, lunch, pool then dinner and shows. Such a relaxing time. I would recommend getting to the beach early and grabbing a cabana. We never had bad food. We went to the Italian, hibachi, Mexican, steakhouse and Indian. I would 100% visit again. This place is paradise.

Yelp
Loved his place. I'm not a big fan of all-inclusive resorts but this place is so big I didn't really feel trapped. I was there for five nights and probably tried all restaurants, none of them blew my mind. Maybe the French was the best one there , but not the best food I've ever had. The thing with all inclusive restaurants is that they have no rush to turn tables so the service is slow. I've experienced slow service at ALL of them. They are however, extremely courteous and smiley and nice. Everywhere and everyone smiles and is soooo nice. I love Mexicans. Pools are immaculate, daily (lots of them!) activities are fun and plenty, suites and all facilities are impeccable. I mean impeccable! They had some awesome shows at night including a straight-from-Jamaica reggae band, great djs, great entertainment overall. You won't be bored and you won't want to leave. I went diving and enjoyed the beach on alternate days but honestly wouldn't have mind just staying there being pampered. No kids, (I love kids but it was great not hearing them cry) which is a great thing. They also have amazing courtesy suites where you can shower and change (and eat and use all the amenities) in case you arrive before your check in time, which was pretty nice. I certainly recommend this resort but two things were missing: conditioner in the rooms. After five days washing my hair just with shampoo it looked like I had a room over my head. Great quality toiletries, body wash, soaps, etc... but no conditioner!! Come on! :) Also, the towels. For the top quality of this place, the towels were worn out and rough. Like, sand paper rough. It just didn't match the finesse of the place. Just a thought... :)

Yelp
Some background: I've been to Mexico 2 times before Valentin Imperial (Playa Del Carmen) and stayed at Riu Palace Las Americas (Cancun) and Krystal Grand (Los Cabos). This is by far the best all-inclusive resort I've been to so far and I highly recommend it. I will also give my general review of the resort and then give some small annoyances at the end to help. Location: Valentin Imperial is located about 35 minutes away from the Cancun (CUN) airport. As such, when going towards Playa Del Carmen, you are usually the first to be dropped off. We also went on excursions and noticed that we were the last hotel to be picked up and the first to be dropped off after the excursions which is also a HUGE benefit (waking up later, getting back earlier). The location is amazing because you do not have to sit in a shuttle circling other resorts to go to the airport or on excursions. What a huge time saver and you can wake up a lot later and pick up breakfast. Resort: This resort is very gorgeous and also really well planned out. The resort sort of has this "jungle" feel to it as you can see friendly wildlife as you walk around the grounds (coati, iguanas, lots of birds). The people there are constantly cleaning the resort and I always felt it was extremely tidy and clean. Well done! I also appreciate how many directions/maps were put around the resort so you never felt lost. Beach: The beach at this resort is huge and the waters have this lovely aqua tint to it. A lot of reviews mentioned upgrading to the "Exclusive Package" to get reserved beach seats but I found this unnecessary. They also have a ton of "first come first serve" covered seats around and was able to find a good amount open even at 9am. No need to wake up at 7am to "claim" your seat like other reviews. Other than that, we had a fun time at the beach as the sand was soft and the swim-able area that they mark up was very safe and had no issues in the water. Food: I think this is by far the highlight of the trip. The food at Valentin Imperial is insanely good. I gained 5 lbs while I was there for 5 days due to how much I ate. Breakfast/Lunch are buffets while Dinner is restaurants. 1.) Breakfast - They have tons of juices to choose from, an omelette bar, all types of bread, fruit, etc. Really enjoyed this. They are open from 7am to 11am which is a generous range. 2.) Lunch - Also had a protein/seafood person to cook up your food as well as a pasta bar. Tons of other food available as well. 3.) Dinner - 6 restaurants to choose from and all of them were really good. I highly suggest the Mar and Tierra restaurant for perfectly cooked steaks and the French Restaurant for just an overall beautiful restaurant and menu. Service: When you arrive they will constantly say "Welcome Home" as they want you to feel like this is the best place to be. Honestly the service I thought was generally really good and I did feel welcome by most of the staff. However, I remember one incident during breakfast where the server yelled at me since I ordered coffee but wanted milk later on. He was annoyed and reminded me that I only ordered coffee and disappeared. He eventually came back with the milk but he did not look happy. Entertainment: The resort gives you a daily agenda on what is happening around the resort. It's also posted inside your buildings and in various other billboards/places so you know what is going on. I feel like there is always something to do (volleyball, aqua sports, yoga, etc.) and really appreciate the effort in making their resort fun. At night time, there is also usually performances/entertainment such as a magic show. Some things I noticed that I think are important and help influence your decision. 1.) Room - The room is actually pretty spacious and I enjoyed it. However our Silver Suite room had a tub separating the bedroom/bathroom and I thought it took up way too much room. Don't know how useful that is. Also there isn't really any privacy as they use a curtain to separate the tub/bathroom so if you are going with a friend, it can get awkward. Our room also had a nice rain shower head but the water kept changing from hot and cold which was a bit annoying. 2.) Gym - The gym at the resort is crazy small. 3 treadmills (one was broken when we went), 3-4 Bike Machines, a couple of weight machines, and 2 benches for dumbbells which are outside. If you like working out, you will be disappointed by the gym. 3.) Dinner - They have a pretty strict dress policy here for men during dinner to keep the night time elegant so please read up on the dress policy before you go. In order to keep out of trouble, I always wore long-sleeve collared shirts, slacks, and nice dress shoes. This could be extremely hot if you go in the summer but in December it felt okay. 4.) Mosquitoes - There are mosquitoes here and I got stung quite a couple of times. The resort does offer bug spray at multiple locations for people to use.
