Valentines Resort & Marina

Great location and very high end rooms. Well maintained with top end finishes and furniture. Location is excellent and there is a private beach that takes 5 minutes to get to via golf cart. Some of the bar and restaurant staff is inconsistent but we found that to be the case almost everywhere on the island. Find a good server and bartender and stick with him/her. Food is on par with the competition. Great coffee and smoothies for your morning wake up. Recommend looking around for golf cart rentals, not the carts they offer you via the front desk.

Extremely unhappy with my stay here for the value of what I paid for. The food was terrible and the service took extremely long. Everything I wanted to order on the menu the waiter told me they did not have which was extremely disappointing. Only giving this review 2 stars because of Kia who was a sweetie at the bar. The rooms were okay and the thermostat was locked so you couldn’t put the AC lower than 72 degrees meanwhile it’s 90 degrees outside. Housekeeping never once cleaned my room when I called the concierge early in the morning and I get back in the afternoon and it was not cleaned which was frustrating. On top of it all when I was checking out, they wanted to charge me $650 for transportation from the ferry dock to the marina when this costs between $10-$50 per person. Thank God I looked at what I was being charged and was able to get it down to $140 which is still a huge rip off. I don’t recommend staying at this hotel at all: food is horrible, service is not good, and the rooms are subpar.

Valentines Marina is one of the best places on Harbour Island to get food and drinks! Awesome location on the water and the staff is amazing. Adamma is the BEST!

Valentines is a long standing favorite for so many. It never fails you. The location is unreal. The fishing, food, service, music and strangers that become friends is why we have been coming back here for over 20 years. It has grown a lot over the years. Thank you Valentines for so many wonderful memories.

I WANTED to love this place. It is beautiful, it is clean and rooms are very nice HOWEVER some of the staff are not friendly at all. Actually let me be more specific, the bar/restaurant and coffee staff (All front desk, room service, dock and dive staff were nice). There is one restaurant and one coffee shop on the premises- both with staff that will leave you thinking they hate you and their job. I always make sure to be very respectful and kind when vacationing in another country because I do value the cultural experience and all of the people that make it happen. That being said, I have never felt so uncomfortable in a customer service situation. The bartender would not make eye contact or acknowledge that I was speaking. She eventually did what I asked but I was unaware she even heard me because there was absolutely no response. As if my existence annoyed her. Same experience at the coffee shop. It was bizarre to say the least. By the end of our trip, we went out of our way to avoid both the restaurant and coffee shop because it was so weird. And we love our bars and coffee, so it was a struggle. We would not come back to stay at valentines based on this experience. We absolutely loved the rest of the island, tons of wonderful people.

Awesome location off the dock, easier marina for fun boating adventures and can walk to beach. Food is great, service better!

Hard to review this place since while staying here I learned that each room is individually owned and therefore the quality and upkeep may depend on what room you get. The property itself is lovely, the common areas well maintained. The pool is great for kids and families (not for couples looking for quiet or serene). Our one bedroom townhouse was clean, the master bath is luxurious, bed comfy and overall, the room looks like what you see in the hotel pictures. But, the rugs and upholstery were a bummer and really need to be changed out. It doesn't need a complete overhaul - its needs small upgrades and someone to take a look around and care. The kitchen is very poorly equipped with trashy pots and pans. Our stove was completely nonfunctional. I wouldn't stay here again but I wouldn't not recommend it since at average $750/night it's an "affordable" option if you have kids with you. The housekeeping staff is awesome - so kind and friendly and clearly work so hard - but keep in mind in general this is a self-service marina hotel.

Valentines is a very nice resort in Harbour Island. It has a marina and nice restaurant and bar. If you go there ask for Curtis, he is like a super concierge. He will help you find anything you need. He made a big difference on the quality of our stay at Valentines.
