What I Learned About Women’s Sailing From Racing the Mediterranean This Summer | Vogue

"After a grueling 1,200km clockwise circumnavigation of Sicily—including the Aeolian Islands, Egadi, Lampedusa, and Pantelleria—we finally crossed the finish line back here." - Sinéad O’Sullivan

Valletta’s picturesque Grand Harbour is a gem of the Mediterranean! 🌊 Malta’s vibrant capital blends history, culture, and stunning architecture. The port’s azure waters, lined with Baroque buildings and the iconic Fort St. Elmo, create a postcard-perfect scene. Whether you’re a history buff, foodie, or adventurer, Valletta’s charm captivates. A hidden treasure in the heart of Europe. 😊

Moored at Pinto 1 & 2 berth in Valletta. Starboard side alongside. New electrical shore power connection available for ships and in use. Well protectwd berth with good restaurants and bars nearby. Wheelchair friendly. Parking options very limited. Nice view of the city from the pier. Always good to call Valletta.

Very beautiful port! The views of Malta are absolutely beautiful from the cruise ports and the walk to the supermarket is short but you have to ask the locals for specific directions that they are more than happy to help with. The lagoons and islands are a 40 min drive from the ports and it's best to take a taxi or car as the buses take 2 hours each way! Advance bookings for the lagoon boat tours and experiences is highly recommended! Also check the times of the tours as some start at the rush hour when it's impossible to step foot anywhere. Be cautious when booking as confusion can be the reason for your experience to be a total disaster - almost, if not all, the tours and boat experience to the lagoons & islands are in the same place - you can easily end up on the wrong boat! Be sure to have some means of transport here if you want to make most of your time exploring instead of sitting in a bus for hours - drive, hire a car or taxi. There is a huge supermarket in the port when making your way back to the ships. It's a really nice touch and so convenient if you want to do last minute shopping, buy wine and local Maltese food! Clean, friendly staff and a great experience. Definitely recommend to stop and have a look around.

It is a small but very beautiful port, possibly one of the best in the Mediterranean Sea. In less than 5 minutes walking you will be in the city center. I have to highlight that the taxi service is very intrusive, at least 20 taxis tried to offer us their services. Enjoy it very much and remember that in Malta you drive on the left. The latter greatly shocks Europeans.

One a coolest and historical cruise destination in mediterranean. Its a clean port. There will be city sight seen bus services. It’s really worth to walk around in such a historical rich area….

One of the most beautiful ports I’ve been to in my life, entering it was just breath taking. The pilots were really professional and polite. The port itself is near a couple of eateries and everything of interest was within walking distance. I have never seen anything like Valletta and will definitely be returning.
