This motel was VERY clean, the room was cozy, and the bed was very comfortable. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. ||Another thing we really liked about staying here was the food. We were very tired the afternoon we arrived, so we went to the attached lounge and had supper. The lounge was clean and inviting. The food was good and the portions were generous. The next morning, we went to the attached restaurant for coffee and breakfast. Again, the food was delicious and plentiful. *I also noticed a small liquor store attached to the office, which was unusual, but pretty cool. ||There were restaurants nearby, within walking distance. We ate at one when we passed through Palmer a week later, but we were thankful and pleased with the food and service from the restaurant and lounge at the hotel. ||I would have given this a 5 rating instead of a 4, because it deserved a 5. The ONLY reason I didn’t was there weren’t any elevators. The hotel is unique in that the 1st floor is in the basement, which is where we stayed. I tend to over pack, so my luggage was large and heavy. My Dad is 83 and my Mom is 79, so us getting our luggage up and down the stairs was difficult. For folks who stayed on the 2nd floor, they only had to climb a few stairs; of course, we should have asked to be moved to the 2nd floor… I’m sure they would have changed that for us, but we were too tired to change rooms.
