Valley Overlook

My wife and I loved our time at Valley Overlook! We stayed in the Studio Cabin for a weekend in October, and it was perfect! It was a great location to experience the changing seasons and appreciate nature in luxury. The campgrounds are very inviting but still very private. The amenities provided everything we needed, and the hospitality was second to none.

This is THE best place to stay in CVNP. It's a real shame that this isn't listed on the Ohio Erie Canal Towpath map/website as this is the perfect spot to stay if you're exploring the towpath (or the wonderful farm or any of the awesome trails around!) I stayed in one of the cabins and it was clean and very comfortable and cozy. The grounds have tons of amenities and on top of that, the owner is kind, thoughtful and so helpful! 10/10 I will absolutely be back.

Camped here in October 2025 when I was passing though Cuyahoga National Park because the park does not have any campgrounds. I wasn't sure what to expect but was very pleasantly surprised. Beautiful site, not too crowded. Stayed in one of the primitive sites. Picnic table and well maintained firepit with firewood available at a reasonable price nearby. Bumped into the owner or manager on day 2 and unfortunately I don't recall his name but he was very helpful and friendly. If I pass though again will for sure stop here for a night or two.

Great facility, kept clean and very nice, unfortunately ZERO flexibility in the booking/rescheduling process. Terry was very kind and helpful, unfortunately Andrew did not offer the same attention and care. Sad that a place in a great location, that is well taken care of, albeit a bit pricey, is so unwilling to accommodate patrons. Do not book unless you are 100% certain you will be able to attend for the entirety of your trip.

It was my first time going there and it’s absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!! The owner is so nice and so sweet and everything is literally spotless for it being outdoors. They do an amazing job keeping the bathrooms cleaned and I love how those are air conditioned. I stayed in a text with the King size bed and again absolutely stunning and clean! The next best part was for how many people were there it was so quiet and peaceful! I’m definitely going again!!!

We stayed at spot C3, it was one of the most beautiful camp sites I have been to. The tree coverage made it bearable in 90° temps, and was beautiful to look up at from our tent when we woke up. The bathrooms were the cleanest I have ever seen at a campground. One of the owners, Terry, was very kind to us during our stay, and was so friendly to every guest he passed. Would give a 10/10, and definitely planning to return in the fall to rent. Clamping tent. Thank you for a great experience!

Great location in Cuyahoga Valley NP. We only stayed one night as we were passing through the area. We stayed in one of the tents with 2 twin beds, there was no AC but they provided a fan in the tent. The beds were comfortable, however the pillows were very flat. So if you need a good firm pillow to sleep, you should bring your own. There is not bathroom/shower in the tents, however, the bathhouse was very close to the tent sites. They were clean & spacious. They had a larger bathhouse towards the parking lot, which we used as well. It was such a relaxing place to unwind, it is close to some hiking trails, however, we did not go on any of these trails. We stayed on a Thursday night & could hear live music from the music venue up the road

The Valley Overlook is a special project that has re created a beautiful space that was in deep disrepair, the family owners are to be commended for all the effort! That said this is not a family friendly place if you have children and babies in tow. My observation is that it is perfect for couples who are looking for sanctuary and quiet camping. Our family reserved 3 sites, we are multigenerational and have camped at many state and private parks in Ohio, unfortunately this camp site isn't good for young kids who want the freedom to explore or for babies who may cry and get fussy. We didn't understand the limitations from the info on the website, and most importantly did not understand that we could not gather as a family, we were asked to only be present in our individual camp sites. The owners were called numerous times for noise complaints even before the 10pm Quiet time, and the reasons were for crying babies and loud children. We would not have booked this camping area if we knew that we had to keep our kids quiet and not gather for meals and campfires. We understand the rules now, respect that others need a different environment, I post this for information for other families can make informed decisions regarding this space.
