Valley Views Glamping

What a unique experience staying here was. Beautiful location with breathe taking scenery. Loved the finishing touches that were everywhere, from the hot water bottles, to the choices of delicious teas, the walk through from Lucy on how to use everything in our dome. Which is super important when they are 100% off grid. Thank you Amber, Patrick and Lucy for being the most kind, caring hosts one could imagine. Try to get up in the middle of the night to sit outside and look up at the night skies. It’s truly magical.

Frankly, this stay was one of the hi-lights of our South Island tour! Amber and Patrick are the most superb hosts and they clearly know a lot about the hospitality trade and client service. We stayed in the Station Peak dome which was extremely luxurious. The outdoor baths were hot, the water sumptuous and the view overlooking the Waitiki valley was world class. The cooking and dining arrangements are really straightforward and good fun. This is a world class destination and highly recommended for those who want something truly unique and special. Make sure you give yourself enough time to enjoy this. We went on a farm tour up the hill which was fascinating learning about Highland stock farming. Thank you and I hope so much we can come again. We loved our stay. The forced 'detox' from power, wifi, rushing - was a welcome reset. The domes are stunning. We were in the large Station Peak Dome - which was luxurious. Dinner was delicious and we'd definitely recommend this optional extra (extra cost). It would have been a bit strange to be cooking dinner in the shared kitchen while others were eating the catered dinner. I would have liked simple tea/coffee options in the dome also - as it was raining during our stay and the sprint to the kitchen block felt like that would be hard work. We came back home rested and ready for the start of our work year!

Beautiful , quiet and romantic place for a getaway. Super lovely lady to check us in , with a great recommendation on where to eat for dinner as well. Amazing views. The comfiest bed ever! A most magical and inviting stay! We got engaged outside by the baths and I couldn’t have pictured a more beautiful and serene place for this special moment! So relaxing to sit in the hot outdoor baths and listen to the birds chirping admiring the view! A good no phone type of escape! Highly recommended for anyone considering a stay here.

An unforgettable stay during our family road trip. We booked the Station Dome for 1 night and it was perfect for us with our kids. The hosts were so accommodating to us and even set up a baby cot for us. The dinner was 10/10 and you cannot beat the views you experience. The kids loved the hot bath in the evening and thought it was the coolest experience ever. Thank you for the great time and memory! Highly recommended

We stayed in Dome 6 and overall had a mixed experience. First, the positives: the location is absolutely beautiful with a stunning view of the surrounding landscape. Our bed was super comfortable and the breakfast was nice . The entire site is very well maintained and clean. The shared facilities, including the bathrooms and showers, were spotless and clearly well cared for. However, there were a few things that made our stay less comfortable. Our dome did not have an ensuite composting toilet, so we had to walk to the nearby bathroom building during the night. It was close, so this was manageable, but it’s something guests may want to be aware of. The main issue for us was the temperature during the night. It was extremely (!! ) cold despite the provided hot water bottles and blankets. We ended up sleeping in our thermal hiking clothes, which we had actually packed for outdoor activities. Even with that, it was still very cold and honestly close to being unacceptable for a glamping experience. Our dome did not have a stove or heater, while some of the other domes seemed to have one. At breakfast we spoke with other guests who told us they had also been very , very cold during the night — and they even had a stove in their dome. That made it pretty clear how cold it must have been for us without any heat source at all. Had we known this beforehand, we likely would have chosen differently, as we usually expect some kind of heat source when booking glamping accommodation. The welcome was also a bit underwhelming. We were greeted by the owners’ daughter, and the interaction felt rather cool and neutral. This is not a major issue for us, but it stood out because everywhere else in New Zealand we experienced extremely warm and friendly hospitality. EDIT They confirmed that while Dome 6 is normally equipped with a diesel heater, it had been temporarily removed for maintenance to prepare for winter. They did not anticipate the temperatures dropping so significantly this early in the season ( 3°C weather) and offered a partial refund. I think that is fair - I changed my 4 Star review to a 5 Star review

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 – An Unforgettable Stay at Valley Views Glamping! Our stay at Valley Views Glamping was absolutely amazing! The beautiful domes were not only stylish and comfortable but also offered breathtaking views across the valley, waking up to that scenery was something special. The setting is stunning, perfectly peaceful and surrounded by nature, yet with everything you need for a relaxing getaway. We especially loved the outdoor baths, such a unique and magical experience under the stars! There were plenty of games for both kids and adults, which made it a fun and memorable stay for everyone. The hospitality was fantastic, the host went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. The dinner was incredible, delicious, hearty, and beautifully presented, and breakfast was just as good, the perfect way to start the day while soaking in the views. We can’t recommend Valley Views highly enough, it’s the perfect blend of comfort, nature, and genuine Kiwi hospitality. We’ll definitely be back!

This place is phenomenal 😍 Patrick and Amber have put so much love and care into this place, you can truly feel it. The dome is spacious, clean and luxurious, and have a natural, earthy feel. Wonderful views, wonderful hosts and a perfect location to relax in a private outdoor bath. 100% recommend if you are wanting some quality time in nature with a loved one.
