Van der Valk Hotel Brugge - Oostkamp

Excellent hotel, i stay in a lot of hotels because of my work. This one is in the top 5. Very good wifi, very fast. No password, so very easy to use with a Chromecast. Rooms are big and clean. The Bed is excellent, like almost all Van der valk hotels .Shower is great and clean. Extra towels are present ( this is rare in hotel rooms nowadays). Good restaurant. Only downside, it is next to a highway. But inside the room you do not hear this. Very quiet rooms.

Fantastic hotel with loads of amenities. Great food and customer service. The hotel room that I stayed in for 4 nights was ample size, clean and I enjoyed staying there. The lounge can get busy at night time. I would definitely stay again.

Stayed at this hotel several times in the past, one of my favourite hotels, always clean, friendly staff, wonderful decor, spacious rooms, on-site free parking, food is very good and breakfast is one of the best. Highly recommended.

Someone recommended this hotel to me and I wasn’t disappointed. Well, to be honest I was more than happy and I would definitely return in the future. The hotel is conveniently located, very close to motorway, and also close to the town centre. Bruges city is only 10 minutes drive away from the hotel. The room was amazing, very large, beautifully furnished and equipped with all essentials, e.g. mini fridge, coffee machine, kettle, etc. Staff is very polite and helpful. Food, served in the hotel restaurant, is fresh and tasty.

Really helpful staff after something went wrong with the dates of my Expedia booking, they managed to find us an available room. The room was spacious and very clean and modern. Really convenient location with plenty of parking too.

We booked to stay for 3 nights at this hotel with some reservations about how close it was to the motorway and how much noise we would have to cope with. How wrong we were! There is some traffic noise if you are outside the hotel but absolutely none in the bedroom or bar or restaurant. ||Everything about this hotel was a wonderful surprise especially the staff! From the reception management through into the restaurant everyone we encountered smiled and seemed to be happy that we were staying with them. They all went out of their way to be helpful and were incredibly efficient while giving us the impression that they would do anything they could to make our stay even more enjoyable. As a retired couple we have the benefit of travelling a lot in Europe and have holidayed in most of the obvious destinations over the last few years and we have never encountered such a high level of customer service.||When you add this to a fantastic restaurant and wonderful location for visiting Bruges and the Coast it makes for a definite “go back again hotel”. We drove into Bruges on a busy Friday and parked really easily ( thank you again to the charming receptionist who knows everything you need to know) and a short walk to the city centre on a very warm day was a delight.||We have experienced very high prices in Belgium previously and the reasonable costs of our stay and eating in here was another lovely surprise. We will definitely be back!||Ps Van Der Valk hotel chain can learn a lot from this hotel if they want to improve their own reputation and customer relations

What a lovely hotel. We were only there for a 1 night stopover on our way to Austria.||The reception staff were so friendly, the rooms were large and spotlessly clean - all had either patios or balconies.||We ate in the restaurant and the food was great.||I can't fault any aspect of it - highly recommended!

This experience is a hard one to rate. I feel the food was four stars but the service was three stars. So really a 3.5 is the real rating. At this point in early August 2018 this hotel is under construction but no one mentioned that in the reviews on TripAdvisor. {TripAdvisor is more popular here in Eastern Europe than Yelp which I am disappointed by because I feel I can search more specifically on Yelp and Yelp reviews mention early important things like when restaurants are cash only that TA reviews never mention. But to see more reviews you must search TA.} You can see they are trying for a very upscale feel for their new decor at the hotel but it's so incongruous next to the construction rubble. Ok, on with my review: the staff were all in their twenties, some younger and although there seemed to be a lot of them, we still felt ignored. No one greeted us so we had to ask at the bar. After being seated by one person, menus brought by a second person and water delivered by a third person we had no idea who our waiter/waitress was! They didn't seem to know either as no one came to take our order for an uncomfortable amount of time. We flagged down our first staff member and she took our order. After the meal was delivered by a fourth (!) waiter we were never approached again. No questions about needing anything or for more drinks. We finished our meal, each used the facilities and when we were all together again at the table no one had still been approached by staff. The restaurant was about 1/2 to maybe 3/4 full, there was lots of staff, but they would disappear to the point where none could be seen. We ended up wanting to leave to get to another place on time so we asked for our bill at the bar. I kindly and calmly told all of this to the young manager as we left as true constructive criticism which he thanked me for. The ironic part was the food was good! Smallish menu which we prefer but nice round selection of food. I got the risotto, husband got beef filet, son got sole fillettes. It was all four star food. Bread was good, fries came with one of our meals and they were also tasty. A small house salad with bitter greens was also part of the meal. For the $$$ price service should have been as good as the food. Hopefully it improve

Having a blast over here. The rooms are so wonderful and spacious. And I was not expecting so a quality in Belgium to tell the truth.

Absolutely acceptable hotel, close to Brugge city. Modern, spacious rooms, great bathroom, professional service. Big parking lot, gym, bike rental etc.. It's close to the motorway, so be prepared to hear some noise. Also noisy, the aircondition. All in all, good experience here.

We have been in Europe 90 days and in 30 hotels. This is the best. Food is wonderful, breakfast omelets made to order, an incredible buffet bar with high quality breads, fruit, sausages, bacon, and POTATOES........it is one of the few (count 2) places here that we have had potatoes with breakfast. We reluctantly ordered room service last night, a hamburger with fries (12 euros) it must have started as a 3/4 pound patty.......hand baked roll bun, everything you would expect of a high quality burger in the states only probably better. (The last burger we ordered was in the Zurich Sheridan, it was really bad and cost 38 Swiss francs.....nearly 40.00) The night before last, we went to the dining room for dinner. I had "pork cheek stew" it was probably the best pork I have ever eaten. It was not fat and nearly melted in my mouth. our room here is large, very high quality good parking, free wifi that works, small balcony, all for under 150 euros.
