Van Der Valk Sélys Liège

This place provided a lovely one night stay. The room was modern and well equipped. The bathroom was spacious. Check in was easy, and parking is available across the street. The bar in the lobby looks great, although we spent our time at the nearby Christmas market. Breakfast was great and full of options. I would definitely stay here again.

We've stayed here twice now, and we love it. Close to everything in downtown Liege, interesting suites, and my favorite hotel breakfast. This time the suite we'd reserved was apparently occupied when we arrived to check in, but we'd already been upgraded to a bigger suite. We did notice some issues with the electricity in the bathroom...some lights would turn themselves off while others stayed on, and the jets on the tub turned themselves on several times the first night though nobody was using the tub at the time. Everything else was great though. The room was quiet, the bed was comfy, and the breakfast was fantastic as always. We'll be back for sure.

Everything is top in this hotel. Very luxurous in partly modern, partly renovated castle. This gives a special atmosphere to this hotel, with special corners to enjoy the stay. Only 1 small detail : beds a little to soft. It was second time I was there and a 3th time will come !

spent three nights at this hotel, i had a room with garden view which was a nice room, pillows and bed were comfortable. My son had a suite situated in the other part of the building.|My room was a nice size and a lovely bathroom too with heated floor. For a luxury hotel i was surprised at the artificial flower pots situated in the bedroom, felt like someone had been in the local charity shop to purchased these. Anyhow, i didnt use the hotel facilities ie the sauna, gym or pool but i believe they were adequate.|As for my son , his suite was very disappointing, it looked like someone had been in an other charity shop and bought bits and pieces of furniture to decorate the room. The hot water system was poor and the room was dirty. |At the end of the stay, some additional purchases that belong to another room were added to our hotel bill, but it was corrected at the time. The hotel would benefit from some kind of refurbishment in some places, it look a bit tired and well used! |I remember when it opened some years ago and it was the talk of the town.|In general the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Although someone noticed a mouse in the bar area, I would stay there again but not in the suite , too outdated and no better than a standard room.

We spent one night at this hotel. I found it to be very elegant. Service while checking in was very good. They spoke English. Our room looked luxurious and had everything I needed and more. The view from our window was beautiful. I would definitely recommend staying there. It had a mini fridge, coffee/ tea, hair dryer, iron and board, safe, robes and sleepers, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, hair cap, etc. $20 for valet parking or $10 for self parking

Everything seemed good and nice until a few hours after checkout, where they claimed we took lampshades and a bed headboard of all things... They did not want to hear any explanations and we already moved on to a new city so no way to . We were on foot with backpacks so pretty hard to take anything as voluminous as 2 lampshades and a whole bed headboard. They still charged us an extra 300€. The first time we went to the swimming pool, our door was not closed properly when we got back. They probably didn't find anything to seal and defaulted back to making up a story to get some more money from us. Stay away. Check out other reviews this is a common occurence.

We spent two nights in this hotel and had a great experience. Beautiful old façades with contemporary and comfortable interiors. The rooms are nice and spacious and I loved the garden view. And the breakfast buffet is outstanding!

Currently staying at the hotel for just over a month. |Went to take dinner tonight 24th September. Plenty of seats available. |First thing I get is from the restaurant manager “do you have a reservation?” I respond no but we are resident. |We get offered a tiny table which we politely decline. We ask if we can sit at one of the more quieter tables with no one sitting at them. Response “no they are closed it’s the cramped table or nothing”. So we chose nothing. |As the average nightly bill is €80+ and i still have another 2 and a half weeks left to stay that’s over € 1500 that the restaurant will lose. |Such a shame as everyone else apart from this guy and his flunky have been really helpful and nice.
