Avoid! You can find better for the same price Shabby room, chipped paint everywhere, very cheap furniture (and especially bed), no heating despite the cold temperatures, thin walls (could hear snoring from the adjacent rooms), not enough sockets, one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at, regret not looking at the google reviews before booking

Really good value; seamless check-in/-out; great location; breakfast option at the other location is good.

Very good experience. I am a student without an apartment yet so I stayed here for 2 weeks. It's spacious, clean, quiet in a calm neighborhood and close to the central station. Free coffee 24/7 and access to a clean kitchen with fridge and dishwasher. I mean it is not a five star hotell with King-Size beds but you don't pay for that either. When I called the reception they helped me with different things without any hesitation. First class service.

Everything blauemadeleine wrote in her review is spot-on. I was frustrated from the time I arrived. First, I booked my room through booking.com, and there was nothing that said this was a Vandrarhem/hostel. I was not sent the entry door code, and there was no staff person present when I arrived. I rang the door/intercom bell, and the voice at the other end gave me the entry door code -- unfortunately leaving off one number. After unsuccessful attempts to get in, I pushed the doorbell again, but there was no answer. So I stood outside in the snow until another guest, who had the complete number, arrived and let me in. The room was quite small, but the bed was comfortable and the shower good. In the morning, I went to the dining area and found it was self-serve to the point of having to load the dishwasher after finishing breakfast. The breakfast offering was on the skimpy side, as blauemadeleine noted. Just before I left I saw someone I assume was staff replenish the plates of ham and cheese. It was not far from the Central Station, but the opposite direction from the main shopping area. Next time I'll probably try another hotel.

In certain places this is advertised as a hotel, but that might be a bit too generous. Self check-in, the rooms were okay but the beds were squeaky and the pillows really thin. Some would say flimsy. The place was fairly quietly located so not a lot of street noise but you could hear the other guests a bit too well. The breakfast was 'temporarily' located a 15 minute walk away and did not offer anything especially enticing so we only bothered going once.

Well, it’s clean, safe, and central, and not super expensive, so you’ll have that, but it’s not particularly comfy. The room was about 8 feet by 8 feet and the bed tiny and hard, but more importantly the walls were paper thin - I could hear everything all night, and it made it really hard to sleep as I had to wake up on the morning. I’ve deffo had worse hostel stays, but I’ve also had considerably better ones for the price…

Good things first: ||Vandrarhem Uppsala Kungsängstorg is in a really good location.||The self check in works well and codes are correct and provided in time.||The place is clean. Shared showers and toilets are really well kept by the staff (and any inconvenience is due to a fellow travellers mishap).||The kitchen area is also very clean. There is a lack of signs... you will have to explore and open cupboards to find plates, cups glasses.||There is a machine which provides complementary coffee and hot water for tea.||A share refrigerator is on site.||For clement weather an outside sitting area (and a nearby ashtray) are available.||||||Now ... the less attractive features:||I had chosen the "hostel variant" of accommodation, since I was staying for a fairly long time.||The single room is the tiniest space I have ever stayed in at a rented accommodation. There is a little sky light; standing room (standing upright for a 1.70m person) is about 5 qm, the rest of the space is under the sloped beams. The door is slightly jammed. The walls are so thin, that in one night I heard my neighbors snoring, on other evenings I witnessed every movement of the person in the adjacent room. ||||Cooking scents from the shared kitchen can be rather overwhelming in all the corridors at times.||||Bed linnen can be found in a chest on the landing - and has to be paid for "extra" (about 10 €)||Breakfast is not included in the price for the room (about 10€ per day). Breakfast at||Vandrarhem Kungsangstorg is basic - one type of ham, one type of cheese. If you come early you will be able to have a boiled egg. For the musli fans there is a pretty good range of ingredients available.||||||What I found annoying was the fact that the "hotel variation" of the stay was sold for just 10€ more than I was paying (I compared prices whith a fellow guest who had booked on the day of arrival - as opposed to me who had booked months in advance) - the "hotel" rooms look pretty decent - more space, some with en suite showers, breakfast and linnen included in the rent.

Little hotel near the center of Uppsala. No frills but it has everything you may need for a quick stay in the city. It was self check in when I arrived so I didn’t meet anyone at the hotel, but all the instructions were very clear and easy to navigate. The price was very good too!
